The chicken sandwich is my go-to, i like Nashville hot, it's crispy, well seasoned, and goes perfectly with their truffle aioli. Who doesn't like a good truffle sauce? If I am not feeling spicy, I go for their regular sandwich, which is delicious as well, and I have had their tenders (I am not too keen on the though my husband loves them). And I have had their fries, which are also good. I am not a soda person at all, but I did try their super unique soda once, they have some fun flavors. It felt indulgent Overall, it's a a decent spot with decent customer service (which can be a hit or a miss sometimes) hence I deducted a star. I don't understand the high reviews... AT ALL. The 4 piece chicken I ordered was so dry it felt like chewing bits of meat that wasn't chicken. The elote corn was soo salty like what. Couldn't taste the mayonnaise or corn. Oh my god the truffle fries...cmon it's fries you can't mess up. It was only slightly flavorful and only for the fries on the top. Once you get to the sides or middle they were soggy, not salty, and just gross. The only saving point of this meal were the churros. I don't understand the hype- you can get the justbare spicy chicken from the FROZEN aisle and it still taste way better than this. Overall: 2/10 recommend. The combination with the bacon was good but the bbq sauce was quite tart and there was a lot of it so I felt that it overpowered the sandwich and made it soggy. The fries were disappointing. Easy to place an order and only $25 delivery charge to order directly through them. Ordered a variety of salads, sandwich boxes, tenders, and like how they have Gardenbirds as an option for our vegetarian friends. The food was great, they got the orders correct, people really liked the kettle chips and the portions are plentiful. I really enjoyed my Green Goddess salad with crispy tenders, plenty of cheese, avocado smash, a full egg, and fresh ingredients like radish, pickled onions, and chopped lettuce. Came tonight for a Yelp Elite Squad event. Everything was great. Starbird was so nice to partner with Yelp to host it. The restaurant is so clean. The servers were friendly and inviting. One of the gals asked me if I liked my salad as I asked for a lid because the salad was huge!!! She and I chatted about the food and you could see her passion in her work. Now to the learning curve. We ordered drinks and had to chase them down for cups. The fries were cold, and though we ordered aioli and honey mustard they forgot it. We had to walk them through our check. They prepared it to go when we said for here. There was a black employee handing out $10 off online order coupons, but only to college women. He'd go up to your table and ask if you went to college nearby and if you said yes would give you the voucher. He skipped our table because there are no college ladies here LOL. There's no thai tea at this location and the tables were dirty so you had to bus them yourself. I did speak to a team member who was nice and she gave us a cookie for our troubles, and next time I visit (doubt I'll be in palo alto though) the supervisor said i coukd have one free item. The chicken was so tender and juicy, seems more fresh than other locations. Very crispy and large. I had the classic 3 tender box with fries and slaw. It was delicious and filling. Everything was flavorful and fresh, the slaw was good. The fries were a bit soft and potato-y. The dips were excellent, I always go for honey chipotle bbq and greek yogurt ranch. So good! Some items were forgotten when I picked up, but the staff was able to resolve it quickly. The lemonade and teas were refreshing; the berry bliss lemonade is great!! I love this new location! The staff are really kind and the food was nothing short of great. I highly recommend the Thai Chicken Salad or Cali BBQ Gold Salad. Very refreshing and the fried chicken is the best! Don't skimp on that salad dressing... Their Berry Bliss Lemonade and Thai Iced Tea are my favorite drinks here too! Truffle fries are really good too. The staff (unfortunately) accidentally lost our order, but they were INCREDIBLY QUICK in figuring out the problem and getting our food out with haste. I was in the mood for a chicken sandwich. I asked one of those AI chatbot things for a recommendation. It came up with Starbird. I walked in. The lack of anyone attending the one cash register gave me the clue that I was supposed to order through the touch screen. That didn't go well. It demanded a cell phone number and warned that I would be spammed for the rest of my life ... or at least until I figured out how to opt out. I tracked down an attendant and said that I didn't have a cell phone. She keyed in a magic number with a 408 area code. Finally, I got to the payment part. I asked to pay with cash. Nope. Can't do that on a touch screen. Ugh! Cancel the touch screen transaction and move over to that one cash register. After tax, the basic chicken sandwich with no add-ons cost me $10.88. It took roughly 10 minutes to show up on the pick-up counter. The sandwich itself was not to my liking. Maybe it was just over-cooked. The coating took the notion of crispy / crunchy to the extreme. The chicken was somewhere on the scale of not-tender to just plain tough. The slaw, sauce and bun were just fine, but hey, I came for the chicken. So excited to have a new Starbird Chicken in this location in Palo Alto! My family and I are already Starbird fans and this new location did not disappoint. We visited during their grand opening and everything was fantastic! The location is bright, large, inviting, and sparkling clean. Parking was easy to find on the street (but may become harder to find once the vacant building neighbor units get occupied). The service was top notch - everyone was so friendly and helpful! The food was outstanding. They served up fresh, generous portions, and everything was oh-so-tasty! Our favorites today were the truffle fries, the chicken nuggets, the Starbird 2.0 chicken sandwich, and the lemonade! Definitely my go to spot for chicken sandwiches right now. The one thing I'd say that makes them stand out is that the chicken sandwich has a lot of "structural integrity" to put it one way. The bread is nice and fluffy and the sandwich doesn't feel smashed when you get it like Popeye's or Shake Shack. What I'd like to see is more side options like spicy fries with aioli and also their Nashville Blazin be even more spicy. I can barely taste the spice. read more
