An absolutely amazing school with amazing no staff. The teachers care for your kids like their own. The parents are involved and the education is top notch. My older kids are now in College and St Marks misled them into the top of their classes later in life. read more

Good school if you have an above average or gifted student, otherwise don't bother. I found this school to be mostly about show-boating and a social status contest rather than genuinely caring about students. They care if your child meets their mold. My child was deemed behind. Had them tested to normal results. Tutor said curriculum was too advanced and not developmentally appropriate. The teacher, Ms. O in 4th grade could not be bothered, furthermore she had never taught the primary grades. Her remedy was "to hold my child back." Which seldom is done anymore. I also found school's principal nice but ineffective. To make a long story short, my child is now an honor student in high school. Its a nice school but wasn't a good fit for us. read more

I am disgusted and appalled by the actions of Linda Smith, the principal at this school. My 6-year-old child was questioned in front of his class by three adults because another child accused him of cutting her hair. There was zero evidence to support the accusation, my son did not even have scissors and the custodian found no hair in the classroom. The girl's mother noticed over a weekend that hair on the front side of her head next to her face had been cut and the little girl told her that a boy at school had cut it. My son did not know anything about whether it was cut or when and he was questioned by three adults in front of his peers until he was crying and repeatedly saying that he didn't do it. I was never notified by the principal of this allegation. The principal then suspended by 6 year old son and never EVEN CALLED MY HUSBAND AND I TO NOTIFY US. The next day, I called the school to speak to the principal and she had another woman call me back instead. I asked the woman what her position was and she said that she "worked in billing". I told her that it was completely unacceptable for the principal to send someone else to call me on this issue who does not even handle these matters. The principal then called me later and I asked her what time she called me to tell me that another child made this accusation, and she said that she never did. I asked her what time she called me told notify me of the suspension, and she said she never did. I asked her why my 6 year old was questioned by three adults in front of all of his peers and accused repeatedly of this, and she said: "Sorry about that." I then told her that I wanted the names and phone numbers for the School Board and she refused to give it to me. She said that I needed to submit any grievances to her--even if they involved her lack of professionalism and embarrassing and demeaning treatment of a 6-year old. I then said that I was going to file a grievance with the state education agency and I could hear a man say in the background: "we are a private school and do not need to comply with state requirements". I asked her whether I was on speaker phone and whether other people were listening and why I was not told that at the beginning of the call, and she said: "that was her finance guy." I am still shocked by the complete lack of regard from a school administrator whose job it is to safeguard children in a Christian environment. This individual does not model Christian values, does not care about your child, and will treat parents like complete garbage. Stay away! read more

St. Mark's School is a loving, caring enviroment. It is a very nice school and is providing my children with a wonderful education. The only thing wrong with the school? It's too small and they do not allow rolling backpacks in middle school. read more

My children have been at St. Mark's for 10 years and they have received an exceptional education, been showered with love and made friends that will last a lifetime. The curriculum is amazing and the children at St. Mark's rank among the highest in state and national testing scores. The enrichment programs are wonderful and the fact that my children have chapel at school is such a blessing. Their sports programs are fantastic and many of the teams have won the city championship year after year. My children will be at St. Mark's until they both graduate 8th grade in a few more years and will be beyond prepared when they get to high school. I highly recommend St. Mark's to anyone who wants their children challenged, loved and blessed! read more

Unfortunately, our child did not have a good 1st year at St. Mark's. I realize part of the problem was our child was already behind academically coming from their previous school. However, beyond recommendations from our child's fourth grade teacher to enroll our child in tutoring & have them tested, their teacher offered little else on her behalf. Never once did she offer to stay after school or to work w/our child one-on-one. It was all on us to "fix the problem" & fast. We tried & spent quite a bit of money on outside resources, on top of what we were already spending in tuition for, ultimately, our child to fail. While I had no problem retaining our child. For the amount we spent on tuition, I would have liked more & better results, especially since this was strictly an academic deficiency & not behavioral. Also, found this school cliquish & favoring children/families of a certain " higher income bracket" & "social standing." To top it off, the curriculum was one to two years above grade level. While this school may be good for gifted or above average, you're on your own if your child is struggling. To me this school is all for show, & feel like they only care about & want a certain kind of student, Our child finished the year but will not be returning & I would not recommend St Mark's. read more
