I did however recently spend a weekend on the campus familiarizing myself with the grounds and availing myself of the facilities. The campus is spread across 300 acres along the Farmington River. Most of the campus buildings are located inside a mile loop surrounded by sprawling fields that include a football field, several baseball and soccer fields and tennis courts. The campus also has an art museum, concert hall, greenhouse and chicken coop. There is a large athletic facility with an 8 lane 25 yard swimming pool. The dorms are clean and well updated. The interiors were all well maintained with clean carpets and freshly painted walls. Every thing looks like it has been recently renovated and doesn't have the worn out institutional feel a lot of dorms I've seen have. I only had a chance to see a small part of the campus but what I saw was very impressive. While at Loomis I went jogging along the mile loop around campus, went sledding near the river, and went swimming in the indoor pool. Overall Loomis Chaffee has a beautiful campus that feels more like a small liberal arts college than a high school and gives you the feeling of being nestled away deep into the heart of New England. The school has an excellent academic reputation and a particularly good history department. There is a lot of support, either from teachers (mostly living on campus) or student tutoring centers. Student body is a mix of all nationalities and every kind of background. Everyone can be his or her self in this community. It is not at all pretentious, rather, the atmosphere is pretty down to earth. If you are lucky enough to be admitted, it's a great place to enjoy high school. There is something for everyone, and even after spending four years there, it's hard to take advantage of everything the school has to offer! There are so many opportunities. The coursework is demanding at any level, so be ready to study. You will not have a lot of free time, as everything is very structured. AP courses are no longer offered here, they only offer regular courses, honors, and CL. Courses on offer go to very high levels.

Many students fresh out of high school think that going here will look "bad" in the long run when transferring, and finding a career, but I strongly disagree. Professors Valerie Royals and Dr. David Rodgers are great. I took classes in communications, micro/macro economics, financial/managerial accounting, all of my general ed classes, etc. And guess what? They ALL transferred to the University of Hartford, all 60 credits. Many of the full time staff and adjunct teachers have real-world experience and incorporate that into every day lessons. Some also teach part time or night classes at UCONN or UHART. I also remember having a professor in marketing who worked full-time for Pfizer, and a professor and mathematics who works full-time at the Hartford. I can't guarantee that those same people will still be there now, but when I can tell you is that this experience was not only great, but I was able to commute from my house extremely easily, and it saved me tons of money! I am now out of college debt-free because I started off I community college. To put it in perspective, I spent two years here, that's four total semesters as well as a few summer classes here and there to speed up the process. Each semester ran me about $1750 not including books. Books or anywhere from $3-$500 depending on the semester. This is pennies on the dollar compared to the university I transferred to! I also can't say with 100% confidence these prices because are the same because this was about 3+ years ago and I'm sure they have risen but they are most definitely cheaper then any state school or university! Some other perks about Northwestern are: free printing from the library, free tutoring assistance for classes, small class sizes, office hours with professors, opportunity for extra credit, activities part provided by the school and clubs to participate in!

One English major, one molecular bio, one neuroscience + Korean double major, one still deciding but maybe comp sci/ astrophysics This is a magical school. Professors are excellent teachers and tops in their fields. They care about teaching and their students. More science funding than any other small school. More NSF funded professors than any other school. More foreign languages taught than any other school. Best film department in the country. Big telescopes. Yes it's weird and proud of it. Non- conformist students who want to create new ways of solving issues. Diversity university and proud of it. Read President Roth's books and articles. No core coursework outside the major Everyone here did well in high school and took advanced classes. Wes trusts its students to explore the curriculum. The academic freedom makes it easier to double major as well. The city of Middletown has enough to satisfy, but this is not a " college town" and wes knows that. So they provide so much to do that students don't want to leave on the weekend or evenings: theater, movies 4 nights a week, music series, dance series, lectures plus spring fling. Students pile on even more student-run music, dance, theater, clubs, parties. Best housing: more single rooms, more student housing options with kitchens, meal plan that you can use to buy groceries. Bathroom grade: A. Yep, they have plenty of gender neutral and ADA options.

