From start to finish everything here was just AMAZING! I'm truly impressed after dining at St. Eve's! They start you off with a DELICIOUS homemade banana bread, and another type of bread as well. I really wasn't paying attention to what the other type of bread was because I was too busy enjoying every bite of the banana bread! They have a great menu with a fabulous list of specials. I wish the specials were written down just because it was hard to remember them all, and I didn't want to keep asking the waitress. My waitress was great, and she helped me pick my appetizer and dinner because everything sounded so good it was just too hard to decide! I started with a half order/appetizer portion of the penne with shrimp, scallops, and lobster meat in a lobster sauce. It was EXCELLENT! The sauce was delicious, and they were very generous with the shrimp, scallops, and lobster meat! For dinner I had the crab encrusted cod fish. It was FANTASTIC! The cod was a generous piece , and nice and thick! The whole preparation of that dish was wonderful! For dessert I had the s'mores profiteroles which were good! Really enjoyed our recent Saturday night dinner here with my wife, step son and his girlfriend. Dined indoors and felt safe and comfortable. Was our first time here and we left thoroughly impressed with the vibe, the service and most importantly, the food. We ordered Stuffed figs and the endive salad to start. Both exceptional. I celebrated my mother in laws birthday on a Wednesday night, I brought my toddler with me and our server, Bailey made sure she was happy along with the rest of my family. We were so happy with the service and the food that we booked a second reservation the same week on a Friday night. Food was fresh and authentic ingredients were used. Service was great and he recommended a few dishes and gave the background about using local businesses for their beef. I had the penne pasta with crab, shrimp, mussels in a lobster cream sauce. My bf had their ravioli beef for an appetizer and the lobster roll for his entree. We shared the pavlova lemon curd with fresh berries for dessert. Only complaints were that the fries were overcooked and they replaced with a larger order of more overcooked fries. Had to ask for bread. Had to ask fo extra napkins because we were only provided 2. We ate outside when it was 94 degrees, however the coverage and breeze provided relief and it was quaint only about 6 tables which was nice. Definitely will be returning. Wonderful lunch here yesterday. Great service and beautifully prepared food. Nice atmosphere. My mom and I both had the tempura soft shell crab special with Asian style slaw. Perfect. Came with a not your average side salad. Had to spring for dessert. Nutella creme brulee and Italian meringue with fruit. Both worth the calories! Shame on me for ordering a $19 cheeseburger. Double shame on me for ordering it at a restaurant that I was never really thrilled about. Shame on St. Eve's for serving such a poor quality entree. This is their description: "St. Eve's Painted Hills chuck and shortrib burger, minus 8 carmelized onions, vermont cheddar" The average diner, including myself, doesn't know from Minus 8. We had to research it online to learn that it is vinegar. FYI....Minus 8 and carmelized onions weren't enough to hide the poor quality of meat and horrible bun. To make things even worse they overcooked it. ARGH Credit where credit is due....the fries were very good but ditch the homemade ketchup. Service is still not up to par. Just fabulous! Four of us had an 8:30 reservation on a Saturday night & it was a perfect time to get seated. We were served an assortment of tasty different breads to start. For apps, we got the filet mignon ravioli, carpaccio, & endive salad. Everyone immensly enjoyed them- especially the ravioli. For entrees we got the short ribs which you could cut with your fork, scallops which were so yummy, & the salmon. We actually got dessert as well. Nine of us went here for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. The place was packed, but everything went very smoothly. The wait staff was professional and knowledgable of the menu. (Kudos to not looking down at your paper when reciting the specials). The warm, complimentary bread (including banana bread and raisin bread) is awesome. We didn't have any appetizers, but the entrees were great. The duck breast with quinoa was succulent. No other word to describe it. And every bite of the bouillabaisse was worth every penny of the $39 they charged for it. The people in my group seemed happy with their choice of short ribs, but were hoping for more. I thought the 20% automatic gratuity slapped on to our bill was a bit high, but I'm okay with it considering the effectiveness of the service. Had dinner here on a Saturday with a pretty decent sized group of 8. It is a BYOB restaurant which is always appealing, with a liquor store being next door. I love the ambiance and decor of the inside. I almost felt as if I was in someone's dining room. So I guess it was a very homey vibe. I started with the grass fed NY state sirloin carpaccio, which was topped with romaine and a Caesar dressing. Very tasty starter. My entree was the fish of the night which was Halibut. It was a little on the smaller size, but definitely cooked perfectly and delicious. This place for sure gets a thumbs up, and hopefully we dine here again soon. read more

