Might as well see what all the fuss was about. When you first walk up to the building, there are people there to open the doors/greet you. Walk into the building and there's a counter with coffee and teas. Walk further and there's a table with donuts. (Let me just say, any place that serves free food already gets a thumbs up in my book.) Walk into the auditorium to live music with colored lights and big screens (Hello, Sunday morning concert). There are people also in the auditorium to help you find a seat. The service itself wasn't bad. The day I went, there was a guest speaker from a church in LA. His "sermon" (if you can even call it that. It sure didn't feel like the typical sermon) was well-spoken with relevant points for the religious and non-religious. All in all, I wouldn't be against going back.

It was once said to me that Mass can be like a spaghetti dinner. With any spaghetti dinner, you'll always get fed, but the differences can be monumental. Now imagine a beautiful restaurant with ambient warm lighting, a table laid out with fine linens, warm candles flickering, and fine ornate dishes; servers dressed impeccably who are respectful and serve with love, food is delivered with utmost care and respect, prepared by a chef who cares deeply about providing wholesome, healthy ingredients and seasoned perfectly; all while beautiful music is orchestrated in the background. Visited this church on their annual kid's "Back to School Bash" celebration. Free for everyone,…read morethey handed out school supplies, Little Caesar's pizza slices, had games, inflatables, booths from local businesses, a climbing wall tower, even a short zip line. We showed up early, but already the line to get in was long and snaking through the gym and church. Much of the staff was very friendly, making sure the kids all had a good time. But the event was very short. It took so long to get in, we only had enough time to eat and do a few games. Not enough time for many of the activities. Then while still full of attendees, men we had not seen before showed up and began tearing the place down. They took the tent down around tables full of diners. I overheard the group of men talking as if the visitors were just a nuisance, to heard them all off the property. It was very rude. So was it all for show?? Just an excuse to corner parents on which church they attend, get their information and cold call them at a later date? I'm not very religious, but my family goes to community activities wherever they may be as often as we can. It's a great way to get to know your community and neighbors. But never have I been asked which church I belong to so many times, over and over. It made the friendly smiles feel disingenuous. At first I thought it was nice to see them giving back to the community. But now I'm just not sure. Want to show off your facilities? Sure that's fine. But how about letting your actions speak for themselves and leave the recruiting for another day. Or if you must, relegate it to a handful of members, pin badges on them, invite visitors to ask questions. But let us come to you, not the other way around.

The staff and pastors are great…read more The church motto will tell you all you need to know about the heart of this church....We are learning to do 3 things, friendship with God, friendship with one another, and open friendship for the sake of the world. The preaching at the church is quite down to earth and easy to understand and at the same time stays true to teaching the bible and what it says. The have many great programs reaching out to the community around them. Youth and Children's groups are very active. They also host Celebrate Recovery on Thursday nights for people with hurts, habits or hang ups that most just don't understand. My only minor complaint is more of a personal preference than a complaint. Currently the music side of things could use some updating and revamping. With that said I don't go anywhere else when I am I home....to me this church is home.
