He has lived in Hope Valley for almost 40 years. Last summer after spending time at his summer cabin in Maine he returned to a notification. That his term life insurance had lapsed and because it lapsed he was not eligible for a renewal. He's 70 with diabetes. Pissed off that there were no missed calls from his agent reminding him of this approaching deadline--I let it slide. A few weeks ago after returning home from quarantining with his girlfriend and her elderly father he received a notice that he was going to be losing his homeowners insurance due to work that needed to be done. The insurance broker was notified a month prior to my father having any idea and yet no one called to follow up with him. Clearly he would not let something like this go if he was aware. I cannot believe that an insurance company can even take insurance away during a pandemic. But during these times we need to be taken care of better by the people we chose to give your business to. Sadly my father always thought they were putting his interest first. We now are selling my childhood home in the middle of this pandemic and he is struggling to have his broker return his calls in a timely manner. Do yourself a favor and make these businesses work for your business not just to settle for the closest place that's been around for a while.
