I have been a returning customer of Starbucks for years. I get it to "support local" but safe to say these employees at 2222 and Balcones are local. I actually like Starbucks. I went there this morning at about 7:00, walked in, no one in line nor waiting. I ordered 2 egg bites, an oatmeal and a danish (no coffee) paid with my phone app, sat down and waited. After 15 to 20 minutes later (and during this time, no one said anything like "your order is coming right up" or anything remotely close. No eye contact, no acknowledgement whatsoever, I was a ghost customer. I walked up to the cashier and said, I'd like to cancel my order. After a blank stare of confusion, no one seemed to know what happen to my order. Then suddenly a tall, slim white guy with a man-bun said in a rude way "oh here you go" and I said "that's ok, no thank you". I politely told them to wait almost 20 minutes for a simple order of food (no drinks) is unacceptable customer service". I asked them to just go ahead and give it to a homeless person. To turn my lite frustration and disappointment to compassion. Now 3 of them gave me the confused blank stare again. I said "that's ok... I'll do it for you. These kiddos need some serious customer service training. I won't be going back to this location again or at least for a while. read more

A Starbucks is a Starbucks is a Starbucks. Not a single one really ever stands out to me. This is my coffee-watering hole because it's literally one block from my house- add that to ample outdoor seating and the faster than normal service and we've got a real winner. The staff is polite, the drinks are made swiftly, and there is a limited presence of douchebaggery if you go later in the evening. I avoid the lunch crowds and all their laptops. read more

Horrible service. The tea was good. I can't believe I had to wait forever. It seems that every time we go to the location on balcones the service justs gets worse and worse. I order a basic pastry and then 10 to 15 minutes later we have to go up there and find out it was ready all long. This Starbucks makes up for what many other bux in Austin are lacking - friendly service. A friend and I used to meet here on weekday mornings before work, and I thought the inside space was roomy. There is always a steady stream of customers, but that's to be expected. We have since decided to branch out and try local coffee shops around town, but this Starbucks still serves my I'm-late-for-work-but-still-need-my-coffee mode (which is about four days out of the week, let's be honest). The drive through window is always fast, no matter how long the line is. And when I round the corner and am united with my caffeinated beverage, the person holding it is always sporting a smile. This Starbucks is always a disappointment. Today I waited forever for someone to take my order. Although She was apologetic when she finally appeared she was out of of breath while taking my order and very slow to complete my order. When I pulled up to the window she was very busy eating and it took a few minutes to even acknowledge I was there. I ordered a muffin warmed and it was burnt (how is that possible?) the girl in the drive thru was so discombobulated it was uncomfortable. Will not go back to this Starbucks. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks. Not only does it have a wonderful, friendly staff who makes me happy to see them in the morning, but some of them do funny voices over the drive through intercom. Things are consistently correct at this location. I really hate to say this, since I love me some local, independent coffee, but even if there were such a place open across the street, I'd still hit the Bux some of the time. Iced coffee is just. so. good. It's also all of two blocks from my office, so... yeah. For a Starbucks, it gets five stars. I really wish it had iced toddy, though. read more

I pretty much never go to Starbucks these days, but I picked up 4 travelers from this location today and we had the best experience. I called ahead (but really--- only by about 45 minutes, at 8:30 am), for my order at 9:15. When we got to the store at 9:08 everything was already ready and packed with all the fixings! The staff went out of their way, brought the containers to our car in the 40 degree rain, and every one was very friendly and welcoming. I never received service this well from a coffee shop when they are just getting absolutely railed in the drive through and inside, and I have to say, I was impressed. I always forget that Starbucks can't take tips on card, so I felt the need to go to the ATM and grab these guys a 20 for going above and beyond. Will always use this location for coffee for my staff meetings from now on. read more

I made the mistake of thinking that my past experiences at this Starbucks were just "bad days." Unfortunately, I have never received the service I have come to expect from the high standards the other Starbucks in the city have displayed. On my last visit, I was given a drink that wasn't filled to the top when "creamer to the top" was requested. The male associate told me that the manager had told him that they don't do that as it would constitute a larger drink. This was a regular iced coffee that at every other Starbucks I frequent is filled to the top without asking for cream to the top. If that is Starbucks policy, then it's unfortunate that it is not enforced across the board to set the expectation. Secondly, as I began to explain that every other Starbucks I frequent fills it to the top, he closes the drive thru window and walks away. This is the epitome of the worst customer service. I know this is not the highest paying job, but it's a customer service job none-the-less. read more

