The reason I am giving 2 stars is that I think. I was not welcome in the church . I arrived 20 mins before the start and lots of church goer was there but nobody talk to me to say hi or welcome me . It's my first time since I was just passing by coming from Florida and driving to Chicago . I just want to go to church since its a good Friday .. By the way I am an active member of a UMC church and holds some leadership position .. I wish this church is more welcoming to strangers like me .. I am sure they know that I am a visitor since I am the only Asian in the congregation..

The Pastor and his wife are the most genuine, real, faithful, and loving people you will ever meet. At HBWC, you are treated as a 10 when you walk thru the door. They know how to Love God and Love people the right way! I have never attended a church where I immediately felt like family in my life until I found HBWC. I highly reccomend joining us on Sundays at 9:30am and 11am for worship service and on Wednesday nights at 7:15pm for Bible study. That church is very cliquish. The church only loves people of their own. They do have outreaches here and there, but the church needs to set aside its hypocrisy in order to reach more people. Granted, there are a few genuine people who do go to that church. Please do not get me wrong. Churches are to help people, not hurt people. I do not want others to go through the same thing my friends and I have gone through.

I remember coming here with my grandma a few times when I was in undergrad, but I've visited here…read moretwice within the month and I'll speak to those experiences. My grandfather died at the beginning of the month and because my grandmother attends Mt. Moriah, they held the service and interment. Pastor Edwards passed away a few months ago, so Min. Randall is currently leading services. Her Word was a little ramblely, but most Baptist sermons are so I wasn't upset. The funeral was extremely efficient. Started at 11, we were walking out at 12:03. My grandmother was pleased. I returned the next week to go to church with my grandmother. Again, services didn't ramble on. Sunday School was actually enjoyable as you could tell everyone regarded each other like a close knit church family does. I really enjoyed the entire service and will be back with my grandma again.
