There are a couple of things which set Redecorate apart. The first is that they specialise in recycled curtains. By this, I do not mean something you could pick up at Vinnies, these are really high quality and heavy weight. As anyone who has redone the furnishings in their house in earnest knows, curtains are bloody expensive! What a great idea to up-cycle them like this. They have a bunch of furniture in the store and plenty more in storage, most of it in Victorian and Georgian styles. They also offer a home styling service, that's right, they'll come to your house and do it for you and chances are they've already got all the gear on hand to do it!

If you like high end, artistically designed furniture then Koush may have just the piece you're looking for because they also design and sell unique pieces of furniture. What I love about these pieces of furniture is that they've all been given funky names. There are Koushy Cushions, the Plateau Chair, and the Trapeze bookshelf to name but a few. Koush. Not for the Ikea flat pack brigade. Koush is the opposite end of the scale. Not just furniture designers, they are more like magicians when it comes to transforming interior spaces.

The inside of the store is a bit too crammed for my liking because you really have to focus to browse through all their items. They do, however, have a very nice selection of decent, modern and cute objects. A lot comes in colours like beige, white and black and is therefore fit to be placed in pretty much any home. Prices are moderate to high but staff are lovely and willing to help you out with anything you need.

They did offer suggestions on what they thought may fit the room, but again there was no sales push. They offer nice friendly service with a lot of options. The staff there were really helpful and didn't assume that we were morons like another tile retailer we had visited earlier. They also have displays so you can see what a full porch or bathroom would look like in the tiles of your choice and the staff are happy to spend time to come up with a custom design for you. Because of their range and service I think we'll definitely be back when we know exactly what we want.

They sell and supply carpet, carpet tiles, lino and floating floor boards and recently started stocking porcelain tiles plus prices are reasonable. Also available is no interest finance but as always and no matter what or where you're buying, check the terms and conditions. There is a large selection of samples on display so you can get a feel for texture and in some instances, can take samples home to check with the existing colour scheme in your home....if you ask nicely. Personalised, friendly and valuable customer service and information has been a trademark and will hopefully continue in the future, serving the local community and beyond.
