They are always short staffed and short stocked! Long wait and none of the food items I want is available, this happens often. I've been here a couple of times because it's very close to my relative's house, and it's been a bad experience every single time. The parking lot is super small and there's always a ton of people, so never able to get a parking spot, even if you get one, it's really hard to get in and out because the driveway is super narrow, and Asian people in this area simply can't drive. Yes, all the asian driver stereotypes are absolutely true. The store is always dirty, the counters always full of trash and spill, the bathroom is never clean. I went to this location during my lunch. There was an older woman in front of me placing an order and having a conversation with the barista taking her order. Though I was in a bit of a hurry I was impressed by how patient and kind she was with the woman who was clearly enjoying the interaction. She could have brushed her aside to get to the next in line but she maintained a respectful demeanor and apologized to me for the wait. I come here often and I usually have no qualms. But the past week or two have been horrible. I'm not sure if it's a certain barista or if its not coming up correctly when I order over the app. But I always order with almond milk. Because I am lactose intolerant. And these last few times I have had a horrible reaction to the drinks I am given. I understand that these places can be busy and hectic especially with the shortages of product at the moment. Like I don't understand how, when they should've done my drinks beforehand and so there would still coconut milk for my 3 drinks that I ordered. This is the worst. Always a excuse when you ask about the drink when it comes out tasting inconsistent instead of trying to fix it. The drive through here is also very unpredictable during morning rush. It's the closest location to me and always has room for me to sit and study. They are nice but unfortunately the way drinks are made here doesn't compare to other Starbucks. When I get an iced green tea latte there is always a lot of unmixed bits of matcha at the bottom of the drink. It tastes like plain milk and then I end up swirling it around for minutes to mix it myself. Also, they run out of things fairly quickly. I gotta have a bagel with cream cheese and a knife.. but sometimes they run out of knives and cream cheese. It also takes a while for them to get things back in stock. Just a tip for people who are looking for a "quiet" place to do some work... it's not quiet. And you shouldn't expect it be quiet. The baristas are constantly speaking loud about orders because they got blenders on all the time since they have a drive thru. This doesn't bother me at all, but I was seated next to a customer once who was constantly giving me looks and eventually said "can you talk any louder?!!" while I was having a conversation with a friend. Three stars for quick not overly friendly service, minus 2 for inaccurate drink orders. We received a very HOT children's hot cocoa and then they skimped on my frap whipped cream. It was a little less than half. If I'm paying for an overpriced drink, it better taste amazing and look appealing and not like someone didn't care about making the best drink they could. This place has terrible customer service from the moment you walk in! I was the only one in line and there was one lady behind the counter sweeping and she just looked at me and kept sweeping. Same with the other four employees that were there. Or eyes meet and they kept minding their own business. No greeting or acknowledgement. So glad there's a starbucks WITH a drive thru next to our place!!! Haven't been inside yet, but the drive through is quick and efficient; even when there's quite a bit of people waiting in line. Parking lot is pretty convenient because you can access from either side of the corner and I haven't seen it be too packed on any one occasion so far. The breakfast items come super hot and I have to actually wait a while to eat them, so that would prob be the only con I can think of at the moment. read more

Great customer service each time I visit! Some times they are only 2 baristas working, which mean's they aren't as efficient as they should be, but their positive attitude makes up for the short wait. I came in one morning, and there were only 2 people ahead of me, it took 15 minutes total from start to finish. The dude was having a difficult time with my special order latte, but he eventually understood. I told him I wanted to redeem my free drink, and I assumed he heard me b/c he asked me to scan my phone, so I did, and he said you owe .5 cents (I should have caught on there, but between watching the time--since I was about to be late for work, & making sure he got my drink correct, I didn't catch it till later) I was already going to add additional funds to the card anyway, so I just told him to add $50.00--he needed to see my ID which I didn't have on me, BUT my debit card had my photo on there... he said he needed another form of ID since the amount was "Large" He made it seem as if he was doing me a favor by not checking my ID, and asked me to bring it next time... He asked if I wanted the receipt, I said yes. good thing! cause he ended up charging me for the drink!!! I'm not an avid coffee drinker which means i'm hardly here, so I called a few hours later and the man I spoke with was really friendly and told me to come back and he'll refund me. So I was able to come back the same day since I did have to go to VONS on the way, and he refunded me with no issues! and when asked, he even took his time to explain the Tumblr promotion they are having as well as the one they will have for January 2014, even when there was a customer waiting, he didn't rush me away, cause I did have questions, I eventually purchased the Tumblr, so he didn't waste his time explaining the details to me. It was $30+tax=$32 but for the month of JANUARY every time you bring in the Tumblr you get FREE coffee. My dad unlike me, is an avid coffee drinker and buys coffee only from Starbucks every single day! that's $2.95 each time, which means he will be saving nearly $60 in the month of January!! I come here almost every day for a morning wake up call or a between-school-and-work energizer. The employees are always very nice and patient with me. I absolutely love this Starbucks for its service... not so much the food or the beverages. Honestly, I purchase their beverages solely because it's the closest cafe near me. By the way, I've had my mobile order drinks stolen 3-5 times already. THIS IS NOT STARBUCK'S FAULT. Thank you Starbucks for opening this store! It's a relief they opened this store since the store on Grand and the one on Fairway are constantly busy. It's the best one out of the three since the tables are the furthest from the restroom. Nothing like the smell of the restroom to go with your Latte and coffee cake. The store has a great layout, with plenty of spaces and electrical outlets for hipsters to bring their 27" iMac's. Standard Starbucks experience is there with friendly and attentive baristas. I had the most horrible experience with customer service at this Stabucks in 20373 E. Valley Blvd Walnut, CA on the evening of September 21, 2023 at 7:30pm. I placed my order through the drive thru and I handed her $100 and she couldn't take it so, I was able to round the total and I asked the woman if she could scan the barcode to get the stars rewards she said she couldn't because I had handed her the cash already. She hands me over hot breakfast sandwiches, and I ask for a bag & she seemed upset at my request and throws them in the bag and hands me the bag, making a face just being rude. Then she hands me over 4 drinks with no cup holder. I asked if I could get a cup holder, and she said in a rude tone of voice, "I'm going to get my manager," and abruptly walked away. She was bothered because I requested a bag and a cup holder and inconvenienced her. Her manager comes to the window and begins to defend her by making an excuse that's she's pregnant which doesn't excuse her for being rude. So he's coping out an attitude as well, saying these are company policies to NOT give the paying customer necessary items to carry out items purchased at this business. All items are upon request, which is ridiculous. I said to him she could've explained that to me instead of giving me an attitude. He was upset and couldn't hand me the 4 drinks in a cup holder he said to me "my manager is going to give you your drinks" and walked away and a 3rd person came to the window to hand me my drinks. This place is a joke! Please beware of this place they hire any Tom, Dick and Harry rude and lazy workers and so-called managers with zero knowledge of how to treat customers. These workers do not know the meaning of customer service. Please train these people first before you have them running your multi-million dollar business! I will never spend my money at this store.
