Visited April 2015: "Impressive Cathedral in the smallest town in South Wales"…read more We decided to walk the 5 minutes from our hotel down the street to St David's Cathedral. It was Easter Sunday, so we knew that we would not get the full tour of the location. We took several photos of the graveyard, the Bishop's Palace, and the stream. We then asked one of the parishioners if we could go inside before their next service. We decided not to take photos due to the service starting soon. There was several stain glass windows, a large ornate organ behind the altar, and wooden ceiling. We sat down near a large column made out of cement. The detail work in this church was incredible. One of the parishioners approached us and spoke to us about the church, their services, and attendants. I could easily see myself coming here again and photographing the splendor.

The inside is gorgous architecture mostly norman with a few victorian updates but parts of the building go way back in history . There has been a church on this site for over 1500 years .

Perhaps it was because the happy couple getting married there had decked the place out in candles at twilight and the place looked sparkly and beautiful. This helped, but it's a lovely church to begin with. The church itself is older than the village of Saundersfoot. It's one of the earliest Welsh Christian churches, and part of what makes it special is the fact that there's a gorgeous little hill path leading all the way up to it. Being so close to the sea gives it a very calm and tranquil atmosphere, and it will always have a special place in my heart as two people so special to me got married here. It's well worth finding that special place for it, because it's a church that bears repeating come rain or shine.

Saint Davids is the home of the Celtic Church , there was a religious centre here before Canterbury…read moreor York , infact there was a church here over 1500 years ago . The bishops palace was added to the cathedral site in the 1200s and its a very extensive ruin and shows just how well the religious life could be in those days . Its really good value , amazed at the differance in price when compared with England . Well worth a visit .

Built in a Gothic style in the 19th century, it's surprisingly large inside. The stained glass windows are beautiful and some of the smaller ones are dedicated to previous worshippers here. There is easy access to the church, including ramps, and there is a small gift shop attached.