Special occasion-worthy dinner! Even though it's a BYO and you save $ on drinks, be prepared to spend A LOT. The quality of the food is top notch so you get what you pay for. Atmosphere is cozy, but very noisy. Service good, not great. Waitress wasn't particularly friendly, partly because it seemed she was so focused on remembering all the specials! Also, the menu isn't very "user-friendly," bordering on pretentious... Some dishes and ingredients aren't described well, as if you're expected to know what they are (ie one molecular gastronomy martini app that I had to ask about, and star fruit listed as carambola... Seriously? Call it star fruit. And I'm still not sure what a "passion fruit crouton" is...) The oyster app was great. Nice touch with the raw salmon and seaweed on top. We all enjoyed our entrees... Duck with blackberry port sauce was perfectly cooked, but a little sweet, especially served with maple glazed sweet potato, scallops and grilled shrimp with lemon couscous was bright and had a nice charred taste, and grilled filet mignon was juicy, but slightly underdone. Flavors are thoughtful and portions are good. Even took half home. Dessert was equally as delicious. "Goo goo pie" was the bomb! Layered Graham cracker crust, chocolate ganache, roasted peanut salted caramel, and toasted marshmallow. Pavlova with strawberries and lime curd was light but a little sweet. Ice cream was pretty basic, nothing special. Also, please stop dusting everything with powered sugar (too sweet!) and garnishing with mint that no one eats. read more

Parking was a little difficult, because the entrance to the restaurant is in the rear. So definitely park behind the restaurant. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess that was welcoming. We ordered the local burrata which was very rich in flavor and accompanied by tasty fruit and prosciutto. For our main courses we had the duck breast and short ribs. Went here last Saturday night for dinner with my friend. From looking at the website and the changing "seasonal menus," I was looking very forward to trying it! I was aware the restaurant was going to be busy, but even getting in the door and checking in with the hostess was like something out of "Hunger Games" (pun definitely intended). Many of the other customers were rude, pushy, and a little snooty (IMO), and there was no rhyme or reason to the check-in process. It was chaotic. But, I put that aside when we were seated and greeted by our waiter. HE was fantastic throughout the entire evening and probably the best part of our experience. The ambience is nice, but tight and crowded. I'm guessing a weeknight would have offered a more spacious environment. We started off with the goat cheese appetizer, which was lovely, but quite small for $14. We also both had the short ribs, a constant on their menu year-round. I LOVE short ribs, and was so excited for that melt-off-the-bone first bite. Sadly, I never got it. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't as good as I was expecting. It tasted dry, like it had been over-cooked or sitting out for a while. I've had far better at other (much less expensive) restaurants. Not sure I'll go back again but I may consider giving it a second try on a quiet weeknight when they aren't stretched so thin. read more

Ordered pick up during quarantine. The person taking my order was very helpful. Food was packed very nicely. WHen taking out the packages from the bag. We saw some herb butter and home made bread. Surprise and delish. The shrimp cocktail was a surprise with an Asian type salad uNderneath. The soba noodle salad was great on top of the lettuce. And the duck spring rolls had a Peking duck taste. My husband loved the stuffed chicken. And the salmon with grapefruit pieces were also nice. I ordered mussels in coconut broth and short rib ravioli for my daughter and her boyfriend. They were so full she saved the endive and apple salad for lunch. Thank you st. Eves. A special dinner. Enjoyed with a bottle of wine. I forgot. Tuesday night was my first time dining here with a friend. We were seated immediately and had 4 different people tending to us...up until the point that we wished to place our meal orders. Our appetizer of bacon wrapped figs was meh. Crab cakes were tasty. His salmon was dry and my scallops were burned, I don't even think the dish had the shrimp as it detailed on the menu. I asked for their tuna entree and it was delivered to me on a bread dish, no garnishes whatsoever. It was stringy and absolutely NOT sashimi grade fish. We explained why we were displeased with our meals and I was shocked when nothing was removed from the bill. At least we had good wine. We will not be returning unfortunately. read more

