That's about the only thing I can say about this Fest. Really, I just don't know. Lousy Vendors (MARCO'S PIZZA??) and few of them at that. We looked at the Fireworks they were going to shoot and weren't too impressed. All and all this Festival was Horrible...we actually left and went to Slidell and saw a better Fireworks display and The Molly Ringwald's. I respect what they were trying to do by keeping this alive. This fair has it going on! A huge pig roast, carnival rides, game booths, music, and cheap food…read moremake this an awesome school fair. My friends and I always make sure to hit this up every year no matter what else is going on. This year they had four pigs roasting at once so you had all kinds of pork options to munch on. I was told they had a total of over 5000 lbs of pork that they were serving at the fair! Other food options I saw were pizza, crawfish pies, funnel cakes, gumbo, and jambalaya. They also had nachos for $4.00, burgers for $2.50, and hot dogs for $1.50. How can you not like those cheap prices? As usual The Topcats closed out the final day with another great performance! The Topcats have been closing out the fair for the past few years and they never disappoint. I love Rob!! He gets the crowd so involved. Lots of school fairs, to me, are either boring or lame. This one is neither. It is everything a fair should be. Family-oriented, kid-friendly, great music, and great food.

They always have a big stage with very good live bands especially on Saturday afternoon and evening. Always plenty of great food and drinks available. They also have an area just for kids with shows and rides and stuff. There is a contest called the Quick n' Dirty which consists of teams building a boat on Saturday and Sunday morning, then on Sunday afternoon they parade their boats down the main festival area in hilarious and outrageous costumes. After the parade comes the highlight of the festival when they put their boats in the river and race. Always a hoot to watch, some go fast, some go slow, and then of course some sink! All of this fun on the banks of the Tchefuncte River in the month of October which is usually sunny but still cool enough to spend an enjoyable day by the river.

You have jousting, falconry, mead, and so many amazing costumes. People truly go all out. They even tried to say it wasn't about alcohol and sales but the i copied and pasted that 90% of the upgrades were additional alcohol vendors and bar upgrades and they banned me from the page. It's sadly gonna go the way of all other fairs in Louisiana. Attracting the wrong crowds, driving out the right crowds until its ruined. This breaks my heart. Been going 10 straight years almost ok st every weekend.I've seen 15-20 people online banned from LARF FB page. People are mad about the directions things are going. Your alienating the families and loyal customers who LARF means so much to. Each year for the last 2-3 years its been getting more over crowded and there have been more disorderly incidents. Families rely on season passes which were abundant last year. These complaints are not going to go away. I will be there in person as will a large group of my friends to let people know whats going on. Yall need to do the right thing. 90% of the upgrades listed on yalls page this year were pubs and additional drinking places. I know of multiple family toy and gift vendors who were asked not to come back to make room for this bs. They have contacted me. I have names of businesses youve done this too. I urge you to listen to the people before you destroy our love and LARF goes the same way of all the other fairs in LA. your going to start driving away the crowds that built it and love it. About 20 minutes south east of the heart of New Orleans, there is this annual festival. In Arabi,…read morethere is one of the largest sugar refineries in the United States, a Domino sugar factory. They have done a lot for the community, was one of the largest employers in the area to reopen after Hurricane Katrina, in this area that was heavily damaged, and they helped their employees get back on their feet. They have refurbished the old parish jail down the street to a sugar museum which glosses over some of the major points, but does highlight a lot of how sugar came in to the area. This festival, held in Aycock Barn, which also houses the welcome center for St Bernard Parish, is small but family led. Domino Sugar also has a booth where they pass out 5lb bags of sugar, some recipes, and a few other knick knacks for free. There are booths with food for sale, knick knacks and other home made goods for sale. There is a band playing 80's cover songs. Very small, very cute, you can be done walking around in about 5 minutes. Parking is NOT bad at all. I was able to park across the street, for free. Seriously. There are all sorts of gifts for the upcoming holidays to buy, kids activities, beverages to drink, even a taste test for desserts, a competition and an eating competition. Amazing. What a quaint little festival! This is a perfect small town festival that is within an hours drive…read moreof New Orleans. Reasonably priced food and drinks. I am not sure what the cost for rides was. Little to no parking, but you have the neighbors selling spots for cheap to park on their lawn. Friendly atmosphere, with the festival queen walking around. The musicians and dancers were wonderful. You do have your holy roller people passing out candy and the word of the holy things. Lots of good food, dancing and people watching.
