When in Long Beach, I hit a slump in the middle of the day and thankfully passed by this Starbucks when I knew I had to pull over for some fuel. Thankfully parking was super easy, with a metered spot waiting for me right in front. I placed the mobile order in my car and it was ready promptly as I made my way into the store. The employee there was friendly, assisting me in finding my order. I really love how they write uplifting and encouraging words on your cup, which truly made my day! I ordered the matcha with a shot of horchata and I must say, there are no words to describe just how decadent and rich in flavor it was. I'm always scared to order matcha but thankfully their version isn't too bitter. The frothed oat milk really helped enhance the flavor and texture too. But I must say, the horchata flavor was just the perfect amount of sweetness to have me really feeling good after drinking it. I sat outside on their spacious and gorgeous patio and while it could have been cleaner, it was still a lovely way to really indulge in my drink. Convenient location across from courthouse. Gets pretty busy but the line moves quickly. definitely not a location I would order from if in a rush. Workers here seem to stay busy and the place is surprisingly clean for how much foot traffic it has on a daily basis. read more

This Starbucks is nestled on a corner across from the Long Beach City buildings. This is a busy location but the batistas are always nice and friendly. I had a Venti Shaken Ecpresso, with oatmilk, matcha foam delicious satisfying drink and they make it just right (not warm). I tried their new chocolate pistachio with pecan it was soft and i can really taste the pistachio, enjoyed it. I come here to chill, work on my music, read, and also drink their Trenta Green Tea. Can't believe I haven't written a review for my most frequented Starbucks! Been working in DT over 15 years and my coworkers and I have been here even before this Starbucks was built. This location has always been our go-to place because it's right around the corner for us plus it's the only one nearby that's clean and nice to go to! Over the years, there have been lots of changes on the baristas side but you can tell whoever manages this location has always tried their best to train their baristas and kept the place as clean as they could! I have to say throughout the years, of course there were few outliners, but all the baristas here have been absolutely wonderful and a joy to see and chat to every time. They also have someone writing on our drinks lately. Hope it continues and it's such a nice personal touch to light up someone's day. I'm not sure if the store hired new employees or if it's too busy but my drinks have consistently been disgusting each time I've ordered. Yea, coffee prices here as well as all the Starcrooks have gone through the roof, but this location has some special qualities you won't find elsewhere: At no other Starbucks Location in the United States will you find such a diverse and expansive clientele all coming together in one place. At this Starbucks you will sit and rub elbows with Police (Headquarters across the street), Firemen (Headquarters across the street), Homeless (Large homeless encampments at the Library and Civic Center down the block), Pilots and Flight Attendants (The Hilton a couple of blocks away is a popular spot for flight crews), Wealthy people who can afford the $3000 to $5000 a month rentals or 1 million dollar condos in the immediate area, great gay and lesbians folks (This area is the second largest gay residential area in LA next to West Hollywood), and of course Tourists like me. They have a large indoor sitting area, and a large covered outdoor patio. This is type of place I can just sit for hours outside on the patio sipping a Pikes Black and watch life go by. Such a great feel here. And if you get hungry--Panini is just down the block and KINGS Fish is 3 blocks down. Meter parking all over--free on Sunday in this area. (Watch signs--some streets you have to feed the meter all days.) Easy walk to the new Mark Bixby Pedestrian Bridge Path diagonally across from the Hilton (that's why I was at this Starbucks) or Long Beach Shoreline with a view of the Queen Mary. Welp I thought I was going to be in and out but that wasn't the case. There was one person ahead of me then, my order was taken - simple tall peach tranquility tea and a gift card. I'm waiting for my tea at least 5 people were served their drink including folks that just ordered. I'm trying to wrap my head around how my simple hot water with a tea bag was skipped???!!! As I see the young lady taking orders serving regular coffee to folks behind me. It's been 8 mins and I'm still not served. I walk up to the clerk taking orders to ask about my drink? She says she's not sure what happen. I'm like can you please just make it?! She says "yes of course" . This could've been done just as well as she did with folks asking for regular coffee. First and foremost, I'm not a Starbucks fan. Just wanted to throw that out there. However, when I do happen to mosey on down to my local Starbucks on my work break, you know its going to be this one. The DIRTY CHAI. Okay, so my coworkers have raved about this drink. Its not fluffy like a unicorn drink or whatever. Its straight up chai with espresso. It's not on the menu, so don't go looking.... just try it--do your hot chai and add 2 shots of espresso. So, truth be told, I could not remember what the dirty chai was, so I had previously ordered a hot matcha green tea with espresso. That was good, too. If chai isn't your thing, but matcha is, this is equally as good. Flavors were totally complimentary, like dark chocolate and matcha. This Starbucks has stickers on the floor to encourage social distancing, but this place is usually packed. The counter next to the barista is especially crowded, since people who order through the app will crowd around there along with all the other patrons who order in person. I like this location, with their outdoor patio. Always a nice place to sit and people watch. You never know who is gonna walk out of the court house across the street and the busyness of downtown in general is always entertaining. read more

