When we arrived, they were just doing counter service and closing for the afternoon, but we were able to get a panini and we found local craft beer (which was pretty neat) and they let us eat on their patio. I had the Iberian sandwich which has Iberian prosciutto, flamengo cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickled red onion. It was the perfect sandwich to cure my hangry. When we went for lunch the day before we did not know that this café was also the breakfast part of our bed and breakfast. We stayed at a bed-and-breakfast the next street over and both mornings a continental breakfast at this café was included. This is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had as part of the bed-and-breakfast. We were each served a portion of fresh fruit (which changed by the day), a boiled egg, a couple slices of ham and cheese, a pastel de nata, a basket of crossiants and rolls to share, and whatever you would like to drink. I had fresh squeezed orange juice, and a latte both days. Thankfully, like most places in Portugal they offer dairy alternatives. I honestly still dream about this breakfast. The wait staff on all of our trips were so friendly and helpful. It is really a beautiful set up and they have many things that you can purchase as well. I personally purchased a bowl shaped like a strawberry that I now have in my kitchen. This is definitely a stop. You need to make while in Sintra!

Both sandwiches were XL & came with Mozzarella, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickled Red Onion & Olive Oil. Sandwiches were simply but very delicious. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Overall, a decent place for food. Price was fairly reasonable

When the walking tour cancelled, I was stuck. I landed at Legendary because they have wifi and coffee which gave me some time to plot out the city and work on my plan of attack for this morning. Clean, comfortable, great coffee and a huge ham toastie to satisfy me until the food tour. Nice spot with tables inside and out. They also have beer and wine. Great service. Me and my wife we both got a regular cafe Americano which was good, no ice coffee here just FYI. We also got their signature toast sandwiches. I got the full size chicken tomato and mayo toast. The full sandwich itself is big pretty much 4 slices of beard cut into 2 pieces each. There was barely any chicken in this sandwich all I tasted was mayo and literally just some pulled chicken pieces. I would not recommend this sandwich unless you like mayo with toasted bread. My wife got the prosciutto and cheese sandwich which was much better just a single slice of prosciutto and some cheese. The girl behind the counter was ok didn't seem like she wanted to be at work today but was ok overall I guess. For 2 people I paid about 12€ which included 2 full size toasts and 2 coffees, definitely not a bad deal if you ask me. Would I come back here again? Maybe just for coffee and something else to try but that's about it. They also have some seating outside and some tables inside.

Cascais is, unfortunately, quite far from the heart of Lisbon, but I was thankfully planning to make a trip out there as part of a tour group (shoutout to Buendia's Sintra / Cascais tours) so had the perfect opportunity to check out Sacolinha's giant pastry case. My mom and I decided to split an assortment, which included two mini bola de berlim, as well as two different types of castanhas de ovos. The bola were lovely; they were super soft and pillowy, and the fillings (one was egg custard, the other nutella, I think) were both great. They were a smidge too sweet and did slightly remind me of American donuts, but they were a bit softer and less overwhelmingly sweet than their US counterparts. My favorite, though, had to be the castanhas de ovos. I already love chestnuts, so having the world's best nut translated into a dessert was a dream come true. They were so delicious that my mom and I had to come back to buy a box of six to bring home with us. The store itself is a pretty simple, but large pastaleria. It tends to get pretty crowded, but there's, thankfully, ample indoor and outdoor seating. You order up at the counter, and then they'll log your order onto a standard card, which you can later take up to the register to cash out. It's a bit of an odd system, but honestly makes the ordering way more efficient, since you don't have to wait for everyone's credit cards to process or cash to get counted, and you can go up to the register to pay at your leisure.

Staff were generally friendly although the cashier muttered something in Portuguese at me when I paid with $50 bill for 2 pastries. That's the only bill I had left as this place is cash only. I tried a beef empanada and a ham and cheese pastry. Honestly I felt it was underwhelming and the ham and cheese one was not good at all. Perhaps I should have tried something sweet. In anycase location and ambience were nice and easy access given located right on the main road.
