Luis took care of us and helped locate specific items. He offered to order us some syrups we couldn't find anywhere else. Locally run business that's centered around customer service and it shows! How did I not know about this place until now? Maybe because I missed that bit under the signage saying "Public Welcome" until someone off Instagram recommended this place. This place is a haven for all things cooking, hosting, baking, grilling, cutting (food-grade), chilling, etc. The parking lot is right off of Russell and is plentiful. There are shopping carts outside right next to the entrance and the checkout counters are right at the front. And let me tell you, this warehouse is massive! I needed some supplies for my sourdough hobby, and while I wasn't able to find all the items I needed, I did enjoy looking at their options of bread knives from all price points. This is probably the most extensive kitchenware store I've been to in Las Vegas. While I do like to price shop online, sometimes I like to buy things in person and support a local business. Standard Restaurant Supply is one of those places. However, because the warehouse is massive and there seemed to be no more than 3-4 staff on the floor, if you need assistance you should expect to have to go all the way to the front where the checkout counters are to get help. After spending many years in the food safety and quality assurance field, I've been in thousands of food service establishments both BOH (back of the house and FOH (front of the house) and I enjoy visiting restaurant supply houses just to see what's new, what's classic or just to pick up something for my home kitchen. This was my first trip to Standard, pretty much on the other side of the valley from my usual haunts, didn't take a long time to get there but both my Waze and my in car navigation defecated the bed about a mile away in the maze (to me) of Harmon and Valley View. The place is actually located on the corner of Russell and Valley View with the entrance on Russell. Went mid day, not a huge number of cars in the lot, but by the time I left two freakin fun filled hours later, there were quite a few more cars there. So first impression.....OMG, food service heaven ! Didn't know where to start. In a few words, they pretty much had every item a commercial kitchen or dining room could need. Quality wise, the items I chose (and yes I filled my shopping cart) was great. Mr. or MS. gadget overload. Plates, glasses, chef ware, knives enough for a madcap uprising...pans and storage containers galore. Commercial cleaning supplies too. In the dishware section, not much in the Asian arena. I didn't look at electric stuff or the furniture but there was tons. Customer service was on point.... My cashier was Rebecca and she was quick and personable. The only negative (a minor one to be sure) is they don't offer a military discount but that was not unexpected. I'll be back the next time I need to restock glassware and plates (after a Greek celebration, Just kidding) a great place to spend a few hours. read more

Cool place to check out even as a non-restaurant owner. Got 4 large soup bowls and a knife sharpener. Might come back for a chef's knife. Staff members were really nice. Clean bathrooms. You know what? Kyra is so unbelievably knowledgeable. She took a look at the boxes I had in my cart as she walked by and quickly deduced that I might have mispicked one of them items. She stopped me and took the time to work it out, and sent someone for the correct item. She could have let me keep walking, but it mattered to her that I had what I needed. She took care of me. Kyra is gold! The other two blonde woman at the register went out of their way to agree and with me and talked her up as well. It was awesome to see them all speak so highly of each other.
