We were visiting the area- we contacted the business to purchase an extensive list of fresh food for our stay. Everyone we spoke to via email and phone were very helpful and understanding. Very happy with my visit. My one of three fur babies has been diagnosed with kidney failure. After doing some research online I decided to switch all my animals to raw foods. The girls working today were great very knowledgeable about the items they were selling. I have some frozen partially cooked raw food a few cans of healthy food for my kidney guy and some pretty cool snacks. The dogs are already nuts for the chicken chips - like love them! The first thing I was asked was my budget, which I found really considerate. So, I will let my puppies feast on some healthy options - so glad I found this little shop. read more

GREAT little store that serves quality options!! I'm a big proponent of feeding your animals the best possible diet they can have. For the past 15 years I've fed a RAW diet, but used to have to drive a few towns over to the one store in my area that sold good quality raw food. It's awesome to see that it's really becoming mainstream. It's so great to be able to travel and find the same great quality food anywhere and not struggle or worry about how i'm going to feed my dogs. This is a smaller, boutique-style store but they try to pack a lot of quality options in there. The employees were really kind, too. I was looking for something specific and called ahead to see if they had it. the girl on the phone said they do carry the brand but wasn't 100% sure if the treats they had were the ones i wanted, but she said if it's not that she could most likely order it for me. I LOVE that kind of customer service! That's how you get people to come back. Luckily they did have what i was looking for, which was fabulous. And whoever helped me in-store was helpful. Besides food, they seemed to have the staples that most people would be looking for: Shampoos, Brushes, harnesses/leashes/collars, treats, poop-bags, etc.... Definitely recommend them if you're in the area and need dog or cat items!! They have GOOD QUALITY stuff, not the crap food you buy at wal-mart. read more

Amazing local pet food and supply store! I came in here for the first time, looking for raw frozen dog food and they had all the selection of Stella and Chewy proteins!! I was greeted warmly when I entered and I signed up for their rewards system. I believe she said the 12th or 13th bag of dog food was free. Anyways, I would definitely be back! They have a large variety of natural healthy food to pick from! Prices are what other places mark as well. I would be coming back due to the selection of food and the rewards program. I am so happy I decided to try this place out! My dog is such a picky eater and it's been always been a struggle to find a diet he likes and will eat consistently. Today I visited St Petersbark and explained my situation to the employee there. She was so incredibly helpful and suggested a few different options for me based on my situation. You could tell she was very knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to help me. Anyway I get home and prepare my dogs dinner tonight with the new food I picked up, he was hesitant to eat at first then couple smells later & he finished the entire bowl. It was such a relief because it's always been so stressful trying to find something he likes and now I feel confident he will have a consistent diet with this new food! What a great little pet store! I have to buy grain free food for my dog since he has a really sensitive stomach and I am happy to have found a local spot that carries lots of good products for him. If you're looking for any type of natural pet food for your four-legged friend, this is a really good spot. The store isn't massive by any means, but it's well-stocked with plenty of different brands of dog food and treats. Saint Petersbark also has flea protection products as well as a pretty good variety of dog toys too. The lady working here is very friendly and made sure to ask if I needed help with anything. She also offered to put me on their email list so I could get special offers and a newsletter! Overall a really cute pet store and I'll definitely come back in the future! read more

Small shop but wow do they have a lot of product! All of their food is high quality - both kibble as well as raw. They have some great treats too - unfortunately my picky German Shepherd hasn't been enthusiastic about any in particular. Oh well, you'll have that. But the real score here is the dog toys! They sell the "indestructible" brands. Double stitched, really hard to pull apart. We got him several for Christmas and I can say - so far so good!!! Now that we have moved, I'm hoping to find a place here that is similar - but if you are in St Pete, definitely check this place out. read more

Such a wonderful pet supply store! The employees genuinely love animals and care about each one that walks through their door. They're ready with treats and are very knowledgeable and attentive. St Petersbark also collaborates with local businesses to host events like nail trims or baths. The prices may be just a dollar or two more than ordering online or going to a big box store, but that one extra dollar is going to support our local community rather than a corporation that discriminate against certain breeds (looking at you PetSmart). read more