For me, the most comfortable outdoor seating is at this branch. Most orders are to go and interior seating is not set up. Very pleasant time and relaxing time spent with friends (Bf former student) on this patio. I realize that I make a pucker expression whenever I try a new drink but eventually I enjoy it. Some ice must be diluting the contents. Perhaps "watered down" is my style. Vivid color is my goal. Since Hibiscus refresher did not list any hibiscus in the ingredients, I tried the Mango Dragonfruit refresher. Well I'll be! No wonder I've not felt the tiniest bit sleepy! Conveniently located across from the courthouse on Magnolia Avenue, this Starbucks gets quite busy on the weekdays. However, you may have issues finding parking if you don't work or live in the area. For the most part, I prefer this location over the one at The Pike because it's not as dirty and you don't get as many tourists, kids, or people (in general). Getting your order right is a hit-or-miss here. Sometimes, they do a really good job, and other times, as expected with high traffic areas, they mess up. They will fix their mistakes if you inform them, so that's good. Overall, probably the best Starbucks to go to in downtown Long Beach. read more

One of my favorite Sbux spots by my work. The location is on the corner of Broadway and Magnolia with street parking (which for the most part is always full), but there is free validated parking in the residential/commercial lots inside. Just get your parking ticket validated, it's automatic and easy. You can also enter the Sbux from the parking garage. This location always makes my mobile app order correct. The coffee's always made in time and the baristas are always nice and pleasant. It's a perfect stop for when I get off the 710 freeway going to work. I came in here to work for a few minutes while my boyfriend was at a meeting. Immediately when I got in I was greeted to the site of several police officers not wearing masks properly (hint: it goes over your nose geniuses) & a passively aggressive lack of outlets. Most all of their outlets inside were covered, making this spot one which essentially told me that they do not want folks to stay there long. I wanted to work a bit here. I could thankfully due to the wifi being actually working as opposed to across the street at the Coffee Bean, but it was not without being surrounded by hostility. Cops were in and out of this location throughout the short bit of time I was there. Ultimately I'm pretty livid at the effort put in to make this space as offputting as it was. Outlets are an asset to an establishment like this. It's pretty clear they don't give a care about customers or their community where having the access to things like outlets would be massive. Don't waste your time or your money here. The coffee isn't even great compared to Coffee Bean across the street which, even with their terrible lack of outlet situation is far more worthy of your money & isn't a hotbed for folks who take a ton of money out of the city budget to stand around wasting time without even being intelligent enough to wear a mask properly after being informed for literally years as to how to do so. read more

Okay fine if you're having a bad day, week, month etc but he was doing it with everyone. So... I don't love Starbucks (sorry), but I do like this location. I travel out of Long Beach quite a bit, and this location is on the way to the Catalina Express. They are open early (5am on weekdays), and are always prompt with service. Everything I've always ordered has taken just a few minutes (no more than 3) to arrive, which is nice if you're in a hurry. You'd be surprised but at 5:45 AM, this place can get a bit busy (Harbor Patrol, Police - it's right across from a courthouse, earlybirds, etc.), but it's still pretty quick. The only thing that can be ever so slightly a downside is the parking. MOST OF THE TIME you can grab a spot right out front, but parking is very limited and not everyone abides by the time limits. That's happened to me on two occasions, and I've had to miss my morning tea because of that. (There really isn't a lot of street parking.) read more
