Ordered a Grande Coffee with pumpkin spice. I did not even taste a hint of any pumpkin spice. Either they use a flavorless pumpkin spice, or they are extremely cheap with their flavoring. Surprised since I paid $5.00 for it. I'm not mad that I paid $5.00, I just expected to taste pumpkin flavoring for $5.00. This is not a company owned store. I was informed of this when I tried to redeem reward points for a free coffee. They do not take reward points. You do earn them on purchases though. Also, this store charges CT sales tax on the pound bags of whole bean coffee unlike every other Starbucks I've bought whole bean coffee in CT. I looked up the tax code - coffee to be made at home is not taxable. Prepared coffee is taxable. Otherwise it's fine I guess. read more

Just stopped in for an iced mocha. $7.45 I drink them several times per week and have actually had some of my best at this truck stop Starbucks. Today three young people behind counter tried to convince me that my drink that tasted like YooHoo was correctly made. I asked if the espresso machine was working correctly and they all assured me it was. One gal sullenly made me another drink and pushed it onto the counter. There's a reason this store has 2.5 stars. Their service is not friendly, at least the two people we interacted with weren't. Their coffee is burnt and watered down, definitely not worth the almost $20 we spent for 3 drinks. I'd save your time and money and skip this Starbucks. I also got a dirty look from a barista after asking for strawberries in my tea. They just weren't the customer service you look for. read more

Today I went to my local store in Branford CT, the one next to Chipotle. I normally order a drink and waters or just waters sometimes with a tip. I pulled into the drive-thru and I ordered waters to which I heard from the employee, "ugh can you come into the store for that." I replied "No my 2 year old daughter is sleeping I can't come in." To which the employee replied "ugh fine," in as an annoyed tone as possible. I said thank you and the he added "Wait is that *all* you're getting?!" in a shocked tone. Now feeling like a complete bother to this person, I just replied "thank you" again and he ignored me. So I drove up, he didn't make eye contact with me or say a word to me, only handed me my waters. I said thank you again to no reply and then asked for a drink carrier. All I got back was him rolling his eyes and another "ugh," as if this interaction was ruining his day. I have been going to this Starbucks for years. I have spent likely over a thousand dollars there as this was my favorite place to go. But this barista, whose name is Danny by the way, decided to completely crush all the good experiences I had at this location. I will now be taking my business not just to another location but to a different business entirely. The complete lack of customer service or just human decency was more than enough for me to never return. So thank you Danny you just lost Starbucks a lifetime customer. read more

glad to find a Starbucks at a Travel Center (no less) that i would not have thought to go in a million years if it wasn't for a case of screaming toddler mid-travel. and i needed/wanted coffee. so this is the right place at the right time. counter was small, but seems like they got pretty much everything from food to drink, and maybe even more staff than my regular SB by square footage ratio LOL. my order was taken and seconds later it's out there with a "have a good day" - already more hospitality than what I get at my regular store. and they were equipped with a working app scanner, which also surpasses the one right next to work that has one but system always breaks down. anyways. wasn't really thinking anything but a cold brew -- not that i've had one with them but since it's a thing, i'll get one. the picture they feature on the menu has some milky substance cascading down the jar and bits of coconut by the bottom of the jar. distracted by my toddler i wasn't quite looking if there are diff kinds; just thought that's with coconut milk so i was like whatever i'll have a cold brew. $3.65 (tall) later, following the sweet voice of "have a nice day", i came to find my cold brew not having the sexy creamy stuff i expected. did i have to ask for the coconut milk or it's on the self-served counter? no matter, i'll get whatever milk over there myself. not having enough space in the cup for milk, i had to take a couple sips straight. tastes like regular coffee to me, on ice, maybe even lighter. i pay $1.95 for my regular tall coffee, hot. let's say iced coffee might have been $2.50, what's the extra dollar and change for?? cold brewing, which incurs NO electricity cost??? at the self-served counter i saw the mini poster, featuring "toasted coconut cold brew". should i have been more specific? it could have been just a pump of syrup, or two. while i don't usually need sugar in my coffee, i could have used some flavor today. maybe i was spoiled by the last cold brew i had in a specialty coffee store. even the one previous to last (my first) that was strangely salty giving me a taste memory of soysauce, it still has more to it than this one. this one is an iced coffee, maybe even less than just that. not saying i should penalize the store for a less than satisfactory product that they are not at fault with. i just wish that the barista could have checked in whether i wanted regular or the flavored one to alert me of the existence of both. they were not busy at all, i was the only one there. maybe they didn't want to insult me by doing just that, as if i didn't come in knowing, and i appreciate that. but since it's a fairly new product across the board, they could have been trained to sell it better. that, and my straw cracked half way through my drink. almost never happened to my other iced SB coffee experiences. how long been these straw stored for and under what condition? read more

This isn't a typical Starbucks location. Set in a rest stop off of the highway, it's basically a small Starbucks-esque service counter. No comfy and cozy seating atmosphere. Nestled next to a Popeyes and a Subway. Kind of a "get me in and out of there real quick" feeling. I only go here because it is the only one in the area. read more

Kind of in a weird location. Not what you'd expect for a Starbucks. It's hidden about 1/2 mile off 95 and in the Travel Center. Only about 2 employees working at a time. Seems like they're limited with food options in comparison to other Starbucks but at least the line moved pretty quickly and everything tasted fresh. read more

Nice, clean Starbucks inside a seemingly brand new gas station/rest area. It's very conveniently located right off of the highway. This a full-fledged Starbucks so they do take Starbucks gift cards. Service was friendly and the baked good case was well-stocked for a Sunday evening. Nothing to complain about here! read more

As a Starbucks, this is the worst one I have ever been too. They almost always get my order wrong and their coffee always tastes a little watered down. I wouldn't care if I weren't getting charged the regular Starbucks prices. I have been here enough times to learn that it isn't just the person on for the day, or maybe it was a new barista. I go every Friday after the gym. Always friendly in the morning and very nice. Recently got new morning staff who are miserable and don't even greet the customer. I understand some people aren't morning people but it's your job at least fake it. For the past three weeks they have got my order wrong which is very simple. Black with very very little heavy cream. I make sure I repeat myself so I know they can hear me. Every time I get it back it's a cup of heavy cream with a very little coffee. I ask them to fix it our I have no problem buying a new cup. They look at me with a death stare don't even open their mouth on how to fix it or what they can do to fix my $4.41 coffee. I will drive out of my way to go somewhere else due to unfriendly and rude staff. I must say though, the morning lady before the new group was great that's why I would go there! I'm a big Starbucks fan and I have the app and I go there all the time and it is very delicious but when me and my sister went there to the one on industrial road Branford I was very disappointed to taste my sisters drink. She got a hot chocolate and it was made with spoiled milk. It was very gross and tasted horrible while mine was good. She had stomach aches the rest of the day. I'm disappointed in this trip to Starbucks never again will I drink hot chocolate from there. I felt horrible for my sister and it was the worst 3 dollars I ever spent on something horrible. read more
