Service was good and welcoming. My order was ready upon arrival. I ordered the garden omelette and an iced mocha, and both were absolutely delicious. The omelette was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and the iced mocha was just as good smooth and refreshing. Definitely coming back next time to sit and enjoy the full experience. read more

Very disappointed with our experience. We were a group of 8, but we were actually two separate families of 4 and requested split checks. The restaurant increased the automatic gratuity from 18% to 20% on each split bill, then still asked for an additional tip on top of the already-included gratuity. That felt misleading and excessive. To make matters worse, I have a severe egg allergy. I specifically asked the manager if the eggs could be removed from my meal, and they agreed. Yet I was still charged for the eggs that I couldn't eat because of my allergy. Between the unexpected gratuity increase, being asked to tip again, and being charged for food I couldn't have due to a documented allergy, this experience left a very bad impression. We went for brunch. Everything was delicious, and I loved the orchid touch on my chai latte and my omelet and my husband's egg plate. It was a lot of food, I had an omelet with gluten free pancakes, which were fluffy and so tasty. It was a lot of food, I ended up taking 1/2 of mine home. We were initially going to McKinney location on Easter Sunday but timing did not work out - wanted to try this Cafe as we had never been before. Headed to this location and got a odd vibe from staff on entering - ordered coffee - I chose the lavender - very pretty $5.50 and when empty - ask for a refill of regular coffee and thankfully asked - would I be charged and stated yes, another charge would occur - so I cancelled additional refill. Three dishes tried - corn beef hash was decent - good flavor nice size dish; chicken fried streak benedict was cooked well and good portion - requested cheese grits as the size - cheese put on top (rather than cooked into grits) - and a pecan waffle - also pecans on top not cooked into waffle - our first choice is cooked in but most do not do that now. Wait staff was ok but again, just uncomfortable overall - small inside and did note signage NEW OWNERSHIP - so maybe they were all new?? My daughter and her friend went this early afternoon to get brunch and they were sat but weren't served. The waiters kept walking away ignoring them and continued to serve other guests but not them. Stopped in for breakfast today early. I say early because there was just a handful of people so the Sunday excuse of being busy doesn't apply hear. I went with the Migas and the first time out they forgot my sausage and cilantro. They decided to redo the order. The next delivery has super stale tortilla stops that it gave the eggs and weird consistency because of the rubbery chips. Two bad presentations and I was out. Oh Starwood. It kills me to give a 1star for a reason like this but in all honesty this is one of the 1 stars that is well deserved. When it comes to eating out during a pandemic your number one priority should be the safety of everyone in your establishment. Because we were at the very last table in the back I had a view of the entire dining room. I was shocked. There were so many open tables to follow the 6ft social distancing yet they were placing people in booths one right after another. Maybe 3 feet distance head to head. I took the picture that was just to the right of us when instead I should have looked slightly left. In the corner against the window they have one of those big 1/2 round booths. It was completely full. Then there were booths on each side. All booths had people in them. I just can't understand why they had so many open tables with plenty of room for the social distancing but not doing it. As for the picture it was the only one I could get without an employee seeing me. I took the photo to show how close the customers are. It is very clear that this Starwood is not taking any steps to protect anyone from Covid-19. I don't understand why they would not take such any easy precaution. I am literally dumbfounded. I am ashamed to say this but their lack of safety kept us safe as we were the only ones in the back against the wall. I am sorry Starwood but your lack of safety and choosing not to follow the social distancing mandate tells me you do not take this pandemic seriously and because of that your customers are put at an unnecessary risk. It pains me to say we will not be visiting your establishment again. I mean what I say. Your food is fantastic and every employee we've run across was a pleasure to talk to. I have two daughters and they couldn't be more different. Years ago, when I was just starting out as a single mom, I made a promise that I'd figure out a way to connect with each of them. Believe it or not, that's a super hard thing for a busy working or even non-working parent to do. Most of us raise our kids as a collective unit; when one goes to the dentist, so does the other. As they got older they became even more different and I, more busy. So I created "Mom Dates". On a Mom Date I choose one kid and my attention is on them. That means no phone, no distraction, nothing. They pick the restaurant and activity. I have a date with each kid once a month. This particular Saturday my oldest had wanted to have her date be breakfast and then wanted to go to the gym with me. Don't worry...I only work out because those machines have Netflix on them. Got to catch up on my shows! So anyway...She chose Starwood. Now, I've been to other locations and I'm really not a fan, but what baby wants, baby only gets if I don't give a crap, which I didn't. The Custer location is fairly new and right next to Barnlight. We were created immediately and sat in a booth. I ordered coffee and the Western Skillet mostly because it had ham. Kid got an omelet with mushrooms. The food came quickly and correctly. My only complaint in the whole thing was that my skillet sucked. I honestly wish they'd serve it in a skillet so it would be hot, as it was cold. The onions weren't cut with care - there were HUGE chunks of it, so I kept having to cut them. That was honestly not even a big deal. The hash browns weren't cooked through though. The top was fine; the bottom...not so much. Had I not been on a date, I'd probably have sent it back, but my daughter is very well mannered (humble brag on me lol) and she refuses to eat if you don't have food, so I didn't want her awesome omelet to get cold. Plus, the eggs were perfect on it and the top was great. Service was excellent. Even though I didn't care for my food, the coffee, service and my date made it a five star meal. One thing that I got to say is that they are similar, but not the same and have a twist of their own flavors. We got situated immediately by a friendly and always smiling waitress. Our orders were taken immediately and the food took less than 10minutes to arrive. The avocado toast is my favorite and was well made. The Tuscan panini was tasty as well. This place was the best!!! Our waiter was super sweet and nice. The menu is reasonably priced and they have pretty large portions. For about $12, I got 3 specialty pancakes (you can switch out regular pancakes for specialty pancakes for $1.50 extra) and a decently sized skillet breakfast. If I wasn't so hungry, this would've been sufficient enough for at least two meals. The blueberry pancakes had lots of blueberries mixed into the batter as well as some on the side. It was fluffy and delicious! I got the Frisco skillet and it was a good combination of peppers, mushrooms, hash browns, eggs, and sausage! Update: Figured I give them twoish month to get their stuff together. And I have to say I'm overall disappointed. Various times we have made orders and wrong items came out. For example, one day I ordered bacon burrito I got a sausage that sort of mistakes. Pancakes are a hit or miss either they are dry or like todays visit raw. The more I look at it their prices are also really high for quality of the items. OJ is ~$4 dollars but half the time it's a quarter under served. Burrito is $8.50 but mediocre in size. Country Breakfast ~$9 for two eggs, hash browns and 1! Burnt biscuit. Also they let their staff eat in the line station. Which I'm not too sure how sanitary that is nor is it appealing. One of the servers was eating her big breakfast sandwich right where the food was coming out of the kitchen. I am giving them a pass on some items because they mentioned they had just opened Thursday February 1. I went in yesterday the 4th. The decor is cute and brand spanking new. It is a bit smaller so I can see crowds forming if this restaurant picks up traction. They also have an orange juice machine which alone earned them one star. Service was spot on there was no hint that they had just open in that regard. Food: - chorizo skillet was missing salt. It also just needed to be mixed in chorizo with hashbrowns and the peppers. It seemed like everything was cooked separately then put on the plate at the end.
