I check out the new releases, the semi new releases and the head upstairs to check out the magazines and cookbooks. Love this library. So well organized and everyone is super helpful. There is a great area for kids. Lots of free classes. It's easy to reserve meeting rooms. The second floor, accessible by steps or stairs has a computer lab and copiers available; like having a private office. Your library card gets you so much more than books...multi media access, free classes, notary services, office space. I always take advantage of the free $5.00 monthly allowance for copies. You can browse online and reserve books for pickup. read more

This library is SO nice. It's eye catching and super big, lots of parking and easy to see off of Gravois. I typically go to Oak Bend, but it's closed on Sunday. This one is open, which was much appreciated as I wanted to find a good book to read on a cold Sunday. The space is clean and full of genres and different areas to read and work. The computers make the"put on hold" system a breeze, and the staff was helpful! I'd definitely return. read more

Beautiful, modern, spacious library super close to me with plenty of parking, and a lot of natural light when you get in. This is my go-to when I reserve books or just want to go to a library for quiet time. They have events for children and adults, easy drop off for books you're returning and a nice place, in general. They have self check outs, but if you need help or have issues with certain books you're checking out, they also have some helpful staff available to assist. When you reserve books, they have them marked in alphabetical order and ready to go on a bookshelf to the left of the entrance. What I usually do is wait for the text to come in, head over, and get my books. Very easy process! Lots to do more than just renting books. Wide variety of activities for adults and children, to events, to author visits. You can even check out puzzles and kits. Librarians are very friendly and helpful. I can never find the right book without them, and I feel safe at home here at the library. Translation: I go here all the time because it's awesome! The place is very big too, wide spread of books and activities as told. I can't wait to come here for craft night! read more

This is a beautiful and very modern branch. I love stopping by this library when I have time. It's truly gorgeous, and has a lot of selection. Edit: someone asked me what I meant by modern. Modern as in, high-tech, new and clean. Some may say sterile but I enjoy the white walls and simplistic design. read more

I love this library!! It's my favorite branch out of all the ones I've been to in the city and county. I have library cards in both systems and have been to many of the locations. Even though there's a library 5 minutes from my house, if I have the time, I like to take my older kiddo here, 15-20 minutes away. The kid's area is really big and bright and has a lot of adult and kid seating. Other than books, there are many things to keep my kiddo busy and happy like magnetic building tiles, foam building blocks, and other cool stuff. They have a story time / activity room that my daughter likes to play in. It's closed off so I don't have to worry about her running off or being too loud (she's an energetic toddler). The adult books are upstairs, as well as some quiet study rooms and more seating. One thing I love about this library is all of the windows that let in so much natural light. And since it's across from Grant's Farm, sometimes you can see some animals hanging out. Other things I like about this branch: - The book return is fun! My toddler enjoys putting books on the return table slot and watching the conveyor belt take them to the back. - So many self service options for when you're in a hurry or just not in the mood to talk to other humans. You can pick up books you requested and check them out on your own. - You can check out musical instruments! They have a guitar, djembe, xylophone, and some other stuff that I don't remember. It's a really cool option! Also, the staff are friendly, happy, and helpful. Have I convinced you yet? Go and check it out! (Pun not intended but oh well...) p.s. If you are looking for a library for children, look no further! This location is updated, clean, and beautiful. The host a fun and developmentally-appropriate story time in a fantastic, dedicated room. Books are displayed in a way that makes it easy for little ones to pick out titles in their own. The children's section boast tables and chairs that make it easy for parents to sit down and read with their children. Additionally, there are lots of fun toys available for young children. I saw numerous staff members making a point of keeping the space clean and disinfected. There are a variety of programs offered that provide activities for any age. Truly one of the best libraries we've encountered! read more

Grant's View is the newest location to join the county branches. Located at the corner of Musick and Gravois, it has the most gorgeous views of Grant's Farm, ever. There's new development surrounding the building, and it's coming in quite nicely. As you can tell from my reviews, I have an affinity for libraries. The structure, quiet studies and endless amounts of literature?! Ugh! I can't take it. I've been this way as a child and have never changed. I don't think I want to. Beside, libraries are for us, for the community. They're FREE!! I'll always be an advocate for that. Grant's View is dope! It's spacious, modern with pops of color. There's literally something for everyone here to enjoy. Parking is plenty. The staff blankets both levels, so there's always someone available to assist. Come check this place out. You won't regret it. read more

The Grants View location is an interesting building. If you're into buildings, I think it's worth checking out just for it's modern design. It's good to see that design like this is being pursued instead of what it could of been. Both the inside and out are interesting. I can't say from a budget perspective whether it was worth it or not as I haven't researched construction costs, done a cost benefit analysis, etc or am I any kind of expert on library environment - as far as what works and what doesn't for the physical environment of what a library should consist of - and not sure how this would stack up. However, it is an impressive building both inside and out. Lots of character and that's nice to see in the suburbs these days. It seems like there's a lot of attention made to children and teens, which I think is great. It's great we have a free place for parents to take or send kids of all ages to do something fun, learn, interact, etc. I think it's also great that we as a society have places like this where anyone can go to use free informational and educational resources in a neat, modern, classy environment I noticed the furniture seems a little cheap and uncomfortable, but to their credit, if they spent $$$ on furniture everyone would be criticizing them for how much they spent, so that's kind of a no-win. read more

As a huge fan of libraries I was pretty disappointed by this new branch. I read that the library cost $16 mil to build, and yet everything inside seems so cheap. The furniture is cold plastic, the floor boards squeak loudly. There's not enough quiet space for reading/studying/working. It's a disaster. One thing I will say in favor of this place is that they do have a lot of power outlets...so if they were to get comfy furniture people could bring their laptops. What's the deal with the parking lot entrance too? Four lefts to get in?! I'm sticking with my Weber Road branch and quietly missing Tesson Ferry. read more

I live our library. Seriously. I do. But this new location is the pits. Whatever consultant they hired to map this place out and design it is a fraud. So the building is goofy and doesn't have anywhere near enough the store space for books. Long gone are the days when you could just browse. The old location seems to have had a better selection of books. Here is another one. You can't leave your younger kids to look at books while you peruse the adult sections. Because they put adults in the second floor. Kids section is on the ground floor near entrance. Duh! Obviously whoever designed this place needs to do just a bit more studying. Plus it's a very cumbersome entrance. You basically have to drive into a subdivision to get in. That said, the staff is friendly and they are pretty good about having the books you want when you request them online. I suppose this is the way libraries are going. Do your browsing online and then order the book to show up to your local library for pickup later. They've had a couple of kid events which have been ok. Overall it's a decent library, but the building looks cheaply built and a very goofy setup. So I'll give five stars to the staff. And negative one star to the designers. read more
