I first met her through a friend that was organizing a head shots evening for lots of professional friends, so I bought 15 min in a studio with Stacey and got the best headshot that has come in so very handy many times. I moderated a panel last week and a panelist I was being introduced to said, "yes, the woman with the most amazing head shot." Working with 3 kids isn't always easy, but she laughed with them, engaged them and listened to what they wanted in addition to getting the photos she had in mind. We booked a mini-session for updated family photos last weekend. It was me, the hubby, the mancub, and their Royal Fuzzy Majesties- so 20 minutes in the park was perfect! We had about 50 prints to review, and just trust this and the other reviews- pre-buy the whole digital download session (if you're after the digital negatives)! I know $850 seems steep at first, but I wish I had listened to the other reviewers and pre-purchased, because I loved nearly all the images and couldn't choose just one or two. read more

We are likely leaving the area in early 2014 so I wanted to have some professional photos done of myself with my husband and our greyhound to commemorate our time here. After doing some online research and talking with a few photographers I decided to work with Stacey. We met in Old Town Alexandria one Saturday afternoon in October. I was nervous at first but shortly into our photo session I felt at ease as Stacey is friendly, professional and fun, not to mention amazing at what she does! She was also great with our greyhound and got some adorable shots of him. Stacey has a wonderful eye for light and color and found a lot of unique backgrounds for our photos. Our online gallery was available after about a week and a half and the results were fantastic! Soon after, Stacey scheduled a free consultation with us to view all our photos on the large computer screen that she has and to help us pick out which prints and framing options we wanted to put up in our home. She even helped us decide how best to place the photos on the wall. We received all our prints last week and have gotten our framed prints up on the wall, we couldn't be happier! I stumbled upon Stacey Vaeth Photography while looking for a family photographer in the DC area. With a 4-year old and 18-month old I was immediately drawn to her mini-sessions! 20-minutes sounded like all we would be able to get through. From the second we started it was like magic. Stacey was so great with both the kids that I ended up with WAY more images than I thought I'd get. When they started to get restless she said just to let them walk around and from that she was able to capture some great moments. We do not have photos taken often, so I do consider this an investment. We came out with over 50 excellent images that we decided to purchase the package of digital images. At the time we scheduled our session you could purchase that package in advance for a discount - and I'm kicking myself for not doing that! The first time I met her, I showed up with a sick toddler and two excited dogs, yet she managed to take the most perfect picture of the the three of them plus a fantastic family photo. We used Stacey for our wedding back in 2011 in DC and were blown away by our beautiful photographs and how easy she was to work with. We recently used her to take pictures of our 6 month old twins, and let me tell you, that is not easy. Hiring Stacey was the absolute, #1 best decision that I made for my wedding and engagement pictures. We hired Stacey to take pictures of our 3 month old daughter in addition to taking some shots of our family as a whole. She honestly did an amazing job.
