We waited two weeks for them to arrive, second pair of glasses was completely unaligned so now I have to wait another two weeks for them To come back corrected. I came in without an appointment on a Saturday because I felt like I may have damaged my cornea with some clear eye contact solution. I came when they opened. She got me signed in quickly and assured me that even if Saturday is their busiest day, she will try to get me in as soon as possible even without an appointment. And it was quick! The guy who did the actual eye exam was very kind and informative. The only weird thing is that they don't have a doctor there. It's done virtually over video. You will be in a room alone in the dark so if you have anxiety, maybe let them know and I'm sure they'll help. The lady that helped get me my glasses was very patient and gave me all of the best deals that I could afford. She gave me over 70% off my frames. My husband and I went for our eye exams. Our eye exam was done VIRTUAL and my husband was told they couldn't get his vision to 20/20 so the told him to go to another office. I don't believe the person on the TV screen was even a doctor. They wouldn't give me my prescription until I spoke to someone for their hard sale. Went as a walk in and the lady told me it would be an hour to an hour and a half wait and we had to physically wait in the lobby and not come back. We left and made an appointment online for an hour later and went back to check in just for her to say it's still the same wait time and we had to physically stay here again. Wait times are excessive. I have gone 3 times in 1.5 months and the system is always slow or down for testing. They use virtual testing services but it is not reliable. 2 hrs for a whole turnaround service is not acceptable. By the time they tell you the service is down, you want to wait because you've already been in the office for quite some time. The third time I went in is because the RX was wrong. Despite that, you shouldn't have to wait as long for a correction. read more

It's like a chop shop. They have a bait and switch advertisement for 2 pairs with eye glass exam for $69 or $59, but it's only relevant for 6 of the 100s of frames they have. And each of the sales are intricately put together, so it'll cost well over what you anticipated. You call in and routed to customer service whose script is to get you an appointment that's pretty much it, but if you already have one then they can't offer much else. They have very long waits, plan on a 1/2 day activity, if it involves an optometrist. So why 2 stars, the optometrist is very friendly and they have a lot of staff that are running around trying to help out. read more

I had my appointment at 11:00 am and there was no waiting, the guy took me in right away. He was super nice and friendly. I don't like the out of town doctors they use on the screen, it's hard to understand them. So you pick the glasses you want and nobody ever told me about the sales they had. I had to go online and look for myself and also look at the small posters along the wall. After I picked my glasses, I waited for about 20-25 minutes for a sales associate. She was nice but didn't talk much, asked for my payment method, and then that was that. Good thing I picked the cheapest ones 2 for 79 including the eye exam. I originally scheduled an appointment with this particular Stanton Optical store at 8889 Gateway Blvd. W in El Paso because it was close to my home and they advertised a pretty good deal of Buy 1 and Get a 2nd Pair for half off or free. Well, we all know nothing is ever free. Right? Anyway, I purchased my glasses the first week of March. Got the 2 pair for about $175.00. One pair wire frames, the other with brown plastic frames. On the 3rd week the left hinge of the brown plastic pair literally disintegrated in my fingertips. I took them back. The Store Rep. kindly switched my lenses into another set of frames- no charge, no problem. Today, April 15th, which is another 3 weeks later and the same thing happened with the 2nd pair on the left hinge. I'm not in the best of mood at this point. Nevertheless, a young lady by the name, Sonya at the front desk today was not so pleasant. I expressed to her my disappointment. The look away glance minus eye contact and smirk on her face showed me she didn't care and wasn't in the mood to hear much more from me. So, she just walked away to the racks of sample frames and eventually came back saying, "Sir, as I said, you could either get the same identical frame and just pay $5.80, or pay 20% of the cost of the lenses on new pair of frames you choose." Because of her attitude, I just asked to get a refund on the broken pair. After another disgruntled look, she went to a managed in the rear and came back with another offer. "Sir, after speaking with my manager you can choose a different pair of frames for a replacement of up to $89. if you like," she says. I stood on my first resolve and asked again for the refund which came out to be a about $66.00. The agony of having to drive back to this store for a 3rd time during the challenges with the growing pandemic is nerve racking enough. And to be treated as if I was annoying her was even more difficult to swallow. If this is the way Stanton Optical's Reps. chose to treat me, I'll do what what's best for me which is pay a higher price for better Customer Service with a professional optometrist and supplier. If my presence was too disturbing to the store representative that told me her name was Sonya at 1:55pm on April 14th. I understand. I'd rather go to America's Best or Pearl Optical. Hopefully, the word "Best" is applied to Customer Service as well. I make it a personal policy to take the time to write good and/or bad reviews when I think it is to the extreme. I can't see with my glasses and have to be scheduled to see an "in house" Dr. enough of all these virtual appointments. Chaotic is the best way to describe this place. I can't speak to the other locations but this particular one was just a mess. I will never go back there but I was desperate and needed an exam asap. All the employees didn't look a day over 18. They were all playing on their phones, gossiping, walking around, and trying on the glasses in the store asking each other how they looked. The doctors are all virtual which I didn't mind, but it took an hour to get the prescription signed and printed because of "connection issues." The whole experience just seemed very bootleg and unprofessional. They also didn't clean the equipment after each use. You won't walk out spending under a few hundred dollars. I've been there multiple times with my kids trying to get there "but one get one free deal". That will never happen. The selection they have for them is so small. I was told the glasses would be ready for pick up that day. Nope. About 4 days later one pair was ready. About two weeks later the other pair was ready. The dr in on camera. Not in the room with you. Which I find odd when working with children. Ordered a 9 month supply of my contact prescription earlier this year. Yesterday I had an issue with the contact in my right eye. It was a brand new pair. It would not settle on the eye and felt dried out all day so I threw them out when I got home. When I went to get another pair this morning, I looked at the box and they had expired in 2017 and the box for the left eye had expired back in March. Beware of this place. You have to be at your appointment earlier than your scheduled time. For example some doctors tell you that you have a 10:45am appt and you show up at 10:45 and then fill out paperwork and your done. Not here. I had an appointment at 10:45 got there at 10:45 as I was registering some guy in a sweater walked up and told the girl who was helping me that it was 10:47 now and they could not see me. The girl who was registering me told me I'm sorry my manager said we can't see you today. She said even customers who have been 2-3 minutes late cannot be seen. I said my appt was at 10:45 I was here at 10:45 and now that we were doing paperwork or went over 10:45? I said that if you have this policy then you should state it to customers that to be here 10,20 or 30 minutes prior because their optometrist is control freak that has to have you in his exam room at the scheduled time not a minute later. Seriously I was told that even a minute late they won't see you. So if you decide to go, be super early and don't let the doctor see you 1 minute after your scheduled appt. Would not recommend this place. Also their contact lens bundling when insurance covers them is also a scam as they want to make more money. And I was also told if I wanted to get new lenses in my existing Ray-bans that they would be $69 for the pair, then the girl came back and said oh by the way since your bringing in your own frames it will be $20 additional and then the $69 and that's if our technicians inspect and approve your glasses if not you have to buy ours. I said they are ray-bans common known brand less than a year old with minimal use.....I just got up and walked out. Horrible service and they all seem very sneaky there. Bad vibe. Just got this auto generated generic message from Stanton Optical. Sure wish they could have been sorry and strived for the best yesterday! Both pairs of glasses I got that supposedly had the anti scratch coating both had scratches within a week. I've never had my lenses scratch this easily, very poor quality or they didn't actually give me lenses with anti scratch coating. read more