Never going back. Not only did our drink order get passed up by multiple customers who came in after us, but our drinks were low quality (just two iced coffees but maybe 4 ice cubes in each). We were asked multiple times if we were waiting on an order, we said yes, and still nothing. At one point, a fellow employee behind the counter rolled his eyes at my husband when he mentioned that all we had were iced coffees. Very unprofessional and very disappointed with this location. Their prep counter never has all the different milk options for your coffee and they never have the sugar ready to pour. It's dirty. It smells. I have been lucky to always work within walking distance from a Starbucks. Recently I have changed jobs and I'm all over ATX everyday. Unfortunately most of the Starbucks I have been going to just don't seem to have the same quality service that they have had in the past. I've often wondered if their training had changed or the company focus on customers service changed. I came to this Starbucks and from the moment I walked into the door they treated me like I mattered. The person at the counter noticed me walking in and she immediately greeted me , even though the line was out the door! As I waited in line one of the associates was stocking shelves and she struck up a conversation with me! I placed my order and they were so nice. They said thank you and how can I help you. I stayed for awhile to do some work and on my way out the young lady whom I had spoken to in line said " Have a great day and good luck in your new job,Lori ". Yes, all of these things should happen in a perfect customer service world but let's face it they don't. I commend this Starbucks for continuing to uphold their commitment to great service and providing a place where customers want to go. read more

Second timer his has happened. I come to this Starbucks for breakfast most days. Today I ordered my food inside before drive thru was backed up a little. You think going inside and having 2 people in front of you it wouldn't take 25 minuets to get my bacon guda sandwich. Everyone infront of my left and got their order. Granted this location has a drive thru, but even so - I visited this location at 3pm in-store and the service was excruciatingly slow. I waited nearly 15 mins for a drink (i was meeting a client for work) while there were at least 4 baristas working (+1 at drive-thru) and nobody at all in line besides me. The cashier wasn't friendly at all. When I asked how the day was going he curtly answered "well I'm working so it's whatever". I'd hate to see this crew in front of the morning rush. as far as Starbucks go... this one ain't the greatest. + decent amount of seating inside -- drink (iced caramel macchiato) wasn't good compared to other Starbucks. on 2 different occasions -- wifi was spotty and slow - view out if the front window sucks. all you see is the run down carwash, 2 gas stations, and the freeway. not that I go to Starbucks for the view, but this one is just depressing. read more

This is a great location. The workers know me every time I come in and know exactly what I want coffee and food wise! It's like they have it already ready before I get here! And if they are busy and it's not fast or something goes wrong they always do something to fix it. This is now the SLOWEST drive thru ever. --- Updated review for 11/21 visit - drive thru (5/5 stars) The drive thru service is phenomenal. The line wrapped around the back of the building, but was constantly moving. I received my order immediately upon arrival at the window. 5/5 stars for the drive through crew! --- Original review - walk in (1/5 stars) Mobile orders kill the service speed. My drink was made incorrectly. 9 minute wait from the moment I paid until I had drink in hand. (7:14am-7:23am) Unacceptable with 7 people behind the counter. At least 8 mobile orders were prepared (3 just sat there, not even picked up) before mine, and I was the only person waiting at the end bar. Live bodies should be prioritized over mobile orders. My advice? Bypass the lousy in-store service at this location and use the drive thru. Better yet, go to a different store altogether if you can't use the drive thru. read more

Sometimes OK but mostly NOT. About 98% of the time my order is wrong. I think only 3 times I've been here that my drink was awesome. The other times the coffee is old and burned. Sometimes it is so crappy I don't drink it. Its just meh here. read more

Super friendly staff. Very small though and often busy. After waiting a solid 20 min for my beverage I would have expected a complimentary larger size or small cokkje or something. 20 minutes is longer than most meals take to come out and is not ok for a drink. read more

Normally I'm more partial to local coffee shops, but the employees at this Starbucks are so friendly and goofy. Every time I go inside, they make my day and they never mess up my drink (unlike some other Starbucks locations). Plus the have a drive through which makes your on the go coffee cravings easy. read more

I frequent Starbucks all over the country and was disappointed today when I ordered two iced drinks from my neighborhood Starbucks and found that they cut a corner and did not mix either drink before pouring them over ice resulting in unmixable clumps of the powder in the bottom of both drinks. Additionally, the server working the drive-thru window was uninterested in helping to correct the issue. read more

Inside there much quicker, but there is a small parking lot, so it's hard to find somewhere to park. it's a Starbucks, so basically all the drinks are the same as other Starbucks.
