I've been meaning to write this review for a year. Upon a recommendation from a friend, I went to purchase new glasses at Stanton Optical because of the cost. My check up was done via a television. Yes, the optician was conducting my exam via a television feed. I couldn't understand most of what he said and was very uncomfortable. I got through it. I selected two pairs of glasses. I came back in a week and only one pair of glasses were what I had chosen. I had to find my original selection. Wasted time because now I had to drive from Vero back to the store. I tried on the glasses when they were done and they just didn't feel right. I was told to go home and I would get used to them. I didn't get used to them. I couldn't read anything unless I maneuvered the glasses to an uncomfortable position. In the mean time, a Stanton Optical was opened in Vero. I went there to see if they could adjust the glasses so I could read. They were very rude to me, implying I was making up the issue and their glass were perfect. Fast forward, a year later, and I am scheduled for cataract surgery. Before the operation, the doctor checked my vision and my eyeglass prescription. Apparently, the reading part of the lens were too strong and the mid level was too weak. They had mixed my prescription up. I was particularly upset because, even though they had my prescription, they did not check it against the glasses they had made. Instead of accepting responsibility for a crappy job, they chose to say the customer doesn't know what she is seeing... Don't go there for a quality job. read more

The staff was extremely rude no greeting upon walking in when I called the customer service agent said they accepted my insurance but when I talk to them at the front desk, they said often the agents tell that to everybody so that they can get them in the door and we don't accept your insurance. I was told a certain price and an hour later of arguing about the price I was quoted. It ended up being OK and I got in for the price quoted, but the experience was horrible. I was told I could come back and pick up my contacts within two months of getting my eye exam that I had to pay full price for because they did not accept my insurance, but he said that money would go towards the purchase of my contacts when I came back in. I was told that deal expired even though the consultant had promised me I could come within two months and get the same deal when the woman went away to check on it and came back, I asked her what the final cost was. She said it was still the same $73 But she had to use her manager discount to give it to me and I told her that was a little concerning because what if she wasn't the manager and whoever it was decided not to give me the discount after I was already quoted $73 would be the price as long as I came back within two months and it hadn't even been a month. The eye exam itself was horrible. There is a man on the screen and a different country. There is no personal interaction. It was horrible on top of horrible on top of horrible and I will never go back again and I would suggest you find another place as well read more

Anyone need prescription glasses? If you're in Florida you may be near a Stanton Optical store. I was initially skeptical since they market themselves as the cheapest place to get a pair of glasses. I took a chance about three years ago and I have to say, I've never been disappointed. Yes, they're a bargain, but its the quality of people and service that keep me going back. As of today I'm on my 6th pair and never disappointed. Raven, the sales manager, is awesome. I had a pair of glasses made and decided after to have an upgrade. She didn't miss a beat, and although the photochromic lens is about a $140 charge, she comped it. All after I had work the glasses for three months. Went back for replacement for my expensive Hobie single vision polarized sunglasses I lost recently in Hawaii. She took 60% off on those, and they have a payment plan. I love great value, which to me is the intersection of quality, price, and service. Raven checks all the boxes. If you're in the market and they're nearby it's great to just stop in and see what they have. Frequently run BOGO sales, and the prices are inline with what the specialty stores with crappy service charge. Happy camper, to say the least! They won't stay where they are supposed to and since I only need for reading the bottom was supposed to be for reading and rest as if I didn't have glasses on, so that when I am on the couch reading I can look up and see the TV or what's going on in the room but everything is blurry when I look up. Went to the Stuart/Jensen Beach store in July for an eye exam ordered two pair of glasses. One pair was regular the other sunglasses just plain no changing or bifocals. Had then for over a month and there was just something not right about them, went back for another eye exam this time virtual, nice touch that is. Was told to make another appointment to have an in person exam went back on Tuesday this week. The optometrist Beth made sure that she got it right what a difference it made. if I could've gave 0 stars I would have. my partner and I have been going here for years and this past year they've treated their customers like garbage. my partner spends hundreds on his contacts, 3 pairs of his contacts came out of the packaging broken. he works 40+ hours a week and doesn't have the time to just stop what he's doing and go show his broken pair to get new ones. the last time he went in to get a trial pair of contacts because the ones he'd had on were the broken ones the lady was incredibly rude and demeaning, basically saying she didn't care that he had broken contacts he WOULD NOT receive any other trial pairs regardless if he brought in the broken ones or not. not only that, the woman was humbled when my partner did get a trial because the manager knew she was in the wrong she took it upon herself to write several notes in my partners profile to deny him any kind of trials. a hardworking man spends 600$ on his 6 month prescription and to be treated like that all over the fact he didn't come in every single time he had a broken pair when she can see he got that 3 months ago theres no reason he should be out of contacts. Then to feed him some bullshit about being "the most forgiving company" when he tries to go in and BUY a pair of contacts and they try and sell him just one for almost 100$. Poorly managed, rude workers. losing loyal customers that have spent thousands on glasses and contacts is a damn shame. Save yourself the hassle and go to America's Best. They were able to right Stanton Opticals wrong for WAY cheaper and for much less of a hassle. I don't usually use chain stores for my optical needs but I will now. Stanton Optical repaired my disabled brother's broken frame at no charge. They no longer carry the frames in stock but managed to find a suitable part to fix them. I took them to my local optician who said they couldn't be repaired or the lens put into new frames. They should advertise their eye exams that way so you know before you go. Worst customer service ever. Promised glasses next day until I paid then told 2 days later. 2 days later no call. I called after long hold was told would get a call back. No call back, so called the next day 10 minute hold only to be told I had another customer no apology for the long hold. Then hold again to be told they were working on them I would get a call before 4 to say they were ready. No call again, when I called back was told they were ready. Went in the next day and was handed my glasses in a case no try on, no adjustments. Stay away not worth your aggravation. So their customer service got back with me and finally apologized on Yelp. Stanton Optical in Jensen Beach had a good group of Opticians and after to help you with finding the right glasses to fit your face. They were kind and walked you through the process with ease. I did have a small little problem but they rectified it right away. I got a regular prescription glasses and sunglasses they were progressive lenses with Coatings of clear since I have need to have that anti-reflective for my eyes. The sunglasses or great Style and my vision couldn't be better when wearing my new glasses. Recommend highly if you are looking for any kind of glasses. JulieB read more

