Though, that's not to say that my enjoyment is purely sentimental, for there is more to this church and its ministry. Specifically, there is truth present here, of a deep, profound, and powerful nature. Seen as much in the overt service as in the underlying "energy," this authenticity is, for me, worth it's weight in gold. Such an integrity of spirit, combined with the warmth and sanctuary offered by the church's congregation, is, in my opinion, the hallmark of genuine knowledge, and I am grateful to have been its recipient on my visits to Unity of Flushing. It always feels to be great how we are keeping the Sikh faith alive. People from all faiths and religions are always welcomed. There is a concept of community kitchen in Sikhism where everbody is served free food. One must visit it over Sunday when they have special darbar(gathering) sahib. This church is part of the Assemblies of God denomination, which is charismatic. If you don't know…read morewhat charismatic means, it simply means denominations, groups and individuals that believe God still does the same stuff like He did when the church started: healed people; prophecy being experienced; people experiencing miracles. Charismatic can be individual and not tied to the church. For example, say you believe that God still heals people today but your church doesn't, that means your charismatic. It's a simple label to help identify those who believe this way or not. Christians that aren't charismatic are basically people who see the Bible as the all you need to know, God wishes you the best and He'll be waiting for you in heaven. It should be noted that this church is predominately Korean. There's only a few handful that isn't and I literally mean handful, which I'm part of that hand. Even though it is mainly composed of one race, this is very welcoming. K-Pop fans, you're going to love this place! And seriously you do feel God's love here, due to the warming and caring nature. The service is laid back, contemporary. It isn't the crazy charismatic kind that you might see on TV, where people are yelling and all disorderly. Sermons great and the Pastor he's one of these young hip guys and no, he doesn't have an accent. This is a great place to develop friendships and closeness to God, I highly recommend this place.
