I am leaving a review for the State Disability Office... not the phone number. Calling them on the phone is nearly impossible to get anything done so I decided to come in the office to try my luck. Yes the wait was long... I got here 45 minutes before opening, yes I had to wait an hour and a half to get seen, but in my experience, I have to give five stars.. even though the wait was long, the security guards and staff and people behind the window were professional efficient, extremely helpful and very friendly. read more

It's infuriating enough that they tell you need these requirements forms they want you to fill out, you got 20 days to respond and then they don't even have that form available for you to respond???? On top of that they don't answer the phone, it's just their useless automated response system that doesn't allow you to talk to a person who can help. I can never get any help from this office!! I have called at least 45 times with no one to help me! The phone # of (800) 480-3287 is a joke!! Their AI robot always hangs up on me while trying to speak with a live personnel. I have tried multiple times to apply online but it doesn't work! I need to apply for SDI it is urgent!! I need to make a formal complaint but with whom? In the mean time I am losing money now for 8 business days. Please help me! You can improve by having a live person to help me to apply in person or step by step online! Phones are automated prompts. Says all customer service reps are busy and hangs up. Finally got someone but they couldn't help and I needed to go in person. Tiny parking lot. Street parking is 2 hr max. One long line outside. Security lets people in a few at a time. Once you get inside, the staff were nice and patient. It's a government office so expect to wait. I was in the SDI office last Friday checking on my Dr certification for extended temporary disability. Since it was dropped into the 3rd street office drop box over two weeks ago. The clerk stated my claim was received and noted that it was received and processed in the computer but then there was another note stated it was sent to Sacramento for processing. The clerk was clearly upset at this mix up and delay. She said she needed to go back and talk directly to the clerk who mailed it to Sacramento to clarify why it was not processed as they indicated in the computer notes. I had a photo copy available from my Md I provided and it was well received by clerk . She indicated it may take 24-48 hours to post my payment to the account. She did also indicate that the SDI scanning center in Sacramento was approximately one month behind in processing documentation into the computer and uploading. Sad but true and now it all makes complete sense why they make it difficult to even get approval or your first payment issued! read more

I have tried for several days and still not successful reaching out to a representative at this number its (800) 480 - 3287 its very sad no one answers this line. I have tried from sun up to sunset repeatedly trying to call and ask a question and all you get is "Im sorry we have reached our maximum capacity on calls call back" it very very sad and unprofessional. I am very disappointed for the State of California in this matter. Please do better at the services you provide to people who need your help. read more