Secondly it's unfortunate there are people in this world who hold a grudge against a potential employer simply because a job interview didn't turn out the way they intended. Can you say "sour grapes"? I doubt their employment seeking experience reflects the actual student experience at Wesleyan University in any way, shape or form. Now I don't pretend to know everything about this school. I'll leave that to the REAL students. But I will tell you that the harsh criticism of the school and the town of Middletown is undeserved. It's unfair. How an outsider can walk around a campus and a street for a few days and conclude that others should stay away is beyond me. It's unfathomable. Everyone I know who graduated from Wesleyan loved it. The school holds an exemplary reputation throughout the state of Connecticut. I sometimes hire for my company and I would personally hire a Wesleyan grad any day over some dumb Stanford or UPenn grad. It's a no brainer, especially after my recent experience in dealing with the ilk of people from those two schools. Despite the fact that the money we paid was for childcare services, the school refused to return the portion of our payment for services that were never provided. When I requested a refund, I was denied. Instead, the school attempted to characterize the money as a "donation," even though that was never what we agreed to pay for and the payment was clearly made for childcare. I have documented everything and have already reported the matter to the appropriate government agencies and contacted corporate. I am pursuing every available avenue to recover money that I believe was improperly retained, including legal action if necessary. Parents should know exactly how this business handles their money when circumstances change. I strongly recommend reading your contract carefully, documenting every payment and conversation, and knowing your rights before trusting this school with your children or your money. We aren't simply going to walk away from this. The appropriate authorities can review the facts and determine whether the school's actions were appropriate. Think twice before giving this business your money.

From what I have seen, the program can feel extremely unforgiving when a student struggles academically. A student can put an incredible amount of time, effort, and money into pursuing this degree, yet one difficult course or grade can potentially have major consequences for their ability to continue progressing through the program. For a doctorate-level healthcare program that is already extremely demanding, I think there should be a stronger emphasis on helping students improve and succeed rather than making them feel like one setback can determine their entire future. What bothered me most was seeing how much stress and uncertainty this can create for someone who genuinely wants to become a physical therapist and has worked extremely hard toward that goal. Graduate programs should absolutely maintain high academic standards, especially in healthcare, but high standards and meaningful student support should be able to exist at the same time. If you are considering UHart for DPT, I would seriously recommend asking detailed questions about minimum grade requirements, what happens if you do not meet them, remediation opportunities, repeating courses, dismissal/progression policies, and what academic support is actually available before enrolling. I wish these policies and their potential consequences were something prospective students understood more clearly from the beginning. For the amount of money, time, and emotional investment required to pursue a DPT, students deserve a program that challenges them while also giving them a reasonable opportunity to recover from an academic setback and demonstrate that they are capable of succeeding.

The bursars office and administration are some of the rudest people I have ever met in my life (and I work in an ER) if that says anything. They are the least helpful people. All they want is your money and that's it. 2.The teachers are not kind whatsoever. They don't help the students at all. They don't respond to their emails. My math teacher (she was the only russian math teacher there) literally bullied me the entire semester I was there. During finals, in the middle of the class she word for word said out loud "i don't know why you're here when you're going to fail it anyways." to me DURING MY FINAL. 3. When trying to withdrawal from a class, I had to email my professor asking her to sign the form. She responded to my email "Who are you?" when I had already went to about 6-7 of her classes. When I responded, she never responded back to me which resulted in me getting charged for the class. 4. The president of academic affairs literally got arrested for kidnapping and assaulting the students on campus. Look it up. 5. The school in its entirety, is an absolute dump. It's extremely depressing. (Oh and for the students that are reading this that are thinking about coming here, I'm just going to let you know now that there are literally no parties, NB police shuts them down before they even start) 6. I really hate to say this but CCSU has a very bad reputation of sexual assaults occurring on campus. A lot of my friends went here as well and every single one has gotten sexually assaulted here (some even more than once.) The school has done nothing about it. When you are done attending CCSU, they tell you you need to pay your tuition in 6 months otherwise it goes into collections. I'm sorry, but I did not have $10,000 laying around nor was I going to be able to come up with 10g's in 6 months. (What a Joke) They also did not even try to work with me or help me they gave me that one option and that was it. AND if you don't pay in full, they will not release your transcript to you. (if you were transferring schools/going back to school, etc) All in all, this school is absolutely terrible. I would not go back here or recommend this school to anyone. It's not just me who didn't like it either, everyone Ive talked to hated it and had an awful experience. I basically summed up what had happened to me while i was at CCSU and sent it to the president of the school and all she responded with was "would you like to give me a call" literally that was it (and the email I sent was probably 3 paragraphs long) Terrible staff, terrible campus, terrible FOOD, terrible extra curricular programs. Everything about this school is awful. HOWEVER, I did like my advisor a lot, she was very caring and kind and really tried to help me. The entire place seemed to genuinely care about the well being of my child. They have church service 1x a week, and say prayers daily (and The Pledge). My family is not catholic but that was okay. Instruction included music and gym. We had trouble affording the uniform and they allowed us to use used ones until we could buy them. Tuition can be made in payments. And the lunches are varied which is nice. While my child was in Kindergarten, I saw the older kids in the hallway. They were all so respectful. Overall, a very positive experience. If I HAD to come up with a negative, I would elect for gym class more often, and add foreign language instruction at the lower 'grades'
