One of the elders taught the class. The worship service started with the worship leader directing acapella singing, assisted by a miked praise team seated near the front. The Connections Minister, one woman I met before class, offered a welcome and made some announcements. The sermon was delivered by a fellow who filled in, because the regular preacher was away for Christmas. He was well-prepared, and offered a challenge to eliminate selfishness. Communion was led by one guy at the front, assisted by ushers who came up from the back to pass around individual wafers and then individual cups of non-fermented grape juice. The offering was led by a different guy, and he clearly announced that visitors and guest were not expected to give. One of the elders closed the service with a benediction.
