It is easy for them to just push the child in the corner, teachers complains a lot and sends out email if the class is noisy or "unruly", that's classroom management! They want us to talk to our kids when we are not even there to witness what happened! Show us the video on how teachers managed their classroom then I'll talk to my kids. The bus/transportation seems to be a huge problem too. If the kids get left behind even if they will circle around they won't stop for those kids. These people have no "mercy", not to mention that some kids have to wake up 4:45am because they'll be pick up at 5:15am when the school started! I have to complain that it is too early and I have to complain again and again and again before they got tired of me and changed it! Run away from Stafford if you could - school system not the greatest!

They offer Montessori and Spanish classes along with addition soccer/gym fun classes. They also have longer hours available each day which is really helpful to commuting parents. We have seen more structured curriculum at a school we used in Manassas but they didn't implement Montessori principles. Overall, I am very pleased with our time at The Merit School of Parkridge and we will dearly miss all the staff as my daughter heads into Kindergarten!

She was talking on the phone, so I presume the door overwhelmed her because she displayed absolutely nothing but chaos. She asked me the age of my child, I told her. She gave me a note pad to fill out contact information. She told me that the school sends a bus there, they don't transport to that particular school... which is fine. After that she excused herself and went to the restroom. When she returned she told me they only have 46 slots with 52 kids already... I guess they don't go by ratio. I looked at her and smiled, that's what I do when I'm annoyed but want to be kind. I asked why I didn't receive a call because I took off work for the tour. Again in an overwhelmed state she says "I am the only one here today, the online scheduler just sends things in, I've been very busy today." As though her busy was superior to my time and responsibilities. After all, that's the job. I calmly told her, still smiling, I also work and am very busy, in addition to having a disabled child getting ready for brain surgery and touring schools... but I still can manage to RSVP regret. She ask, "if you'd like I can give you a tour and when"... I told her no, no thanks. As I was walking out I summed it up to a blessing for seeing what it would have been like there. The first impression did not display positive control. They must be one of the more affordable daycares around because I was not interested after that.

It was a half day class that went by quickly as Stephen is a great instructor that kept the course interesting and kept the class engaged through real life stories. You never know when an emergency may occur and the invaluable training I received may save a life one day (although I hope I never have to use it). I cannot recommend this class enough!

I am beyond pleased with the staff and parents I've encountered. I've always struggled between public and private education for my children, but as long as they're in SES. I'm comfortable with the level of care and education they're receiving.

So we just moved to Stafford & both my children were coming from Hollin Meadows Elementary but my…read moredaughter is in 2nd grade & my son is in 6th grade! That means he's going to middle school and she stays in elementary... So I actually visited back in January, I was greeted & treated with respect (which was really nice) everyone was kind, happy and actually had us excited for my daughter to start! So last week I dropped off all the paperwork to enroll my daughter except for a lease or deed & 2 bills in my name @ my address & I was actually in & out pretty quickly! (It definitely didn't take as long as it did to enroll my son!) Only thing that bothered me really, was when we were coming out of the bathroom there was a teacher in the hallway with a male student, about 5th grade or so I believe, with a teacher & there was obviously a problem that happened in the class which the teacher had removed the students because of! What bothered me was while the teacher was talking or going over the disciplinary action that was going to be taken she had her hands on the student sort of grabbing his upper arms & the kid was yelling @ the teacher! When we got back into the office there were 2 other students who I assumed were part of or the cause of the disruption because one boy had tears steadily running down his face & the other boy was yelling at the office lady trying to tell her what happened! It was at this point I thought to myself that it must have been really bad & after whatever happened the teacher did the right thing by separating the kids & they obviously don't know how to act because my children would NEVER yell at a staff member at their school none the less disrespect an adult or a class mate! So I immediately felt differently after seeing the bigger picture! Once that was over we were given the rest of information on what to expect with the enrollment & then we were good to go! I went back the next day to drop off the deed & even though it was the end of the day on a Friday we were helped pretty quickly to get the copies made & was given a 30 day extension on getting the 2 bills in my name @ my new address! All in all my daughter hasn't even started the school yet & I already love it! I just hope there are no bullies here but honestly I've heard nothing but good things about this school so I really hope that we didn't get our hopes up for nothing! Once she's been there for a month or so I can update my review!
