I'm not a fan of going to the dentist, never have been. Yesterday I had a very nice hygienist and yet I wasn't always patient with her. I apologize but I like the practice the dental practice and I like her Dr. Peterson is great. He's also very patient with me. He knows me well and I know it's a strong word, but I hate the dentist.. but it is not personal towards St. Cloud family dentistry, I highly recommend them. read more

Wish I could give less stars than one. I went here for about a year and she was always very pushy about getting extra things that my insurance wouldn't pay for. She insisted I get an $800 crown I couldn't afford and in not so many words told me I was dumb for not doing it. When I was pregnant I needed a root canal. It started out where I went in and she started the job. Halfway through she told me we were done for the day, stuffed it full of temporary filling and sent me home for a full month. The next time I went in she drilled out all the excess feeling which took about 70% of the time I had, did half of the new filling and sent me home for another day. The next day she insisted I get xrays. I was pregnant remember. When I told her I was uncomfortable with it she told me I would have to suck it up and deal with it because she needed to see what she was working with (halfway through the job). So I agreed to the damn x ray and she began drilling on the temporary filling again. It was then that I realized that she had numbed the wrong part of my mouth. I attempted to tell her I was in a significant amount of pain that I could feel everything she was doing and that I wanted her to try again and she told me I needed to suck it up because she knew she got the right spot. Except I was the one who could feel it and I knew for a fact she hadn't. She refused to admit she had numbed the wrong part of my mouth and gave me A FULL ROOT CANAL WITH NO PAIN KILLERS!!!! I have never been so pissed in my life. Now I drive over an hour one way just to avoid using her. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

WORST DENTIST EVER! WORST DECISION TO USE THIS DENTIST EVER! I originally went in to this dentist because I had a toothache and she had an opening that morning. When I went in I was informed I would need a root canal that would cost me $869 dollars, or I could have it extracted which my insurance would pay for. The dentist (the only dentist in the practice) recommended I root canal it. I should have recognized that if I had had the tooth extracted she would not have made any money and her ONLY GOAL IS TO MAKE MONEY. She doesn't give 2 sh*ts about her patients. So she put some numbing stuff on it so I could handle the tooth pain until the root canal. Then they asked if I would be willing to put a down payment down on the root canal- so I put $269 down so that the total would be $500 when I went back. Well the medicine lasted maybe 20 minutes and by the time I was home I could hardly stand the pain again. So I called them back and said I would need the tooth extracted instead as the root canal was not really worth waiting for- it was just too much. They rescheduled me for the next morning. I showed up the next morning expecting to pay nothing and to get my money back as I wasn't going to be doing the root canal. I went in, and the receptionist (also a huge b*tch) tried to inform me that because I wanted the tooth extracted now, they were only going to refund me $100 dollars of the money I had put down. When I asked why- they told me FOR THEIR TIME?!?!?! Can you effing believe it?!! THEIR TIME! bahahahahaha- isn't it a dentists job to make appointments and give you their time? Maybe I'm wrong (sarcasm dripping)... but I said absolutely not, that they needed to refund my money and because I said that the dentist then said she wouldn't see me, and wouldn't pull my tooth (even though she knew the pain I was in- she was just mad about me not giving her extra money). NEVER GO HERE. I am letting everyone know how they extort people for money and I am going to be pursuing a lawsuit against them. They don't even deserve 1 star. read more

Went in for a yearly exam and cleaning. It felt like she was taking a knife to my gums and I ended up with a mouth full of blood which she didn't have the time to siphon out. So I sat there as she ripped away at my gums drinking blood. All she could say was that I was 'sensitive' Never in my entire life of 57 years have I experienced such brutality in the dental chair. Well once in Arizona with a dentist who turned out to be a paedophile and was thrown in prison. He broke my jaw pulling out a tooth that should have been filled. This just to point out that I know a good dentist from a bad one. I would not recommend this dentist and I'm notifying my insurance company of my experience. I may look into the Dental association also. There is no excuse for this. If you've had a good experience with her, great! I've seen so many dentists throughout the years and have never felt like jumping out of the seat and calling it quits mid-visit. I should have done that but then I wouldn't have this truth to relate. I am a social worker in the St. Cloud area and often have the responsibility of finding dental providers for my child clients who work with medical assistance insurance. It is great when you can find a provider who is accepting new patients, so I was quite pleased when I found St. Cloud Family Dentistry. I happened to accompany my clients (3 children) to the dental appointment with their parent. I had blocked off 3 hours in my schedule to accompany to these appointments because dental exams usually take some time. I am well aware of how dental appointments usually proceed, and when the dentist did not invite the parent back to the exam room to review the x-rays I knew there was something fishy going on. The dental exams--including x-rays and cleaning--for EACH child was less than 10 minutes, and the mother was not informed of any concerns following the appointments. Only when I prompted the dentist for more information did she tell the mother the children had no cavities and there was nothing to worry about, but one child would need to see an orthodontist due to concerns with some of the adult teeth. I asked the dentist, Dr. Anne Nguyen, if she would be placing a referral for the orthodontist, the mother would need to contact insurance to get a referral. Following the appointment, I asked the children how their exams had gone. They informed me that the dentist had briefly bushed their teeth with a tool, and had not informed them of anything during the exam. One of the children had excessive bleeding from their gums following the appointment. None of the children received toothbrushes or paste from the dentist following the appointment. Highly unprofessional and uncaring clinic overall. I will be reporting the dentist for medicare fraud, and would strongly encourage you to reconsider choosing this provider for your own care. read more
