AN EXCELLENT PLACE LET DOWN BY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more A large garden centre that with a huge range of plants and the usual products you would find in such a place. In addition, it also stocks a large range of tropical and cold water fish as lots of other pet supplies. My son loves to look at all the fish and its a great attraction if you have small children. During Christmas they also have loads of Christmas Decorations and lights up which the children really love. They also have invested a lot in a wonderful new food court. It serves a limited range of food for such a large area and its reasonable quality if not a bit pricey - the made to order pizzas are great. There are plenty of tables and it feels spacious plus it has a number of different baby chairs and the baby changing facilities are OK but not great. One strange error they seem to have made is the size of the adult trays - they are so small you cannot fit two plates on them and two cups and saucers without piling them on top of each other - which defeats the point of having a tray in a lot of cases. I pointed this out to a couple of the staff and they laughingly agree with me but nothing gets changed. What really lets this place down though is the staff. The general staff are pleasant enough but dont go out of their way to help you - they will point you in the general direction of something but wont actually show you. Or if you ask about a product they wont offer an alternative if they know the one you want isn't available. The catering staff are worse though. They are incredibly slow and surly. I have been overcharged a couple of times and when you point this out you dont get any apology, just a blank stare. It's really sad when a business invests so much in the bricks and mortar and the staff let them down so badly.

Yes I agree it is a great place to start if you are a Gardener! It has a very spacious car park and…read moreoverflow, and an entry which should really be an exit , a separate Pet Fish Aquaria with Cold Water and Tropical department, together with all or most supplies. A restaurant and many gift sections, barbeque equipment, and a Lawnmower Shop run by F.Giles where I purchased a new mini mower. I have never got poor service, it is by nature a Self Service Place that if you need help ,then there is a desk just inside the entry door where you can request someone to assist you before hand!!

I started to use this Pet Store as it is local to my work…read more It has a good selection of stock and is reasonably priced. Unfortunately the store is badly hampered by frankly rude staff! On a couple of occasions now, I have visited the store during my lunch-break to buy pet food. But on taking the items to the till to pay. I have been served (if you can call it that!), by a young lady who makes you feel a 'nuisance' by your mere presence! And cannot muster-up a ' hello', 'please' or 'thank-you' during the payment process! Pets at Home, may not be as cheap or local. But at least you are greeted with some politeness and actually feel like the 'CUSTOMER'.

This company is one to avoid at all costs-you may as well set fire to ten pound notes and save…read moreyourself the hassle. I ordered a cat scratch tree which included a hammock and sleeping box etc. The plush material it's covered is cheap rubbish which falls apart like wet tissue paper leaving the hammock unusable and bits of fluff shedding everywhere off the rest of it. Had to remove it in case the cat swallowed bits and choked. I complained within a few days of receiving at and enclosing photos and asked for a refund which they refuse to give me. "Tracey" has emailed me saying all i'm entitled to is a replacement cover for the hammock which is pretty pointless as it's obviously in the same cheap material. She copies bits of consumer regulations in her emails and tries to twist them to make her point, saying the manufacurer is entitled to offer a repair and she's not responsible as the retailer even though I pointed out that the legislation actually means i'm entitled to a refund as I rejected the goods straight away as substandard. She also expects me to pay for return delivery (of a 9kg cat tree!!) when i've already paid for it to be delivered to me, so she can inspect it and report to the supplier. Never had such a disgraceful service from any shop online or otherwise, they've no idea about customer service and seem to think their Terms and Conditions negate Consumer Law-don't give them your money, there are plenty of other traders out there who won't mess you about, just wish i'd done a search for reviews before i ordered. She's twice said she's arranged a courier collection and then cancelled it, the last time saying i couldn't return the item as i don't have the original box. I've since complained to Consumer Direct who agreed with me that i was entitled to reject the goods under both the sale of goods act and distance selling regulations and that not having the original box made no difference at all to my rights. I sent her their advice and she now admits she was wrong about the original packaging being needed, but still won't give a refund until she's sent the material off to the supplier to inspect and report-meanwhile i'm still out of pocket when I was entitled to an immediate refund as I wasn't satisfied with the standard of the goods they delivered. It's annoying having to give them even the 1 Star the site makes you give as they don't even deserve that.
