Great place to poop. Sturdy toilet, ample amount of TP, and clean facility. They also serve coffee!!!

The first time I was here, the baristas were so friendly and helpful that I went out of my way to come back here this morning for some green tea (I guess it's that time of year when people start getting sick). Again, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I felt valued, which is important as a Starbucks customer. This location also has some comfortable, simple seating and large windows for the sunlight to stream through. I'm glad this wonderful location is here! (On a side note, I tried the oatmeal for the first time today. It's kind of bland and tasteless. Don't bother getting Starbucks oatmeal. Blah.)

    Love the comfy leather chairs

Really friendly, helpful staff, comfy leather chairs and very clean. Enjoyed one of best cacao protein blend cold brews I've had yet at a Starbucks. Lots of convenient electrical outlets including plenty of wireless charging spots. Enjoyed a well-made chicken wrap protein box for lunch. Working online here for the day while my car is at the shop.

Venti pink drink "light ice". Ha

Unfortunately, the tiramisu was a bit of a miss for me. I love a good tiramisu, but I felt like it was missing that rich espresso flavor I was hoping for. That said, it definitely didn't deter me from coming back! I didn't get a chance to try the gelato this time, but there were several flavors I had my eye on. This particular location has nailed it for attracting customers because it's placed right near the store entrance/exit and in the produce section. Oh, I wish I lived in a life where I can eat this every day without any health consequences. They rotate their flavors frequently, but I'm sad to learn that the Ferrero Rocher and chocolate hazelnut flavors are no longer available. The Mariano's West Loop location has the most selections, but this location has a decent variety. I love the little things added to enhance the appearance of the gelatos, such as half a real coconut placed on the coconut gelato and a couple of Andes mint chocolate bars sprinkled on the mint chocolate gelato. The size of the scoops are decent. However, I noticed that the gelato here is softer than the West Loop one. My favorite Vero location is still the West Loop one, but this is my second favorite. ***NOTE: When you purchase 10 gelatos with your Mariano's card, you get one free (including the large size)!***

They also make shakes with their gelato, which I'm sure are awesome. What I really want to try is the spaghetti and meatballs, which is of course gelato put through an extruder to resemble spaghetti and meatballs. :9 I'm sure it visually beats a boring old sundae any day! Coffee drinks are decent; organic hot cocoa is nice. Prices are reasonable. Oh, and the breakfast panini are only $3 and are served all day. I tried the arugula one (sorry, can't remember what they call it on the menu) that also had tomato and fresh mozzarella on toasted ciabatta. It was nice. You can see my photo of it attached to the entry for this place on Yelp. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely decent, and good value for money.

Spacious and well lit and clean - but then I encounter bored untrained staff who apparently have no clue what they are offering - and worse - seem indifferent to their lack of knowledge of their menu offerings - it's not their fault they don't speak Arabic or Farsi - but the ignorance as to what is in the pastry showcase or details of their drink menu is just staggering: I ask whether any of their desserts contain nuts because my friend has a fatal allergy...answer: "not really sure but not to my knowledge" (I'm afraid that just isn't good enough for this doctor). I then ask innocently whether they have any decaffeinated tea - the chap behind the counter says with confidence "Black tea doesn't have any caffeine" I was surprised enough to question my own knowledge- and my companion, who is a medical nutritionist seemed stunned and gave up as well. She said "black tea contains about 50mg per cup - which is around half that of coffee", but he didn't take the bait and stated with that confidence that only pure ignorant bliss can impart : "No, black tea has no caffeine - it's tea...not coffee." (Suggestion to the owners here: you may want to educate your staff and quick) Then I ask patiently for the list of ingredients of the various pretty looking unlabeled and mysterious sweets selection behind the glass cabinet.... Again no understanding of what I'm asking about. "No we aren't told what's inside each and we get our pastries from small suppliers but I think there are no nuts - I don't see any nuts - and they don't tell us what's inside" ... meanwhile I see pistachios scattered all over at least two desserts in the case - and I'm only asking for a rudimentary description of ingredients- and about what's inside each item - surely not too much to ask or expect (am I being difficult here?) To the owners: this customer thought you made all your desserts in-house but your staff happily tell us customers the truth - but either way..... Surely you'd want to know what you are offering your customers ? - I mean, some of the pastries look pretty tasty, but without knowing what's inside.... I give up. Then there is the price : $16.00 for a coffee and a tea. Okay... I tell myself I am trying this place a second time and I've been told good things by friends since here last (cardamom and cinnamon spiced hot drinks! ) So when I am served my tea and coffee at the table, I ask innocently for a napkin, and the waiter (Mr "Caffeine-Free tea") nods towards the other side of the cafe and says "napkins are over there" and walks off. I guess he expects me to get up and walk over to get myself a napkin (which one would have expected he'd have brought in the first place with the drinks) - and so reluctantly I've decided this is just not the place for me to relax - And at this point I just give up ... and give in to a tasty coffee - it was pretty good - and decide sadly never to return - even if invited.
