Absolutely love them! Great BBQ, amazing drinks, and the folks who work here are insanely nice.

We were visiting the area and were so excited for the weekend to arrive so we could try this place out. The place is literally a little garage, so no curb appeal whatsoever but when you get out of the car you are just smacked right in the face with the most amazing aroma you've ever experienced in your life. It appears to be run by a young couple and everything looks absolutely divine. We wanted to buy every single thing, no exaggeration. The woman was very kind and you can tell this is a local favorite and they are kept very busy! We settled on croissants, cinnamon croissants and the bread pudding. I can confidently say (and our entire group agreed) that these were truly the best pastries we've all ever had. Our only disappointment is that we are leaving town tomorrow and we don't have enough room in our bellies to eat more of what they have to offer. Spoiler alert, I'm going to make a valiant effort to go back today to grab some bbq for lunch because if their pastries are this good I can only imagine what that bbq is like.

Such a great find! The breakfast biscuits were sold out with the people before us. So we ordered lunch--a brisket sandwich with coke slaw on homemade bread. It was so tender and juicy. The sandwich was big enough to share. Our friends ordered by the pound which was a great idea to sample the different meats. The bakery had so many delicious choices. We narrowed it down to the rum raisin pastry, a toffee brownie and two cookies: peanut butter and chocolate chip. For drinks we had a Pellegrino sparkling water. Only a few chairs for outside seating. We brought our own just in case they were all taken. Call ahead ordering is available so you don't have to wait in line. Parking is limited.

I found this place while creating an itinerary for a family trip to Seneca Lake. State Bakery & BBQ did not disappoint! Due to our schedule, we visited for breakfast. They have a few breakfast sandwich options (chicken and brisket) and lots of pastries to choose from. All the treats were delicious. There are a few picnic tables aside this garage. I do wish the grass was cut and that seating area was a bit cleaner and more customer friendly. My only complaint is the woman at the counter accepting payment was abrasive. It seemed like she didn't like non-locals supporting a local business. That's the impression my family got. Hopefully that won't be anyone else's experience.

Great pastries and the meal options are very popular. Recommended but parking can be a challenge.

This place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". It is basically in someone's garage but the food was SO good, especially the cinnamon croissant. I wish we bought a few extra pastries for later on, but we will definitely be back next time we're in the area. Also dying to try the bbq for lunch!

Wow this place is good! Not much to look at (it's basically located in somebody's garage), but boy is the food good. I got a delicious pulled pork sandwich and a couple of cruffins. What's a cruffin you ask? A muffin made with croissant dough. Mine had coconut on top with a cream filling. Soooo good! A little on the pricy side but the food is top notch. My only quibble (and it's a small one) is I wish they had different sizes for the sandwiches. Mine was awesome, but it was also soooo big. I didn't really need to eat a sandwich that big at 11:30 in the morning.

I loved it! It's a raw bakery off the side of the road. I came here based on the photos here on Yelp. They had yummy fresh treats and the food was great! Definitely going to make it back when I'm in the area. They seemed to take many pick up phon orders. Very convenient for times we are in. Loved it! The only thing was the biscuits would be better I'd they were warm on the sandwiches. Sticky bun was so good!!

Me and my partner were staying in the Finger Lakes area for a few days, and we ate here TWICE! We got the egg & cheese biscuits, one with bacon and one with sausage. The sausage is really delicious. We had a long drive back so I also got the smoked chicken sandwich with roasted peppers, eggplant, and greens on house made sourdough, and wow - this sandwich is the bomb. We got home hours later, I still had the second half of the sandwich so I ate it with some mayo added. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD. I guess if I have any suggestions it would be serving that sandwich with mayo on the bread because it really made it come together. I wanted to buy a loaf of the sourdough and am still regretting not doing so. I really loved stumbling on this spot, a great hidden gem with delicious, fresh baked bread, pastries & BBQ.

Bbq box with brisket pulled pork Mac and cheese beans cornbread. All delicious

Excellent brisket pulled pork Mac and cheese baked beans. And the house made pastries...the lemon tart and almond cookies and peanut butter cookies were amazing! Come early before they sell out!

Just driving by- my hubby saw the sign with the word "smokehouse" and slammed on the brakes! Best little find of the trip! What a great place! It's a "grab and go" with no seating but the best pulled pork we've ever had. The giant roll was tasty and not "too much!" Adding the coleslaw to the sandwich made it perfect!

I'm a huge fan of bbq and breakfast sandwiches so I was excited to see a place that offered both. The brisket breakfast sandwich was disappointing. The brisket was dry and hard. It would crack whenever I bit it. The biscuit was also dry. I tried the sausage breakfast sandwich as well and had the same issue with the biscuit but unfortunately the sausage patty was flavorless. This meal left a lot to be desired.

