So many things going on at this parish! I wish they were closer -- I would visit more often. Saint Carlos' shrine is magnificent. Beautiful grounds and church/chapel layout. Never felt like a stranger here. They offer two rites of the sacred liturgy of the Mass here including the Ordinary Form (English) and the Extraordinary Form (Latin). Both are valid, efficacious, and edifying so it merely depends on personal preference. Parking is plentiful and the grounds are very well maintained. Of course when we are here we're visiting with family members so it's always a wonderful celebration of being together while offering sacrifice and praise to God for all He has given us. Really enjoyed Father's homily and the ambience of the church was prayerful and peaceful. I was here years ago during a special memorial Mass in honor of St Maximilian Kolbe but didn't remember too many details. Loved how the church is pretty much situated in a housing neighborhood giving the environs a quiet feel. There's lots of parking as I imagine on weekends it must get quite crowded. Added joy was that after Mass, Father brought out the Monstrance containing the Blessed Sacrament of our Lord's sacred Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Stayed for Adoration and confession afterwards. So grateful to Father for offering the sacrament of reconciliation since we missed our usual time during first Saturday due to airline travel. The priest is very young and fervent and we could see he loves Our Lord very much. Hope to stop by in the future if our travels bring us this way again. Mahalo for reading my review.

Rosaries recited…read morehalf hour prior, and the small Blessed Sacrament chapel is often filled to capacity (about 60 regulars which for weekday Masses is considered large). It's also fairly peaceful and quiet if you come early when the chapel first opens and we definitely recommend tine in Adoration, which they also conduct immediately after the weekday mass concludes. Everyone is kind and welcoming and since we Hawaiians stand out (we're the only ones wearing parkas on a 50 degree Fahrenheit day!) we are always warmly greeted more as family than as visitors. I've also attended midnight Mass (Christmas) a few years back and the main church is also very beautiful and welcoming. Will definitely return the next time we visit. Mahalo for reading my review.

Ample parking though it does get very crowded getting in and out on Mantoloking road. We have come here to get mass cards which you can get next door at the rectory. Also, next door, which used to be a garden store, it is now part of the Church and is a relief center which accepts second hand donations and also sells items to support the church. More information is available on the church website. Designed 60 years before Vatican II era, this beautiful house of worship is situated "ad orientum", so that the rising sun (typeology of Christ's resurrection) enters the rose window at the narthex and shines on the holy altar where His Sacrifice is re-presented. The interior is filled with architectural elements commensurate with orientating the human senses to the contemplation of God and the Holy Trinity. The marbled carved altar shows the last Supper in relief and the figures are exquisitely sculpted. There are many liturgies throughout the week, multiple Mass and confession times and the community parish is open, welcoming and thriving as testament to the pastoral excellence of the Franciscan friars in residence here.
