Communication was excellent and we very happy. She is the A-Ok part and the reason for the stars. More recently however we have had dealings with Chris Hammond, the Managing Director, somewhat less successfully. We wanted a Thailand holiday based around accommodation we had already purchased via one of those online daily deals. We actually got in touch on two separate occasions as we decided to postpone it by a few months and both times he replied in a very disinterested tone then followed up with a very apathetic quote that he had clearly not spent more than a few minutes on. The options he provided were wildly expensive, despite my having made it clear budget was a big consideration. I ended up doing it myself for about half the price on Expedia. Bad form - I understand maybe most of their money is made on accommodation but if they weren't interested in our flights and transfers-only business they should have said so.

Our tour guide, Chris, was outgoing, friendly, provided local information as we drive through different regions, and funny. He kept the tour light and relaxing while entertaining. Incredibly accommodating and gracious. He kept us impeccably on time when we were among many other groups and different tours. I was incredibly impressed with this tour. Such an adventurous day complete with stellar service. Having experienced it myself now, I also highly recommend this tour service to anyone wanting to explore more of New Zealand's north island while here.

STA is the perfect travel agency to go through if you're a student wanting to travel. They are very accommodating and help point you in the right direction of the best deals you can get. Also never gave me a phone call when I booked my ticket! This is a horrible service. Then 9 days later I messaged a different agent to get me through to the original one and only then she replied? If she had responded to me earlier, the fees could have been less to change but since she took like 11 days, I was changed half the price I had been charged for my tickets. NO REFUNDS. This is the last time ill be using flight center.

My flight somehow got booked with a minor which stopped me from flying until I personally had to sort the issue out myself. Took an additional hour and missed the flight. Only response I got from them was that it's inconceivable they made a mistake and that it must be either American Air or I who screwed something up. This is the second time out of 2 they screwed up my booking (first was knowingly putting me with a back injury in emergency exit seat, which airline expressly forbids and put me in middle of an aisle seat). Do yourself a favour and book the flight yourself or with other agency.
