My case crossed into another jurisdiction, so I was involved with other attorneys and judges. I have also worked with other attorneys on this same matter in the past -- but without complete resolution -- so I was able to compare her work with plenty of other good attorneys, and I can say she is phenomenal. Yes, her rates are higher, but her work is worth it. I would recommend only going to her if your case is just, though: Her ability to be remarkably candid where others waver brings out hidden truth. She will tell you boldly if you need to get your situation in order, too. Her ability to quickly navigate the conversation to the essential information, but also to help clients who are going through difficult emotional situations, left me with a feeling that I was in very competent hands throughout. When I was looking at several attorneys early in the case, knowing that I needed the best, I asked someone who works with attorneys all the time what he thought of her, since he was recommending another. Mary Thompson prepares our taxes each year and although she sees us once a year, she remembers our names, faces, and details from previous conversations! It's kind of amazing!! She prepares our taxes efficiently and each year we are in and out within 20 minutes. The service is exceptional. From a competency prospective, I could not be more pleased. During our first interaction, she helped us revise our taxes and reduced our amount owed by more than $1,000. Our questions are always answered and advice is always available. I'm shocked at the lack of professionalism or interest in following through with the basic things. Three weeks after I signed a contract and paid the retainer, literally nothing had been done, not even a list of steps. When I asked for a meeting, an hour before the meeting, a list of steps appeared that did not go along with the details of my case. When I met with my lawyer, she wanted to defend herself instead of figuring out how to move forward. She seemed annoyed that I bringing it up, even though this is a domestic violence case that will escalate as soon as something is filed. I would not recommend this place.
