Unfortunately, our experience at Sarayburnu Aile Çay Bahçesi was extremely disappointing.
We visited as a group of family and friends hoping to enjoy the location and spend a pleasant evening together. Instead, we experienced what we felt was very rude and unprofessional treatment from some members of the staff.
We were initially given a table, but shortly afterward we were asked to move because of the size of our group. When we tried to discuss the situation and asked to speak with a manager, the disagreement escalated rather than being handled calmly and professionally.
During the incident, we felt that some staff members became unnecessarily aggressive toward our group, and there was also a serious disagreement involving our phone while we were trying to document what was happening. The situation became uncomfortable enough that we eventually contacted the Tourism Police for assistance.
We were also deeply disturbed by comments made during the confrontation that we understood as disrespectful toward Arabs and their nationality/background. Regardless of where a customer comes from, I believe everyone should be treated with the same basic dignity and respect.
As an American visiting Istanbul, I have generally enjoyed the hospitality I have experienced in Turkey, which made this particular incident especially disappointing.
This review reflects our personal experience during this specific visit. I cannot speak for other customers, but based on what happened to us, I personally would not return or recommend this establishment to my family or friends.
I hope management takes complaints like this seriously and ensures that disagreements with customers are handled calmly, respectfully, and professionally in the future.
