I can't recommend it enough if you want to sample and enjoy such a wide array of cuisines; we started with Mexican, Italian, walleye patties and Brussels sprouts in an old saloon, popcorn at Candyland, world famous pizza, soft serve ice cream , and delicious dessert. The teaching staff is excellent, as are the group lesson ratios, especially if you're in the ARC ski-racing program. Big airy bright base lodge with reasonable prices. A few years ago I was fascinated with the multitude of machines making snow and thought more movie production companies should be using these machines to make a more realistic snow scene. At any rate the chalet is top notch there are scenic slopes and they are constantly updating the site. Urban development is creeping down from the north into Afton so enjoy the ride out here as a respite from cookie cutter developments and another Applebees before the snow hilly countryside is gone.

When I walked in i sat down quickly as the crowed peered at us for being late. The story was going on and it was very informative there was murder and death and excitement. We learned about the history of some of the local homes and the people who lived there as well as the events that took place. The story was exciting and the story teller spoke well. It was not in a monotone fashion. The story tell kept the crowed on their feet and being someone who loves history it was nice to see old photos and hear the stories tied to them. Lots of research and preparing took place to make this happen and I will be planing to attend more of these events.

Great place to go if you're visiting Stillwater for the day or like me have a friend/relative…read morevisiting Stillwater (the town you live in) and they like to learn about the history. I purchased tickets a day in advance just in case they filled up quickly. I purchased 2 adults and 1 child ticket. My son was so stoked to go on his first trolley ride (he's 6). We got a huge surprise when we pulled up to pick up our tickets and my son's local school bus driver (Terry) was going to be driving and giving us the tour today! Yay! What a treat! We got great seats on one of their brand new trolleys. Terry drove us around downtown Stillwater very carefully and we learned lots about this amazing lumber hub back in the day. We also got to drive by some historic and beautiful houses in Stillwater (north and south hills) with amazing views. We had a blast and I would highly recommend this as a great tour if you want to learn about the birthplace of Minnesota and take a break from walking Main Street. They also have some seasonal and other trolley offerings like princess story time or another seasonal spooky tour in October. Check it out!

You start with a sample of one the the beers while you hear some history of Hamm's brewing. Then, into the brewing area to learn hownits done and sample another beer. Finally, (at least in summer) head outside for a scavenger hunt and another beer sample. And then, it's a short walk across the parking lot to 11 Wells for more history, samples of their spirits and explanation of rhe distilling process. And a game of trivia! The guides are so friendly and animated! It really was a fun evening. Highly recommend.

Not "kitschy" at all - on the contrary just packed with stories, information, and humor. Small group, easy to ask questions - really well done! Our guide Jim did a great job sharing the history of the twin cities. This area is ideal for a Segway tour since there are bike paths and parks everywhere. Segways are NOT difficult to master and I recommend this tour as the best way to acquaint yourself with MSP!

We were looking for a low-key first camping experience for our kids, not too far from the Cities in…read morecase they really couldn't handle it. This fit the bill. The campsites were fine, some more separate and shady than others, but pretty standard and basically what I expected. Had no problem with the one we stayed at. The kids appreciated the playground tons. When we were there the lake was having an algae bloom, so we were disappointed not to be able to swim, but that wasn't something anyone could control. (Didn't love the trucked-in construction sand on the beach, though - I didn't even want to be down on the beach with that rough stuff!). The biggest issue we had was cars. We had 2, and had registered them when we reserved the campsite online. It wasn't until we arrived, though, that anyone said anything about having to pay a per-night fee to park them. You'd think this would be rolled into the cost for the site, charged when you register, or at least MENTIONED before you arrive. But no. So only when we checked in did we find out we were basically paying for another night of camping to just have our cars there. Our campsite only had enough gravel parking for one car, so we parked the other as close to it as we could and thought we were fine. Nope, the park hosts came by and told us we couldn't park the cars side-by-side. So we moved them to be front-to-back on our site, and the hosts said that was fine. The next morning a park worker came by and told us we couldn't park them THAT WAY, and that they didn't want cars possibly leaking on the grass. If they allow two cars per site (and make you pay for it) and don't want cars off the gravel, they need to gravel for two cars per site, otherwise change the parking allowances (and costs). This especially didn't make sense as we were in a loop that also allowed campers and trailers, which were definitely parked on the grass. Overall the campsite and amenities were fine, and this would be a four-star review if not for the inconsistent, misleading treatment of the cars you use to get to this campground.
