This parish is beautiful and reverent. The people are friendly and welcoming, and the pastor really cares about the people.

Good message, great music and warm friendly people! I would…read morehighly recommend and they have many opportunities for growth in Christ.

I visited this church twice, and while the people were friendly, the message from the pastor (Eric)…read morewas deeply troubling. The pastor made several statements that, in my view, misrepresented the heart and character of God, including implying that sickness, cancer, miscarriage (the loss of a child) might somehow be part of God's will. As someone who has personally experienced miscarriage, this was incredibly painful to hear from the pulpit. According to Scripture, God is a healer, restorer, and life-giver. Jesus healed all who came to Him. The Bible says every good and perfect gift comes from above, and it's the thief who steals, kills, and destroys, not God. Teaching that tragedy or sickness may come from God creates confusion and fear, not faith. From my perspective, this message was not led by the Holy Spirit. Churches that teach this way unintentionally create spiritually handicapped Christians -- people who love God but never walk in the authority, power, and partnership that Scripture clearly says we are meant to carry. I also reached out privately to share my concerns but never received a way to contact the pastor directly. I genuinely appreciated how welcoming the congregation was, but the theology communicated from the platform does not align with the God of Scripture. A God who heals, comforts, restores, and never takes children away or wills sickness over His people. I hope this church reconsiders how it represents God's character. I pray the truth will invade their hearts in Jesus name.

My wife and I have found a home community and family at First Baptist Church of Grass Valley. We felt welcome from the first time we stepped in the door 3 years ago. This is no perfect church, since all churches are filled with imperfect people. But, it is a good church, doing good in the surrounding community, training the followers of Jesus to grow by teaching the Bible, supporting and sending missionaries beyond our region of the world, and praying fervently and consistently. I recommend First Baptist Church to anyone who is seeking a local church to call home or who wants to know who Jesus is. I hope to see you there!

The congregation and church staff are warm and welcoming, friendly and approachable, so there is always someone to connect with in my view - all ages welcome! I have had the wonderful opportunity to participate in many activities the church provides - missions trips, kids ministry, an awesome Christmas and Easter program. So whether I'm watching or participating, I love the gifts of outreach they provide to the community, and the giving and biblical heart they portray, with a sound biblical foundation and wonderful hymns - both traditional and new (depending on your preference there is a service for you!). If you haven't been, or are looking for a place to worship, stop by!!
