I am not saying we got a great deal i am just making it known how their pricing works. our leather is wonderful and nothing in the states can compare to their uniqueness. if going to istanbul i would recommend the visit. they also own 5 other stores, one of the other stores is called gian mori.

It's one of the more....er...uppity? malls in the Uskudar/Kadikoy area, but it has an HD Iskender and a Flo, so that is a major plus. Amazing fountain. One drawback is that there's no large electronics store (just a baby Teknosa). But they do have a Biletix, which is mad convenient. If I'm being forced to shop, I would definitely choose Capitol. At least I don't have to fight off over-attentive sales associates and there's no one assuming I'm a tourist. I think those are its best assets. It's also wonderfully decorative during any season. When you walk in, you feel reeeeeallllly luxurious (for Uskudar). If you're in the area, not a bad bet. Parking is a bit expensive, so avoid it if possible.

This mall is the largest one in Istanbul. I was told that there are at least 300 stores. Each floor can take you a while to figure out what stores are there and which ones you want to frequent. I was happy at Marks and Spencer. I bought a lilac-coloured sweater, a pair of gloves that are touch-friendly when you want to use your phone, and a pair of penguin socks. This store had a decent selection of women's items. My boyfriend did not find anything that he liked there, though. I liked the LEB chickpea stack stand. I brought a box home to share with colleagues at work. Istanbul is a city that wants to be a part of the western world. There was Zara and Victoria's Secret. I avoided these stores and wanted to visit stores that aren't in Canada. The food court is amazing. It's essentially two floors of eateries. At one stage, I was standing in the middle of two food places, with each person trying to get me to eat there. Wow! I had Turkish-style pizza for lunch. It was so delicious! There is so much variety that you are bound to find something yummy that you want to eat. I spent several hours in this mall. It's pretty good if you like department stores. However, there weren't a ton of deals happening, other than the sweater that I got at Marks and Spencer. I noticed both Arabic and Turkish signs. Too bad I didn't know what they meant! I bought the most magnificent winter coat at Mango here and it was only like 80tl instead of the usual 200-300tl you might pay for such a coat. It was glorious! I also like the food court in Optimum, it's airy, with huge ceilings and lots of space. Well designed, its impossible to get lost in this mall. It also has an indoor skating rink which is cute and lots of play areas for kids. Information people are friendly, and the entry way has a big old Starbucks right in front. There are lockers in Optimum as well, which we have used on occasion. I also really like the Koctas in Optimum, but the Migros, by comparison, thoroughly sucks. Oh well, all in all one of my go-to malls in Istanbul.

Even with all the people that leave or work in this area, the mall isn't really ever very full. Which isn't a bad thing! Shops which you have then normal stores like Swatch, Zara, Bershka, and Vakko Butik. Which will have pretty good sales and clothes that are of the current and past seasons. One of the main reasons I come into this mall is because of the Krispy Kreme on the bottom floor of the mall and the reason it is right next door to the Titanic Hotel and Ramada. This is a good mall to come and kill time, while actually picking up some good items at the same time. Enjoy your time here, than grab a Krispy Kreme donut before leaving :) .