This time (Jul 2026) was like our visit a couple of years ago. The menu was rather short, and we didnt see many middle-of-the-road or ordinary comfort-food offerings. Their local sourdough bread appetizer was fresh and nicely flavored, and we chose the fresh olive oil side just because it's so luscious. We could have had chive-butter. The marinated olives were flavorful and a little spicy. Their NY-cheese board had a tasty selection of soft and hard cheeses. The salads had choices of a chutney-paneer based mix, which was refreshingly creative. And we liked the Farmstand berry-cherry goat-cheese almond salad. These were all appealing. Chickpea salad or stew, tofu or salmon over steamed veggies, or smoked-trout open-face tartine sandwich, each sounded good, but we didnt bite. None of the mains called to us. I guess we just felt that none of those menu items screamed out we-gotta-come-to-this-restaurant. The food tasted like just homemade and fresh, but not exceptional. The food was ok, no complaints, but not a big thrill.

I ordered the tofu green curry and the man ordered the Moosewood burger. Neither dish was hot upon arrival at the table - more like lukewarm. The man says the burger wasn't particularly flavorful, although the roasted potatoes it came with were very good. The curry was flavorful and spicy, although the curry sauce was on the thin side. We didn't order appetizers (other than the olives) or dessert, so I can't comment on either. The service was friendly and efficient. When I mentioned that the food hadn't been served hot, the server removed two of our drinks from the bill as compensation, which was appreciated. I would give it another try before leaving Ithaca, but my expectations will be tempered on a second trip.

Our guide Seth showcased Ithaca's diverse food scene (a lot of which was locally sourced fare, which was super impressive) while tying in interesting historical facts about the city of Ithaca--which was totally unexpected but definitely well received among the group as well as very much appreciated. A decent bit of walking, which was fine, but it's good to point out for our less mobile friends looking to partake. At every stop we had small drink and food portions, which after the 2-3 hours I was relatively full, which is always nice after completing a food tour. We started off at Moosewood Restaurant and worked our way through the Ithaca Commons to 6 total different spots, stopping along the way to point out fun facts about certain areas, murals, general historical tidbits as well as highlighting local business practices that may not be commonplace elsewhere (did you know that Ithaca commonly uses a "Collective" business model versus the generally practiced "Cooperative" business model, where individuals in charge share equal responsibilities/shares and others are welcome to work their way up through work efforts and such). I'm sure the general order/selection of restaurants rotates given time of year and availability so I won't go into much detail about where we went here, but all of the choices were awesome and accompanied by narration from either Seth or the owner of the restaurant about the food we were enjoying as well as a small history of the establishment. Overall a wonderfully thorough tour that left me wanting to know more about the city of Ithaca and it's quite interesting history. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Finger Lakes Region!

We decided on Bickering Twins, because can you go wrong with Mexican food and a margarita? Luckily we had no wait on a Friday evening at about 7pm. I was worried that since not many people were there it was a bad sign, but that was not the case. We were seated at a nice, sort of private high-top table near the door, which made it feel like we had privacy and our own little space. We ordered drinks, and I wimped out and went with a paloma instead of the tamarind maragarita. The paloma was great, but I'm still wondering whether I shouldn't have risked it. Our group of three decided to get chips & salsa (because why wouldn't you), and then we ordered three dishes to share. Our choices were as follows: Peruvian Ceviche, Birria Quesadilla and Chicken Enchiladas. First of all, the fact that they had ceviche and it was good just hands down made my day. It was good - I only wish there had been some corn kernels served with it. The birria quesadillas weren't what we had expected, but they were very flavorful and the juice was tasty. I Really enjoyed the enchiladas for the mix of flavors and textures. There were so many vegetables with our dishes and the sides of rice and beans were more than filling. My only complaint is that the rice was too much of a yellow rice - I prefer a white rice, but that's just personal preference. Even though we kept the menu at the table anticipating that we would want to order more, we ultimately were stuffed and the portions (while they looked small were actually quite filling!). Jose our server was kind and friendly. I would definitely come back as there are a variety of other meals I would try, and they have flights of Mezcal and Tequila that looked tempting. After a long hard day of hiking, this fabulous meal made the day. We returned to our hotel with sore legs, but our bellies full!

The french toast was raw, cut so thick it wasn't surprising that the inside of each slice was soggy with uncooked egg. The rosemary potatoes were... fine; obviously pre-cooked and just reheated because they were not remotely crispy or particularly fresh tasting. The real gripe was with the kimchi omelette. It was fine going down, not overly flavorful despite having a very flavorful ingredient. However, it was not fine on the way up. And trust, it came back up. Spent the rest of the day sick and throwing up. The only highlight was the coffee; the brown sugar and spice latte was great, would return for that and only that.
