She is jittery and cries and makes you feel like a bad person for leaving her. Our last groomer left his position suddenly and Lily had only just got used to him after some years. Craig gave us a warm welcome and said she will be fine. So with heavy and anxious hearts we went straight to the nearby pub to wait the inevitable. Our mobile ready for that text saying it's not going well. But to our amazement, after the scheduled time and a few cocktails later Craig texted us saying she was done. When we were presented with Lily we couldn't believe that she was the same dog! She had settled down quickly, gave Craig an adoring side-eye and looked beautiful. Craig did a wonderful job and we were delighted with the result. I can't tell you how grateful we were. Craig has a unique understanding of dogs (we're thinking that he's a secret dog whisperer) and he's a lovely, lovely man. Did I mention that he's an artist? It goes without saying that we will commission a portrait of Lily. It usually takes Lily a long time, if ever to accept a new person in her life but sometime from when we left her and returned she decided that Craig was OK. "Hand stripping, nail clipping and ear cleaning". I asked him not to scalp the dog with the understanding that he shouldn't be left bare. My partner picked up the dog unaware of our conversation. Very little had been taken off and the nails hadn't been touched. "The nails probably didn't need done and you asked me not to scalp him, he's been nurtured so that's probably why the process wasn't so effective, if you want more work done, you'll have to pay me for my time" I was initially very chuffed to get appointment with such a well regarded groomer but have been left very disappointed and £50.00 out of pocket. My regular groomer is back from maternity next month, thank goodness.

I remember reading a story that a man that raised cattle was arrested because his cows looked skinny but this was found to be totally natural and it was only because he wasn't fattening them up - he knew how to keep animals and onlookers didn't and in their naivety thought he was being cruel. - I'm only half sure I know what I'm talking about but nothing in that shop looks happy or healthy.

Unfortunately, Dofos is full of these violent, two-faced gits who are just prowling about the place like they're something special. Further, there seem to be cages all over the place with emaciated, bored parrots in them who don't want to 'play ball' with the talking thing. They do, however, have plenty of pet food, accessories, cages and even medicines for animal ailments. I haven't had a pet since my rabbit died in 2002 (RIP Smokey), but if I did I probably wouldn't come here for the pet food. The prices are reasonable and they have a good range of products, but the cats just do my head in!

Jacqui looked after our little rescue dog for a few nights just a month after we rescued him. We…read morewere worried about how it would go but what can I say, Jacqui has worked a miracle. The timid little dog has come on leaps and bounds in his confidence and his behaviour with other dogs. Jacqui told us in her professional opinion that he could be walked off the lead and she was right. She sent us loads of video and told us how she managed him off the lead. His recall is brilliant and we've worked on the building blocks she gave us. He even eats better now. I can't thank Jacqui enough for the love and care she showed him and for the confidence she has given us. We will continue with the work she started and are eternally grateful.
