We were connected with Centerville Construction by one of our neighbors, who had the back yard of…read moretheir home fenced off for their dogs. They spoke very highly of Tom (Durant, the owner) and his team. When we contacted Tom to provide a quote in early 2025, he was at our home within a few days so we could "walk" the job and get an understanding of what was needed to complete the project. Tom proved to be very thorough and broke down every aspect of the work and materials and equipment required. Whether you are technical in nature - or not at all - Tom is able to explain it in a manner anyone can understand. Over the next week or so, we communicated back and forth to hammer out some of the details, make some changes to the project and finalize the deal so they could begin breaking ground. At no time during our preliminary discussions did Tom try to upsell or oversell anything - he wanted to know exactly what we wanted for our fence and gate, and that is what he built. He was always very forthcoming and straightforward with us during the project, as well as being professional, patient and gracious. One of the strengths of Centerville Construction is the knowledge of the land and topography around this area, as there is a lot of rock right at the surface, and/or up to 4 or 5 feet under the surface. This requires some specialized equipment and construction methods, especially when coupled with the high winds and extreme temperatures in the summer and winter, to ensure a well-built, long-lasting fence. We are very pleased with our fence and the overall body of work Tom and his team provided. We have seen some of their other work around the area, from simple ranch fences to decorative and elaborate gate entries, and it is clear that Centerville Construction can tackle any kind of fence job to meet your needs.

He didn't know the proper procedure for moss removal. He didn't even use the right product for it!! He kept trying to find anything that he could possibly come up with, to get more work. Like covering up the Mt. Hood View with a flat patio cover. They did not provide us with any drawings that represented or matched any of our discussions. Their 3D drawings were nothing more than the Monopoly buildings with no details. Their creativity was extremely limited and it was a struggle to try to get them to listen to our needs. In the end we could not use any drawings they provided to us. They pushed us to pay for schematics before we even received a drawing we could use. When we pushed them back on this, it became clear that they wanted to farm this out to another contractor and had not intention of building it ever. We would not recommend them to others.

They promptly responded and we out within 24 hours to asses the situation. We have an expensive log-style home outside of White Salmon, that we could not risk with just anyone. They did a fantastic job, not only repairing the leak but assessing the entire house for any other construction mishaps that need to be mended. I would highly recommend them for anyone in the area! We didn't realize the foundation to our deck did not meet code when it was constructed 30 years…read moreago. The support beams and joist were not treated and had rotted from underneath when we called Norman Pratt to replace deck boards. Norman and Nathan replaced the complete deck. Couldn't be happier with the AZEK composite deck they built. They also put in a concrete patio where the deck was in contact with the ground. The quality of work is excellent and they went way above what we expected in terms of paying attention to every detail, being very professional and keeping the site clean. They came back after they were actually finished and scrubbed the deck down by hand, and removed every trace of their construction actives. Norman also corrected a problem with door moulding (unrelated to the deck) at no extra charge. If I could give them a 10 star rating I would. You don't find contractors like this anymore.