I honestly don't know why I keep going back to this place because the glasses are always messed up, or they don't last very long because they're cheap.. this time around I spent $600 on glasses and I can't even wear them because I can't see. I made an appointment last week, and when I called to confirm, they couldn't even find me in the system so I had to reschedule for this week at 11:30 they were in the computer and change my appointment to 11:45 which is fine, then they called me and told me that they were having computer problems to call them back to reschedule for later in the day, yet I can never get a hold of them and get sent to the main call center and trying to explain to them is very hard because they don't really speak English very well. So meanwhile, I don't know if I should cancel my appointment or go and I can't reschedule for later in the day because I have other things I need to do if that's why I scheduled it early. Made an appointment @ 11:30am on a Saturday . Didn't make a difference . Still waited an hour to receive an eye exam. Sales associate was very pushy when I told them I wanted to stay in the range of the promo (buy 1 get 1 free + free eye exam for $79 ) by trying to upscale me and add all the extras to the glasses. Then I was told pick up would be same day @ 6:30pm ... so 5 hours later. I drove 25 minutes back to the store at 6:30pm to pick up glasses and was told glasses wouldn't be ready until Wednesday that week and that my other pair wouldn't be ready for 2 weeks!!! I said why didn't you guys call me to let me know this I just drove all the way down here. I would have taken my prescription somewhere else. They stated that it was my fault I should have waited for a text to let me know it was ready. This place has insanely great prices! Best place to get glasses by far in El Paso. I unfortunately wasn't able to take advantage of their free eye exam promotion when I went (which I think is all-year-round). But it is a great price in that it is free with purchase of glasses. I did not have any insurance so I'm not sure how that is for people with insurance but it is the cheapest for people without insurance. My one qualm with the place is that after ordering your glasses, when you come in to try them on they give a bit of an attitude when you're very specific with the shape and feel of the glasses. If it is too tight on my face I will request it to be molded to a different form again. The people that occupy the storefront are quite disgusting and their children run rampant everywhere. I dislike having to position myself away from the large smelly people and their clamorous children. This is more a symptom of the population of the city than a problem with this establishment. I just hope they clean the glasses well after so many kids touch them with their bacteria adorned hooves they call meat cleavers, I mean.... hands. I decided to go back in and see if my second experience would be better. I walked in and was greeted instantly, the manager was absolutely amazing to me!! She was generous, patient and flexible.
