We tried all of the parishes in the area, and eventually settled with St. Andrew. Father Morgan and the priest and deacons not only put a lot of thought into their sermons and the weekly bulletin, but they are also very approachable. My wife and I tried to start an evening Bible study at Our Lady, but even though we weren't asking for any compensation, we got resistance so we approached Father Morgan who was happy to have us facilitate bible studies at St. Andrew. We have now been doing them for three years. I've joined the Knights of Columbus who a tremendous amount of charity and good will. read more

Feels very traditional, very holy, hard to explain but I personally like it better than St Michael's in MI or Our Lady in NMB.

The Church is located on a busy street and Mass times makes it very convenient for tourists and visitors like me to make sure we don't miss Sunday Mass... I love the simplicity of the design of the Church. I have read a few reviews left for this church under 3 stars. I understand theirs points because I would rate something similar if I do not understand my Mother Church apostolate works and Her ministries. read more

A very nice traditional catholic church in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Features four masses on Saturday evenings. The sanctuary has large, soaring ceilings and plenty of natural light. I'd estimate it would hold about 800 worshippers and while we were there it was absolutely full which was nice to see. The service was traditional which is what I expect from a religion that is 2000 years old. Lots of parking in a lot West of the church. read more

The priest was very kind, and there seems to be a thriving community of worshippers. We only attended week day mass and it was as full as you would expect sunday mass to be! Very lovely community, lovely church. They're raising money to renovate the church so hopefully next time we happen to pass through we get to see how it turns out! If you're vacationing like we are and looking for a peaceful place to stop for mass i couldn't recommend this place enough! read more

She was very friendly and encouraged my mom to stay and even offered to take her home. What another guy here said, unintelligible homily. The Priest tried to be funny and I did giggle when I was able to understand him. But, at the end it is what it is. They didn't get someone who could speak proper English. I think the Catholic Church has gone globalist thanks to the new infiltrator posing as Pope, so he's obviously catering to the new comers by having someone who speaks Spanish fluently and barely any English. It's terrible, along with many other things I don't like about staying in the Catholic Church. That one time was the first and last we attended that Church. I will not be coming back to the Catholic Church ever again unless they get rid of the communist mooslem loving "Pope", which I doubt will happen, the Catholic Church has always sided with the elites that now pretend to be "socialists". Went for communion & refused & turned & walked straight back down the aisle & left. An abomination upon the word of the lord. I was in a movie that was filed in that church. I went their for Christmas mass today. The priest was boring and flat. He seemed like he didn't want to be there. At the end I asked to speak with him for 5 minutes. He hesitated and then said ok. I was trying to explain somthing important and less than a minute into it he stopped me and said he was in a hurry and he was about to leave and wouldn't even give me a chance. This was on Christmas and he's not even trying to listen and understand the people. That church needs a new priest. read more

I attended mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church today. All in all it was a decent visit, however there were a few shortcomings. For one, it was very crowded. Also, I don't think a single person in the congregation was under 80 years old. Because of the frightening amount of old people, the church reeked of Play-Doh, mung beans, and death. The Eucharist was incredibly dry and left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the mass. And finally, get a priest that can actually speak English. I felt like I was in a George Lopez episode trying to decipher what the priest was saying during his homily. I couldn't tell if he was preaching about Jesus or trying to wiggle his way into a job in front of a 7-11. Decent visit. Bad annunciation. 3 stars. read more

My family and I attented the Easter Mass, while coming down for Vacation. I'm A Catholic High School student and i've attented many Catholic masses all over the country and I have to say this was the worst I have been to. The priest had a message that he didn't carry on with that had no meaning. He was rude to his singers. The singing as well was very poor. The very nice lady who was carring for her child while pregnant was asked to sit down while trying to help her crying child. After Communion my family and I had enough of this place and was trying to get out but a usher didn't allow anybidy to leave the mass. He was even threatning to get the police. We had to simply lie and say we had to go to the bathroom and ran out as fast as we could. Very strange/scary mass. It felt like I was in a prison not being able to leave! Don't go to this mass! As visitors to the Myrtle Beach area, we decided to try the nearest Roman Catholic Church for Mass last Sunday. We felt that we had entered into a time warp back to 1963 - after Vatican II - but just barely. If you are looking for more pompousness than is warranted and want an "old school" Mass you have come to the right place. In addition, while we realize that the Catholic Church continues to have difficulty recruiting new priests and we are dependent upon priests from other countries to become diocesan priests, we have never been to a Church in the US where we literally could not understand a single word the celebrant had to say. We will try Our Lady, Star of the Sea this coming Sunday in N. Myrtle Beach and see if the priests and service are any less pretentious and understand that we are living in the 21st century. read more

So Disappointed!!! My wife and I were in town for the 2nd Annual Wine Tasting Trolley event in Myrtle Beach expecting a very warm experience at mass the Sunday morning after. I expected a more inviting and considerate group of parishioners as I am sure many catholics would. This unfortunately was not the case. It began with the opening comments by the priest that their head pastor just passed away that morning. I saw a couple in front of me snickering about the news and wondered, "what is wrong with these people, your priest just died!" Then came the extremely loud elderly lady singing off key and in an overly exaggerated righteous tone. It was very embarrassing to us each time she would shriek at the top of her lungs, I could not help but jump in agony! Then to our shock and dismay, following the "sign of peace" exchange commonly practiced at all services, we noticed a staggering number of people immediately spray their hands with hand sanitizer. We were floored at the sight of this terrible display of germaphobia and offended all the same. To add insult to injury, one parishioner even went further as to not acknowledge my wife's attempt to extend her "handshake" consistent with any catholic decorum. Sadly, this place goes down as the most conceited group of catholics I had the unfortunate luxury of being in the same room with. If snotty-ville is your taste, then please, do attend the show. We, however, have too much respect for ourselves to entertain this place again. read more
