You may drive right up to it, park and explore. In the summer, the "keep" is open for a small donation so you can see such amazing views. The rest of the area is open for Frei. Filled with little shops and friendly locals. If it were America I'd write that it's the epitome of small town America, but it's not. Therefore, it must be the epitome of small town Germany, I just cannot attest to that. Nevertheless, it's filled with rich history that is indeed admirable. If you're ever in the area, swing by during the Christmas season and you'll be delighted, I promise.
