Then two more reps arrived, opened their counters and next thing I knew they were calling my name. The process was efficient and the rep was very helpful. I waited about 15 minutes before my name was called. Not bad at all. When the girl called my name I could barely hear her so I went up to her and asked if she called my name. She replied, word for word, "yeah, what do you want" I told her I wanted to get my Real ID. She then said something about forgetting her water and was walking around behind the counter like she was going to walk away while asking me if I had all my documents. I didn't have all my documents, all my fault, so I left to get what I had forgotten. I didn't go back to this office because I didn't like the way I was greeted. I was called right on time and I was in and out in about 10 minutes! Staff was super kind and friendly which I appreciated because I've had some bad experiences in the past with dmv employees. After the queuing system failed to work twice outside, I went inside to queue. I was helped right away by a very nice young lady who had to go to her boss, the owner, for help. Right away I could tell the way she was interacting with him and by his mannerisms that he was a jackass who made his staff feel uncomfortable. In the middle of his attempt to help me he just went and sat down and his desk and after leaving me standing there for about 5 minutes asked if there was something he could help me with. I wasted about 90 minutes of my work day and never got any resolution at all. Just met one of the most miserable pieces of shit I have ever seen attempt to run a business. I would highly recommend going to any other license bureau in the area than this one if you have any self respect for yourself or care about how others are treated in the work place. Have the correct documents and you'll get through the process stress-free. Without an appointment you'll wait longer but mid-week and mid-month you'll get through the process quicker than on weekend and month start or end. Since I had the necessary documents I found the folks here friendly. I didn't have an appointment when I was in the area and decided to chance a mid-week, late morning opportunity to renew auto plates. With a half-dozen folks ahead of me and two clerks working renewals I had my number called in less than 30 minutes. I was out in under five. read more

My wife and I have been using this license office since 2004. I can't say it's always been a good experience, however, I can say that in the last 5 years it's greatly improved. The staff is pleasant unlike the stereotypical DMV everyone thinks about. I've called with questions and they always answer them. They have also updated the office. It's not "fancy" but it is clean and well organized. Was just there today to license a car we just purchased. The ladies greeted me when I walked in the door and didn't even make me check in. I do believe it helps that I try and go with a good attitude and understand that everyone they deal with is not the kindest. Regardless, the office does a great job! read more

So not gonna lie, I was expecting this would end up as 2 star or even 1 star review. I was hella terrified to even come here. I was terrified to even THINK about coming here. But somehow, everything worked out OK. Sean had to go to the DMV to update his DL. While he was there, he inquired about what I might need to get an out of state car titled in MO, and what I would need to get a MO DL. Well turns out they had sheets that they handed out to him with what I needed. Dang. That's pretty good. Also when I first went there with him to get my title it was no big deal. Sure, I needed a shitton of paperwork, but they told him exactly what I needed and it was no biggie. Just make sure to check off your list and don't leave anything at home. Thankfully this place is not much of a drive for us, so even if we did forget something it wouldn't be a huge deal. I returned here yesterday to get my MO DL. I all I had to do was hand over my old PA License (*sobs*, I miss you PA license...you were so shiny and pretty....I miss all of your holographic counties and stuff....*sniff*) along with bringing my Passport (or birth certificate, they're not picky) and that's it. And don't forget to wear makeup and/or brush your hair, lol. Anyway I was pretty much in and out in only a few minutes. It was crazy. Also this place is open from like 9am to 1pm on Saturdays. DO YOU KNOW HOW AWESOME THAT IS? Especially for people who work 9 to 5 jobs M - F. The friggin' assessors office should take note because I had to leave work early on Friday to get my shit assessed. lol. But yeah. I think this place maybe used to suck but they're getting better as far as I can tell. It also depends on what time of day you come in, what clerk you get, how busy it is, and if you have your crap together or not. I will probably return to get a custom plate in the near future and to get my motorcycle permit! read more

The older woman responds when I tell her I do not have the copy of the personal property tax bill because the company will not let those out of the office: "You business people are so arrogant. See, (holding a post card up to me and pointing at it) it says right here what to bring! You people are the most arrogant people to deal with." Well, excuse me sweetheart, you own that moniker You ARE the most rude person in a public service position ever. And, you get to charge extra to verify the property tax bill payment! Go shut the front door biddy. I filled out the customer response card and mailed it to the owner of the office asking for a call to discuss this issue. I never got a call. I never expect to get one either. My advice is to go to the license office down on Hwy-94. The counter people are younger, nicer and better trained in customer service. read more

So I called the St Charles license office and spoke to Kellie there manager, Kellie really showed passion in helping myself understand what I needed to do to get my 2019 bike tag and explain in detail the documents I need to bring them at there facility. I arrived and there Kellie was helping customers as she greeted me as I came into there facility, Kellie got me in immediately, and had me out in less then 10 minutes. This is the oldest, most run down DMV that I've ever been to but the customer service at this DMV is some of the best. You can even reserve your spot online for zero to no wait when you arrive. I have renewed plates and registered a new car here in the past 60 days and they were efficient, helpful, and happy to work the customers to resolve any issues they had. Social distancing was practiced, no masks, but there was a barrier between you can the clerk. read more

I'm an international student. I moved here from Iowa for work. I just needed to transfer my Iowa license to Missouri. I don't know how all people are there but the guy I got service from said that I can't get license because I don't have all documents. I was amazed and I felt first time ever misbehaved in the country. I went that office twice and both time he was acting like I'm dump and not getting him when I tried to explain my case. I went to Harvester DMV just for asking whether I can get license. The guy there asked my documents, I gave him and I got license within 10 mins. I suggest not to go there if u are international students and also other people who want better service. I don't even want to give one star if possible. I took my daughter there to get her license on her 16th birthday on March 29th, 2017. We waited over 2 hours. While waiting another young excited 16 year old spoke with my daughter as he was failed for the second time. He was giving her tips as we all do to help each other out. The elder state patrol woman was so rude when my daughter greeted her. My daughter went to open the drivers door for her and the elderly lady was so crass. My daughter wasn't aware of protocol, she was being polite. Ultimately my daughter was failed by this elderly lady like the boy was. My daughter got points off for just going to the middle of a white line at a stop sign and a few other things. Apparently there's another elderly woman working there too who is crabby. I understand we want our children safe, trust me this is my daughter. However, if you're so tired and crabby maybe it's time to hang your jackets up ladies. Also allocate more hours for employees and listen this is an exciting day BE KIND! I don't care what badge you wear. However, we aren't fans of St. Charles so to Ballwin we went and the staff was amazing, we waited 10 mins and my daughter passed! If you don't like your job find a new one or better yet retire and follow suit St.Charles of Ballwin. Horrible experience turned fantastic do to positive people and employees. read more