UPDATE: I am changing my review from three to five stars because the owner Krista has gone out of her way to resolve the issues that I listed below and apologized for the incorrect communication and lack of offer to help by the employees. Hopefully the rest of my experiences are better. Very small store but they have a decent range of quality products given the size of the store. Prices are fairly reasonable for the products. Kind of disappointed with the service though. I've definitely had better service at other comparable stores (not talking Petsmart). Had an issue with their communication over the "but 12 bags, get 1 free" program and the deadlines. Last time I was in the store, I checked where I was at, and I was told I had to get my last bag in June based on my history. Today, I was told May 15th. When I asked what happened to June since I was in the store just a month ago, the clerk checked again and changed the date to May 5th - less than a week from today. Not helpful. So I got my free bag today even though my dogs won't be eating the other for awhile, and I just won't be returning despite my desire to support a local store - especially one with Tech grads. The worst part - I was carrying two big bags of food out to my car and guess who offered to help me! Not either of the two employees at the front helping the one lady behind me; the lady behind me is the one who offered assistance. So yeah, moving my business elsewhere. read more

It does not get any better. This is an all natural organic pet food and supply store. Krista keeps the environment VERY clean and friendly. There's everything from dog toys and leashes to home-made treats and high-end dog and cat foods. She has grooming supplies and first aid kits, training classes and I am sure I am missing many things! Something that truly stands out to me is the owner's care for the community. Krista brings in other local businesses that offer pet related services, having them set up tents out front. I love this shop-- very friendly and helpful staff, cute location, carries only high quality food. The store is definitely more dog-centric. I really wish they had more cat items so that it could be my one stop shop, but they are happy to place orders for me when I want foods that they don't have in stock at the store. Overall, it's definitely my favorite pet store in Saint Pete. I just wish they had a bigger selection so that I wouldn't have to go to any other pet stores to finish off my spoiled cat's grocery shopping. read more

This is such a great dog store! If you want to feed your dog's organic and natural foods, St. Petersbark has it all. There are so many dry and wet food choices. I love feeding my dogs cocolicious (made with coconut oil). My dogs also devour the lamb lung treats made by the owner. The owner makes dehydrated treats and simple ingredient biscuts. You can also pick up collars, toys, and bones. There is also raw food available. And the store has a loyalty program with certain food brands: buy 12 get 13th free. I've always had great and friendly service when I've visited and will no longer go anywhere else to buy my doggies favorites! read more

You HAVE to go try the owner's homemade dog treats which she makes naturally from meat, liver, and duck, etc. I know they're good because my dog hates all processed dog foods and he's so picky, hates milkbones, etc. but he LOVED all the meats in the sample pack. It's great to find an affordable healthy snack for him. Also, I bought a great squeaky chicken that is the best on earth! It has crackly wings, a squeaker in each foot, the head, and a big squeaker in the body, made out of textured fabric. HE SPENDS ALL NIGHT AND DAY WITH THIS CHICKEN TOY! read more

Excellent little store for those of us who want to feed our pets the purest, most high-quality diet possible. Though the store is small compared to the Big Box pet food retailers, they have a far bigger selection for me than those stores do, because I won't buy anything with wheat in it, for example, or with junk/fillers. All the food at St. Petersbark is very nutrient-dense and junk-free. They also sell a good selection of items like harnesses, leashes, oh--and their own brand of really pure, fabu treats. I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because they definitely deserve it. The owner Krista is so helpful on my pets needs every time I go in. She's given me samples for a recommended food for Mia in the past which is awesome that she offers that and tells me knowledgeable information on her products. So many different food options for pet food and treats to choose from here that you feel excited to give to your pet knowing it has such limited ingredients. When Mia and I pull up here you can tell how excited she gets knowing she's going inside to get some yummy treats and a nice hello from the girls inside. read more

One of the cutest shops in St. Pete for animal lovers! The workers were very delightful and eager to help me when coming in for my first time. Very reasonable prices too! They have little sample bags to make sure your animal likes the food before buying it which is amazing so that way you're not wasting money on something that your pet will hate. I love StPetersbark, they have healthy food and treat options for my dogs. The owners are extremely knowledgable on food products on the market and what fits my dogs needs as she has colitis issues and most foods make her sick. I worked with Krista and we now have her on a food that works great for her. I also have a new puppy and they have been great helping with teething items and suggestions and they have worked to have a trainer hold puppies classes which has been great. I love that you can walk in their store they know your name and your pets names and spoil them as they were their own pets.