Nice patio area in the summer, while close to the road and parking is separated by trellis. I ate at St. Eve's last weekend with my boyfriend. We ordered two appetizers and an entrée each, and we left very full and satisfied! To start, we had the steamed mussels and the salmon carpaccio. For our mains, he went with the pork chop, and I picked the pecan crusted chicken. We were quite impressed with the Thai-style broth for the steamed mussels, but otherwise, we thought the chef's talent really shined through on the main dishes. I LOVED my chicken breast-- it came with dried fruit orzo and a mustard sauce. Everything on the plate was delicious, I only wish there was more mustard sauce on the chicken-- they were a little stingy with it. Also worth noting was the bread that came out before the appetizers. The basket came with two types of bread, and I thought both were outstanding. Finally, St. Eve had a great atmosphere and was decorated very nice for the holiday. If we are ever in the area, I would certainly come back. read more

I live in NYC and have had my fare share of fantastic dining experiences so I can say with confidence that St. Eve's is a phenomenal restaurant. The most amazing part is that the restaurant is BYOB, so not only is the food outstanding, but you can save some cash by purchasing the alcohol of your choosing at the liquor store next door. I came to St. Eve's as a third wheel with my friend and her boyfriend. I hadn't seen them in months and I was visiting family for the weekend so they invited me to dinner and I'm so glad they did! To start we shared the muscles - which were not very brothy but still had perfect flavoring. As an entree I had the hanger steak, my friend ordered another steak (can't remember which at this point) and her boyfriend had the filet mignon ravioli special. We stole a piece of ravioli and I have never tasted anything like it. I'm drooling thinking about it. THEN dessert happened. We each ordered a dessert to share. Upgrading this to 5 stars... we hadn't been there since our last visit a couple of months ago because my entree was over-cooked and had to be sent back. It was handled really well and there were no issues but I guess it just made us a little wary. Anyway... SO glad we decided to go back last night.... where do I start... I had the oysters for my appetizer and they were just amazing. Then I had the venison special which was indeed very special...it was melt-in-the mouth tender and full of flavor ... my only complaint is that the meat portion wasn't as generous as I would've like... but having said that, it came with an abundance of interesting vegetables... which I am sure is the healthier option. My husband had the goat cheese salad which came with a huge serving of crumbed goat cheese which was delish. He had the pork chop for his entree, which was very interesting... a little on the spicy side which, once you get used to, was great. For dessert we had creme brulee and brioche pudding... Came here in a Friday evening with my wife's aunt who we haven't seen in a while, so we were expecting to sit all night talking. The decor is awesome here, really comfortable not pretentious. The lighting is great too especially at sundown, and although the restaurant was full we didn't have to yell to hear each other. For starters I ordered the warm beet salad, great flavor nice vinaigrette, loved that it was served warm; the wife ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata, even though it's early spring the tomato was still pretty tasty; for the entree I ordered a special of sable fish with spinach and fingerlings, buttery in texture, perfectly prepared; the wife got the filet mignon ravioli, great flavor rich and awesome. For dessert I got the chocolate bar with olive oil gelato, dense and great with the gelato must try! The wife got the home made root beer float, what a difference in flavor you get with home made root beer, so awesome. I thought the service was good, but our server did a few things that just annoyed me, she grabbed the check immediately after the credit card slip was signed, even though it was in the middle of the table not on the outside, almost as if we were being rushed. And while we were sitting there talking, every few minutes someone would come along removing silverware or water glasses from our table as to say "leave". I could understand if she was trying to leave or if the restaurant was packed and they needed our table, but that was not this case. As soon as they brought the check, customer service stopped. This little issue would not prevent me from coming back, it just feels weird when the server makes it obvious that once you pay, it's over.
