The restaurant almost reminds me of a factory, with so many dishes coming in and out and people being seated. The service is good though, and I have no complaints on that front. Usually go to Millbrae Pancake House, but decided to go to Stacks yesterday. HUGE MISTAKE. Decent crowd, but no wait for a table and we were seated immediately at 10:40 AM. Son ordered hot chocolate which was brought immediately. Ordered a few minutes later. I understand they are likely understaffed in the kitchen, but it shouldn't take more than 23 minutes to get pancakes, potatoes and sausage. Oh, they were out of Aidell's Chicken Apple sausages. How? They're widely available. Costco has them right now, but that's a very minor complaint. You should tell us if you are understaffed and items will take longer than usual, but again, relatively minor. Got banana, macadamia, coconut pancakes, potatoes and sausage. Pancakes are excellent, but the potatoes SUCK. They're awful. I ADORE breakfast potatoes. Not these. They're floppy and not crispy at all and a TINY amount and for that you pay $7.59. Ridiculous. The sausages, were nearly $8 for 3 small sausages. Absurd. Both my son and I got the exact same thing, except for his hot chocolate, for which he was NEVER offered a refill and we were there well over an hour. The total price with tax and tip. Sit down. Seriously, sit down because you might fall over. $88.00. EIGHTY EIGHT dollars for two people for pancakes, crappy potatoes, mediocre sausage and ONE cup of hot chocolate plus tax and tip. First time trying this place with friends for a brunch. The food quality is fine and this place is crowded. We got here around 11am and wasn't able to sit in until 11:30am. Another family of 5, white Caucasian, who came after us got the table right away. I am not sure if they made reservation, but apparently their name appeared on the list after our name (with proof). I just felt unpleasant about that, but our group of 5 still waited patiently. The server could do a better job, but she might be too busy. Other servers are not likely helping each others. They told me that they will only seat us when our party is complete and that they will only hold the table for us for up to minutes. The breakfast it's good just like any other breakfast it comes with a they go, but you can switch it for some other type of bread, but the waffle is really good. It is light not dense and thick like other places. I can eat one too my self. Most place I can not even finish one. I usually would get the breakfast sausage combo first and ask for the waffle later that way the waffle comes out fresh. They serve they are waffles with hot syrup. You can also ask for maple. Came here on a weekday at 11AM, and this place was popping! (but no wait!) They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Since a lot of the smaller tables were already taken, my boyfriend and I were seated at a table for 6. No complaints there. He got the Hot Link Omelette while I got the South of the Border (I subbed the chorizo for extra veg). I've got to say that for the price you pay, you're getting a good amount of food. My South of the Border was delicious - stuffed with eggs, vegetables, wrapped in tortilla and topped with a plentiful amount of salsa, sour cream, a little bit of guac, some cheese - it was good! We went to the Burlingame location and this place had the best service thankfully no wait time. The food options were so good. I normally wouldn't get crab in my omelette but this was perfect! Mediocre breakfast and mediocre service. It's your typical breakfast place which did not wow us in anyway from the moment we got here. The only thing I can say that was good was that there was free coffee outside while you wait. It took a while to get seated, which is fine since it was a weekend. However, once we were seated, it took forever for anybody to take our order. Once we received it, before we could ask for other condiments such as cream cheese for our bagels, the server left. We tried to flag down our server and other servers for cream cheese, and by the end of it, they ended up giving more cream cheese than we needed (considering that they dropped it on the table and left and didn't give us time to interject that we already received it). The best part of it was that they charge us for all of three cream cheeses we received, when in reality, we only needed one. Now it's really not a big deal in price (50 cents each), but it's the principle. I understand it's busy on a weekend, but take the extra 10 seconds to see how your customers are doing. Food was nothing to marvel about, which would be okay if service made up for it. Overall, save your time and money. It sucks being a paying customer when your needs aren't met and your experience dining is subpar. read more

What shall I say! Be aware! Server here try to build bigger tickets. Our server Anna seemed very nice until I told her that I didn't know cream cheese was extra charge and I didn't even touch it, so it would be good to know. She responded that when she asked if we want to add cream cheese, that means additional charge. She also asked if we want any pancakes or waffles after she took our order. We answered a side of French toast. Then she responded an order of French toast. Guess what, we got a full order of French toast. Bottom line, she should have at least informed us that they don't have side of French toast. Very unpleasant experience. She was not nice at all after I told her it would be good know about the extra charge. For sure she built at least $15 more on the check from us. But it isn't good of doing for the business. I really didn't want to tip her well but I still kindly standardized it 20% minus the charge for the side of cream cheese. After we left, I still felt awful about the experience. She should have at least apologized it even if she didn't remove the charge REALLY.... An hour later, I had diarrhea. The restaurant has very smelly carpet and busier trying to vacuum while people trying to eat. Food itself is not impressed, plus the awful experience, we will not come back for sure. read more

The waiter didn't really check in periodically and had to often wave him down. I ordered a sweet tea and of course it came back as unsweetened, which I don't have a problem with. Just let me know that it will be unsweetened so I can order something else. Tea is definitely hard to sweetened once it's cold. I order the king-crab panini. It was good, but I was expecting a lot more flavor with this being King crab. It was rather bland and I had to end up adding some salt and pepper to the panini.
