I loved this little theatre. The facility and the play alone I would give 5 stars. The kicker for me is absolutely NO Covid concern. No spacing in seats, maybe 10 people at most had masks on. Very disappointing. My other star dock is their 50/50 raffle. It was strange. So on Trip Advisor one of the reviews said it seemed rigged and he was calling BS on it. That perhaps played into my feelings as per I realized it happened before. First they changed the price of tickets 3x. And then when they drew the number the lady was talking to her friend next to her and they interrupted her and she called her aunt. So, the trip advisor review says an uncle won and I went and an aunt won. That's weird. The theatre however was INCREDIBLE! We saw Hello Dolly!

This is a really cool small outdoor performing arts theater, with talented perormers. I enjoyed the fun and entertaining show. There was even some crowd participation during the intermission. Before the show and during intermission the performers themselves sell soft drinks, popcorn, hotdogs, ice cream, ect. When the show is over they come out to mingle with the crowd. This is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Additionally if that's not enough, they have a limited number of RV sites with electrical hook ups available. (20, 30, and 50 amps)

I loved everything about this theatre! The atmosphere was great. The actors seemed passionate and did such a good job with their roles. It was also great to be free from the masks and to be with people who love this country just as much as I do.

The box office... Grab your tickets here then head down the gravel path to the outdoor theater. BRING BUG SPRAY!

Starlight Mountain Theater is, to me, the quintessential Idaho experience if you are a tourist and a family tradition if you are a resident. I went up for the first time a couple weeks ago on a double date, which made the drive up seem short because it was filled with laughter and conversation. It's a pretty drive but also a fairly quick one anyway. You pick up tickets at the box office at the front of the property then drive down a gravel road to a grassy parking area. It was 20 yards, give or take, from our parking spot to the entrance of the theater. I noticed that some people walked over from the campground not much further than that. What I loved about the performance is that it started way before the actual show. These kids are the hardest working actors in show business. You can arrange to have dinner from Sizzler with the cast before the show, and they'll serve you. After that, they wander around talking to audience members (one guy even memorized the names of several audience members in the front row and introduced them to each other at intermission), selling concessions, and passing the time before the show starts. We saw "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." Was it at the level of a Broadway performance? No, but there was some great raw talent there. And what it lacks in talent it makes up for in personality. Before the show the whole cast and audience sing the Star Spangled Banner, and then there's usually some sort of performance (this time it was from one of the younger cast members). At intermission the cast members each walk around with popcorn, hot dogs, candy, soda, and water. There are always a couple of actors who will give out free kisses if you buy a licorice rope from them. What was cool about them selling concessions was that it was worked into the show. I believe one of the characters said, "Well, what am I going to do with all of these hot dogs I made?" before the end of the act. At the end of the show the actors sing a final song to "sing out" the audience and wish them safe travels home. Then they all gather in the parking lot so the audience can meet them, ask for autographs, or take pictures with them. Add to all that the fact that many of the actors are in multiple shows (they perform several shows throughout the summer simultaneously), and you can see why I think they are some of the hardest working actors I've ever seen. And I've written touring children's plays! One thing to note is that there is a concessions stand if you don't want to wait for intermission. Also, I know they were working on permanent restrooms - but for now all they have is Port-A-Potties and I just can't, so we stopped at the grocery store in town after the long drive to stretch out and use the facilities. You can do this before the show but I don't think you can do it afterwards (I believe the store is closed by the time the show gets out). The only other improvement I would recommend is some sort of bug control up there. I spent a lot of the show distracted by watching mosquitoes land on (and bite) the people in front of me and wondering if there were any on me. (I got away with just one bite, but if you attract them, you've GOT to bring a strong mosquito repellant.) Despite the bug and bathroom situation, I highly recommend Starlight Mountain Theater and I'm excited for the next show we'll see there!

We love Starlight Mountain Theatre. We go every time we go to Garden Valley. Great acting, especially by the two main actors of the theatre.

We showed up around 8 . 2 hours before close but towards the end of their dinner rush. I was seated…read moreby a guy in a hat who apparently was our waiter but never came out again after he took our drinks and food. I got a beer before the wife and kids got sodas 20 min later. Food took roughly an hour with no one checking on us in between. Apparently we must have been his only table because the other waitress took the rest of the tables and ignored us. It's been an 90 min we finally finished our food and drinks have never been refilled or even checked on. I feel like we are were an after thought Um usually a great tipper but the excuse of having a big table inside dosnet mean you can forget everything else. We had more people show up at the end to clean our table then we saw the almost 2 hours we were here. So in the end food was ok, portions were small. If you have older kids don't get the kids meal it's tiny. Service was next to the worst I've had. So if you need to eat and your not really hungry give it a try . Or look for other options