I basically had to pick my glasses out my self and when they added up the cost it was like 4 times what I could afford. after having to basically beg for more economical options they finally showed me the "cheap" section... Recently opened in Stuart and seem to be doing well. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and informative. Great deals going on right now (look at pictures and website). Affordable prices! Located on US 1, South of Britt Road, in the same plaza as Panera Bread. Eye exams are available and tons of glasses to choose from! Although, if you are picky like me, I don't find much of a selection in my taste of glasses here but overall, the location, staff, and prices are really great especially when you mention about the deals they are having so they know are aware of it and you want more information on how to qualify. Anyway, give them a try. Currently there is only one eye doctor at the moment and not a guarantee, but if the traffic increases in their store, in a couple of weeks to a month, there will be a second eye doctor. For women, they carry Fendi and Coach glasses. Also, I believe they take insurance but call to make sure what types of insurance are accepted. read more

I have to say that I spent $258 for a eye exam that was supposed to be free and a pair of reading glasses and have them come apart multiple time over the course of a little over a year is terrible! I finally again called and spoke to several store including the original one just to be told that they would sell me a new pair. I have a pair of foster grant readers from Walmart that are older and still in perfect condition. Buyer beware. 0/5 STARS IS MORE LIKE IT!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS OR ANY STANTON OPTICAL. Their service in the store and customer service are TERRIBLE!!! I visited this store with my mother to get her some reading glasses as she was due for new ones. While waiting to see the doctor in the back we browsed and choose two pairs. After we were done with the doctor the only person helping customers , Israel, was busy with another customer. We waited around the area he was sitting at with the customer expecting to be assisted once he finished with the gentleman he wa as with. When he finished, he walked away to the other side of the store, sat in a chair across Adam, the brand managers desk, put his feet up and pulled out his phone. I was flabbergasted, when I realized he was not going to OFFER us any assistance, so I crossed over to the other side of the store where they both were, which is when Adam looked at me and asked, "are you done selecting glasses?" I told him we had along time ago, which is when he told Israel to help us. Israel then stood up, walked to his work station, typed a few things into a computer and gave me a $270+ price. I asked why that much as they had a buy one get one offer and he proceeds to tell me that my moms prescription calls for very thick glasses and he was giving me a package that included a lens that would not make her glasses too thick. FYI: my mothers glasses are reading glasses, they are not THICK. I wear glasses and have a very very bad prescription, myne are "THICK" and I need a special lens so that they are not "Coke Bottle Glassess", not my mom. Israel clearly does not know what he is doing or is in the bussiness of UPSELLING and lying to customers. He did not check that the glasses we selected were a good fit for my mom, put a machine in her face and did not even tell her what to do, only when my mother asked me what she needed to do did he tell me what to tell her. He then charged me, gave me a receipt and walked away from us, I had to ask when they would be ready, he then responded 1-2 hours. I called the store from my car and requested to speak to the store manager and watched as the girl who answered told the manager Adam that there was a phone call. She came back on the line and told me he had stepped out of the store! I WAS IN THE CAR SITTING WATCHING HIM AT HIS DESK!!!  He has never answered back any of my phone calls, not that day nor any other day. I called customer service to request a full refund where they claim they will process escalations and no one calls me back. When I call them they tell me ADAM denies my request for refund but no one calls me to talk to me about the "RESOLUTION" of the claim. They claim to have sent Adam countless messages for him to contact me, he does not.  I requested the Regional managers information, all I got was her name, Autumn I***** . They claim they have messaged her to contact me as they can not give me her email or phone number.  I messaged her through linked IN and am waiting to see if she responds.  AGAIN DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID. My wife went for an exam and glasses. The total was going to be $435 for one pair of regular and one pair of sun glasses. She called me and we decided she should check with Costco. He offered a $100 discount if we would buy from Stanton. I check the bank charges and he knocked the $100 off but then charged the $45 for the eye exam. This is sleezie business practice. The ad states the eye exam is free as long as you buy your glass from them. She bought two pairs but in the end the discount was only $55, not the $100 he promised. WE WILL NOT BE BACK read more

