After paying Tyson Innovations to install a 30 AMP outlet for my RV, I had to contact Coastal All…read moreTrades when the outlet did not work and almost fried my RV electrical system due to a wrong outlet with to much power being installed. After explaining the problem Costal rushed out the same day and was shocked that Tyson, who is not a licensed electrician, completely screwed up my installation. Not only was the wrong outlet put in but the wires were so loose that if they had come loose l, and connected to the box it could have killed anyone coming in contact with the exterior box. I highly recommend Coastal, a licensed electrician should you need electrical work done.

Although the business owner was quite pleasant initially, this was one of the worst experiences I…read morehave had with any contractor. I requested to have my large shed properly wired and add 4 to 6 outlet boxes. Granted the shed was wired properly already approximately 85%. I also indicated that I needed to add approximately 4 to 6 additional outlets. Yelp provided me with a few contractor options - many of which reviews were extremely low. I selected Coastal All Trades which is a misnomer as you will discover later in this review. I was contacted by the owner Justin P. My first concern was that Justin agreed to arrive at my home at 9:00 am the next morning. He did not show up a 9:00 am. I attempted to contact him via phone and text several times. I do not know the readers of this review, but my time is important too. I informed Justin that: "Ok, you are not responding back, so I am sure you are planning on not coming out. Customers would truly appreciate you just telling them that you are not available and do not waste their time. Of course, I will take the time to leave a proper review." He finally contacted me and told me he did not receive my text messages. He said he would arrive at 12:00 am that same day. Justin arrived around noon with an employee of his. I explained what I needed again. I explained my shed lights would not come on. He and his employee worked on my shed. Justin told me that there was a blown fuse in the box. He changed the fuse and the lights worked at this point. Justin told me that my fuse box was 30 amps and it is outdated. It needs to be changed. So, I purchased a new fuse box, and Justin installed the new fuse box. He did not properly secure the fuse box to the wall. Literally, when you touch the fuse box, you could easily wiggle it. Justin and his employee continued to work on the wiring while I completed other task at my home. Justin called me and asked me to turn the power on so he could test the new wiring in the shed. I did. Moments later I received another phone call from Justin who frantically told me to turn the power off. I did. I went to my front porch and noticed smoke coming from my shed. Justin informed me that the wire providing power that ran from my home was not adequate to supply power to the shed which cause the wire to catch on fire. Justin was able to put the fire out, but he and his employee left the burnt wire in place. Later, Justin told me that he resolved the issue. So, I followed him to my shed to see what he had accomplished prior to paying him and him leaving. Although I supplied Justin with covers for the junction boxes and wire caps, the junction boxes had exposed wires sticking out of them. In fact, I observed an expose hot electrical wire dangling from an entrance inside my shed - I do have children who visit our shed on a frequent basis. When I questioned Justin about the exposed wire and the hot hanging wire, he told me to put end caps on the dangling hot wire and that I can place the covers on the outlet boxes. Justin informed me that he was able to get the electricity to work in the shed, however, I would not be able to turn the lights on and off at the shed light switch or fuse box. He told me that it was unsafe for me to do so. Justin informed me that I would have to turn my shed power on and off at my house outlet box for my safety. Justin left and told me that he would send me an invoice. The repairs Justin made were very suspicious to say the least - You Think. I received his invoice and I told Justin that the lighting in my shed had to work properly before I would pay him. I asked how much it would cost to fix the problem. Justin told me approximately $500, but he would not come back to repair the issue until I paid him for the work he had already completed. Suspicious! Yes! I told him in that case, I needed a second opinion. Justin told me that he knows every electrician from Jacksonville Florida to South Carolina. I told Justin via text that we can discuss the concern via phone call. When Justin called me, again, I told Justin I needed a second opinion. At which time he began to curse me. I hung up. He continued to text me and called me cheat and stated things like "So this seems to me like you must do this to allot of people that work for you." Of course this is not the case; however, Justin did not do what he was hired to do. It got to the point where I had to block Justin's number. I did get a second opinion from a certified electrician who was baffled at the work that had been completed. Wiring was not done properly at the junction box. Some wiring was done properly throughout the shed. The certified electrician took photographs that I would like to upload. I have several before and after photos. I would like to upload them if Yelp will allow me to do so. Rightly so, I did not pay Justin. Yelp, this is the second time in a couple of weeks you have supplied me with individuals who have no idea of what they are doing. MSG CUT SHORT!
