A great village post office right at the centre of Sutton Bonington…read more Like many village post offices the Royal Mail has restricted what Sutton Bonington Post Office can do (So no passports etc) However there is still a lot here and its so much more convenient than having to take a 20 min bus journey to Loughborough. The postmaster is polite, friendly and helpful. The post office is clean, well presented and acts as a hub of information for village life. The post office also sells exclusive hand-made Bonington Bears which considering they are hand made in the UK are very good value for money. For £25 I bought a lovely 15cm tall bear (sitting) called Cherry As well as there bears there is a range of hand made jewllery, confectionary, gifts and other essentials. Support your local post office!

There is now a pub/family restaurant built next door so you don't need to travel too far for food. It's a little outside of the city centre but it only takes 5/10 mins by bus/taxi to get there. In the entrance of the hotel they have a vending machine and two computers that you can use to access the internet for a small fee. You can also pay to access the internet on your own laptop. The rooms in the hotel are nicely decorated and cleaned. There are the basic things you would expect in a hotel. They clean the rooms well everyday. Even though they have just built a new block on to the hotel it gets very busy and you will need to book a room. The prices per night are okay for what you get. The nearest shops are not too far by car.

The rooms are of a reasonable standard, I believe that the hotel has had a recent make over. As we were there in a large group the food was cooked to a menu of our design. This means the food was very good. The kitchen staff were always willing to meet whatever changes we made to the menu and the food was always plentiful and hot. None of that tepid food you often experience with hotel buffets. The bar was open as long as you were in it, although after 11pm they would only serve you if you were a resident of the hotel as there was no cash payments accepted after this time. In the age we live in wifi is a necessity and the wifi, free wifi, provided was super fast. This hotel has established itself to cater for the business traveller as opposed to the holiday maker. If you are Loughborough way on business and need a reasonably priced hotel just off the M1 this is a very good option.

Well worth a visit and located near the quaint village of Castle Donnington where you will find a healthy helping of traditional but tastefull English pubs!

Failing that, there is a multistorey car park next to the hotel for which there is a discounted fee of £15 for hotel residents. It is a shame that the pool has been closed for a number of years, but I understand the reason as it primarily due to the running costs. All the staff I met were great. Slight problem was that my credit card hadn't been requested to add extgras, this was rectified later. I paid for a stocked minibar, it appeared to be chargeable to the room any items removed. It ws only just before checkout that I found that this wasn't the case. The signage in the fridge was confusing. Nevertheless a good size room and a comfortable bed. Although, my wife complained about the hard pillows.....I didn't find them to be a problem. I'm sure the hotel would have rectified them for my wife, if she had asked. I was recognised as a Diamond Elite member and breakfast was therefore included free of charge. The breakfast offerings were great, unfortunately, I didn't see the porridge in time and had cereal. Not the end of the world. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Its well served by fast trains to Sheffield, Derby and is only just over an hour from London! Shame the bus station is right over the other side. Of the city, making those connections trickier! Less than an hour from London from 2019!

Yeah, this is a pretty cool station, but in a way it is sort of like a lot of the major stations…read morethat you encounter along the British rail network. Yeah, I have to admit that it is pretty cool, and the trains do come along here quite regularly. In fact, that they come through here regularly is actually pretty cool because it means that I don't get stuck in one place. Also, it is a relatively short walk to the main part of the town.

I am no exception. I was in Nottingham for my sister's graduation ceremony. One of my biggest fear when staying in European hotels is associated with the heating element during winter. Since they have to keep the pipes not frozen, many hotels turn the heating WAY TOO HOT. Inexpensive hotels especially do not provide humidifying device which causes the air to be really really dry. This was not an issue at Premier Travel Inn. The location of this hotel is really convenient. You are at a walking distance to many food choices and Tesco. There is also a Costa within the hotel serving yummy coffee. I particularly love their "30 minutes free internet access" every day. When requested, they will give you a free internet access card valid for 30 minutes. 30 minutes is just enough to browse any important emails but then you won't be so attached to the computer to miss out the vacation. Loved it! Overall, I recommend staying at this hotel if you are traveling to Nottingham. Nottingham is a romantic little town - home to Robin Hood. :)