I originally came in on the 3rd of January and received my exam. I picked out my glasses and paid. The next day, I took my husband for his appointment and during the conversation, the employee mentioned that I could swap out my eye glasses for the ones I originally wanted because they were now available and my insurance covered the costs. My glasses had not been in production yet but was next in line. They promised both my husband's and my glasses would be ready that afternoon after 5pm. I showed up to pick up our glasses and was given just my husband's after a short search, they found that my order was never put back into the production line. They apologized for the inconvenience and said it would be ready today (Monday). I call today to see when my glasses would be available for pick up only to be transferred to the customer service line. I was then put on hold again only to be told that my glasses would not be ready UNTIL the 17th, which is EXACTLY TWO WEEKS from when I ordered it. It's not even about the glasses at this point, it's the principle. I would have preferred to just receive the information about production at the beginning to determine how to go on about it and I called three different times and received three different answers. I am big on customer service and unfortunately I will not be returning once I pick up my orders in TWO WEEKS apparently. UPDATE: (01/07/2020) I received a call from Adam, apologizing for the inconvenience and explained that there was an issue in the lab which was a technical oversight. And he let me know that both orders were ready for pick up today. Once I entered the store, he again apologized. I appreciated the apology and felt that it was genuine and empathetic. Making an appointment was terrible - cancelled 2 times and showed up for the third to be turned away because it was past the time they allow appointments 2. The appointment was fine, until I found out that they screwed my prescription up when my glasses arrived with the wrong prescription 3. Called 10+ times to the store and the 877 number for over two hours before anyone answered 4. No one able to tell me how the prescription was screwed up or what they could do to fix it unless I go in person. My experience started with a not so welcoming terrible foul smell. Mold? Piss? Who knows. I was the last appointment of the day. Got my examination and dilation then was asked to pick my frames. The doctor was out of the building before I even started to look at frames. I had about 10ish minutes of okay vision before I just couldn't see anything. I explained that I couldn't see, and asked how long till it wore off, I was told about an hour and a half....the place closed at 7:00 so I couldn't wait it off. I picked out glasses with the "help" of Israel. I specifically asked that if I didn't like them once I came to pick them up if I could exchange them and he said "yes, I would just have to pay the difference if I picked a higher cost frame." seemed fair and I didn't really seem to have any other options but to pick what I had in my hand. Came to get my glasses a day later and definitely don't like them, but I am a people pleaser so I was planning to keep them; That was until I tried to wear them on my way home and couldn't see anything. Tried to wear them at work the next day, couldn't see anything there either. I definitely was not given the correct prescription. I called to make an appointment to correct this and since I had to go back, I was definitely going to pick glasses that I liked, you know, considering I wear them all day everyday. I go to my appointment (place still smells like it was dipped in piss and hung out in the sun to bake...barf) and see a new physician. He was great. Hoping this prescription comes out correct. I go to the counter (AFTER picking out frames I like because, I can actually see this time) and the same guy is checking me out, Israel. He does what he does and says "okay, you're all set"......I explain that the frames I picked are cheaper than the ones I had previously got (not even a week ago) how am I "all set"? He doesn't really have an answer for me, just tells me it is what it is. I am not getting any money back "I signed the dilation waiver". I remind him of our conversation the previous time I was in and he tells me "I remember, I told you that you could exchange your glasses." shady sales man. Regardless, Stanton has a 30 day guarantee, however, it is at the discretion of the store manager to approve that refund, corporate cannot give the refunds. Considering the manager of the store I went to, is the same shady salesman I dealt with, I don't see the refund coming from Stanton. In Jenson Beach/Stuart, I paid for an order with eyes check and insurance on June 26, 2020 and I still do not have my two glasses done as of September 13!!!!! 3 MONTHS and still NOT done!!!! This place is a joke and a rip off. The 2 pair for $59 with free exam turned out to be one misdiagnose ( wrong prescription) and almost$500 for two pair. My wife went in got the wrong prescription and got talked into two pairs of pricey glasses she really didn't need. When one pair broke just shy of a year we hot new frames with the understanding the new ones came with a warranty. Not so according to one of the many rude employees of Stanton Optical at this location. Stay away. So now now glasses that work with one broken arm they refuse to make good. read more

The only good thing about this company are the commercials. First they ordered the wrong frames, when they came and I wore them I could not see properly. I had to have another exam with a different doctor (who wasn't happy about having to redo someone else's bad exam). I asked them to wait to order the second while I wore the glasses for awhile to make certain that the prescription was correct this time. I apparently waited too long to get the other pair ordered so they are refusing to honor the 2nd pair free. I had stopped in several times but was told that my salesperson was not in and that I would have to come back to order the second pair. Probably made 6 or 7 trips and ended up with only one pair of glasses. Don't expect help from corporate, you will not get it. This was the worst retail experience of my life.
