As a composer, I rarely expected to find myself reviewing a church…read more I composed, arranged, and recorded the original music for Family Christian Center's long-running production, Jesus of Nazareth, under a written royalty agreement tied to ticket sales. That agreement was mutually revised in 2014 to reflect the production's continued use of my music. Royalty payments stopped in 2018. Over the years I've tried every private avenue I could think of, including invoices, emails, certified letters, documentation, and legal counsel. Earlier this year I was told leadership was reviewing the matter, but after providing everything they requested, communication once again stopped. I'm posting this only after exhausting every private and professional effort to resolve it. I remain hopeful that Family Christian Center's leadership will choose to address this in a manner consistent with the values it teaches.

Recently attended an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at Ridge United Methodist church…read more It began as an interesting mix of faiths. First, two Muslim clerics began by chanting their creed, a Byzantine Catholic litany was chanted, two Jewish rabbis offering congregants verses of Psalms, we had Sikhs with instruments did their presentation, then interjected by a couple of church hymns. Then to the podium comes Rev. Suzie Libtard with a prayer shawl of teddy bears depicted all over it. This Leftist fraud and phony disguised as a minister was nothing more than an opportunist who chose to so rudely impart her Socialist agenda of open borders, DACA dreamers, hate (yours of course, not hers), climate change and of course the upcoming election on an unaware audience. How f.....g rude! Where is my safe space from this Leftist Socialist assault on our country from within? I didn't come to this event, of which I was invited by a clergy member on the stage, to listen to her Democrat whimpering dribble. I got up and walked out. This Far Left bullsh.t has polluted every late night talk show, Hollywood movies and television news broadcasts and even a sporting event is not off limits to the Leftist Democrats and their cohorts in the mainstream media as they look to indoctrinate the rest of us with their Socialist agenda. I am totally disappointed in Ridge United Methodist church for permitting this event to become polarizing by allowing it to become politicized. Sadly, this is not the type of Thanksgiving event I had expected to attend. Moral of story... Politics and religion don't mix well.

People of the Book, not everyone will agree with what is printed in black in white but here there…read moreis no doubt that the truth is preached thrice weekly. The congregation is as expansive in backgrounds and cultures as is all of America. It is a microcosm of society. Hardly is it a cult since the definition of a cult is: "A relatively small group of people having religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or sinister." With a seating capacity of the main auditorium exceeding 7,500 and the Spanish auditorium exceeding 5,000 not including the other properties, extension/satellite ministries and chapels throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, this is far from a "small group." Strange? Yes, in this day in age, being righteous, i.e. following the commandments and faith taught throughout the Bible is a very strange thing indeed. That's why this whole world is going to hell in a handbasket so to speak. So yes, we are a peculiar people as is stated in the scriptures (Deuteronomy 14:2, Deuteronomy 26:18, Titus 2:14, 1Peter 2:9.) Sinister? Hardly. Unless of course you find helping people improve their relationship with God and eachother sinister. And while there is a "dress code" for the staff and most of the volunteers, it is not a requisite for attending or joining the church. The genuine change that is preferred is for a person to allow the Gospel of Christ to change them from within and then they themselves can change that of the outward appearance when they deem fit. "You don't get better to get Saved, you get Saved to get better." is a common expression used in this regard. I have been attending since August 2003 and participated in volunteering and outreach efforts throughout the years, I can assure you that First Baptist Church is for showing people they are loved and the way to Christ.

Anyone with solid theology and intelligence will get run out of this place quickly. The men who are lifted up are mediocre teachers or conmen and liars. Fools like to feel important, which is why so many attend here. These passages describe this place perfectly: "For the name of God is blasphemed among the nations through you, as it is written." Romans 2:25 "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:8-9 Put your roots down somewhere else and avoid this place like the plague and pray that those here who are redeemable seek a better church as soon as possible.
