Our order was delayed and when arrived, heavily damaged and with bug activity. We received a communication that product would be delayed, however it didn't arrive by the noted date. We reached out a few days after the new date, and it was several days before we received a response. We did hear back - the day the trees arrived - about a week after the revised date. We ordered two apple trees, but arrived heavily damaged with most branches broken, and one had bug activity (chewed leaves). Neither tree looks to be in great shape. I've reached out, and we'll see how they respond. If we receive good support, I'll come back and change this review. read more

A tree was shipped months after being ordered. The tree arrived in very poor condition and did not survive the winter. The tree was replaced under warranty, but the same thing happened again and Stark Brothers refuses to do anything. It was an expensive waste of time and money. read more

My first time buying from this company. I ordered the Bushel and Berry Raspberry Shortcake variety of Raspberry for my container garden while they were having a sale for free shipping. I was thinking it would be a bit bigger than expected, but honestly that's not the problem. The box arrived badly damaged, and for some reason they triple boxed it and placed the plant inside the second box on the inside. Both the outside box and inside box were badly damaged, the tiny box that held the raspberry plant was badly damaged. The plant is damaged and had yellowing/black leaves that were dead. I cut off some of the dead/dying leaves, and left the plant inside and contacted the company immediately. I do hope that the plant continues to thrive as I will be trying to save it. They also wrapped the plant pot in plastic to keep it from spilling, which was nice. read more

So far it's a bad experience. The order is late and perhaps there is some reason for shipping late related to the plants but the communication is terrible! They have sent me emails every day for weeks and they're contradictory, listing the order as having 2 items instead of the 3 I've paid for, the next day listing 2 items but not the same as I've paid for. They were the best at one time, but I have stopped using them for purchases of fruit trees. My orders started getting postponed and finally received my last order months after I was initially told it would arrive. When it arrived it was clearly diseased. I requested a replacement. After 2 months waiting it shipped. I still have not received it. They used the US postal system to ship it which they had never done in the past. Everyone knows what to expect form the USPS. Those having trouble with getting your plants delivers. They kept pushing out the date and finally after two months, I called and talked with a live person. I had ordered 8 plants and 2 were holding up the mentors order. So I had the service rep split out those two items into a new order they honored free shipping and actually the current lower prices). After a few days the 6 plants that were available are now being shipped. The other order is still on hold but at least some are in process. I've ordered fruit trees from Stark several times and the trees have always been very healthy nice looking trees. The shipping issue is just odd. You would think that they could figure out a better approach. I think that the trees will eventually be shipped but they have a weird process that won't allow them to ship just a portion of the order. You would think after changing the delivery date 6x that they would have a process to ship what's ready ... I am sad to advise to not order from this company. I have ordered from Stark Bros for years without issue, all plants healthy, decent value for grafted small trees and variety, sending replacements when they are dead or not labeled, wonderful and quick customer service. Until the last 6 months. I have had months long order delays with no warning, no communication or responsiveness to email and phone on two orders now. Finally, today after over a month of trying to contact them I finally got them cancelled and refunded. Hopefully this changes in the future. I ordered trees back on March 10th and I was pleasantly surprised by the options available. I selected four trees which seemed perfect and was told to expect them by March 23rd. A few days later, I was informed that the delivery was pushed back to March 30th. The next day, it was pushed to the next week. Then again, it was pushed back a week the following day. That's when they stopped even telling me the delivery dates were being pushed back. By the end of April, I sent them a message asking about the order and was told the weather had been "temperamental." I asked them to wait until my wife and I returned from out of the country if they were not going to deliver by May 3rd, and of course, it was not delivered by that time, either. We've returned now, and my delivery date was revised to the week of June 1st, which is too late in the season to plant bareroot trees in my area if you expect them to survive. I checked the individual product pages for the three trees with a delivery date (one simply said "delivery estimate unavailable"), and their individual pages are *still quoting* that delivery will occur within the same week while mine aren't scheduled to arrive for at least another two. I ended up cancelling my order altogether, and we'll see if I get my refund. So now I've lost all this time for my trees with little communication from the company, and I have to try to get trees last minute or wait another year. If you want to buy trees, you're better off buying some unhealthy trees from Walmart because at least you'll receive them. Also, it's interesting that I'm unable to leave a Google review of the business with my Local Guide account, yet they have a 4.6 star rating on Google compared to their ~1.7 at the time of writing this on Yelp. read more
