I attended a Catholic wedding at St. William Catholic Church on St. Simons Island. The church…read moreproved to be a beautiful venue for the wedding, which also included a full Catholic Mass. The pastor of the church, Monsignor John Kenneally, officially wed the couple and conducted the entire ceremony from start to finish. Msgr. Kenneally is Irish. He spoke eloquently and seemed to command the hundreds inside the room. The church hall is grandiose and spacious. It has a simple and functional design. Excellent acoustics and lighting and minimal decor. As far as churches go, its condition seemed relatively new. The hall has vaulted ceilings. In the center of the ceiling are glass windows, which allow natural sunlight to shine down. It made the space feel even more open and airy. The stage where the Father presided was big and wide and served as an ideal backdrop for wedding photos. The traditional Catholic wedding was completed without a hitch and it was a job well done by St. William.
