There are several different parks for different sports. There were other tournaments going on at the same time. This place was nice! Parking was decent considering competitions going on back to back all day. I left and came back to get food and was able to get a closer parking spot. Check in was great, with the members of Karate Atlanta. Everyone was nice while under pressure to accommodate the number of people in the building. Bleachers wasn't too bad I had no issues. Concession stand was expensive but decent if your hungry. I had no complaints. I'm sure we will be back!

No real parking lot yet so we parked in a big field covered in gravel, for a minimal fee. I assume paved parking is still in the works. There was a small lot in front, but it wasn't for us regular folks. Everything is still nice and brand new. Huge bathrooms. Since it's a boy's tournament, the ladies room stayed clean and mostly empty. The usual concession stands, but with airport prices. There is a lot of development going up around it, but Chick-fil-a and Wendy's are already open right across the street. I was surprised by what a picturesque setting it is. It looks like they made an effort to keep as many of the giant trees as undisturbed as possible. Really beautiful.

We also love the clubhouse. They have activities every month with all ages in mind. Most weekends they have Kids Club for a reasonable fee. We have attended many of the special events too. The pool in the summer is great! We love to come out at least Sundays to eat at the pool grill & swim. My 5 year old loves the diving board. All in all CCC is a great value & family oriented.

1890's DAYS JAMBOREE, (Ringgold, GA)…read more I am a self-confessed "festival freak" and I always like to attend the small town ones during the holidays and on weekends. When it comes to small towns, the activities are always family friendly and I have never encountered public drunkenness, coarse/foul language, unreasonable lines, lewd behavior or a shortage of food. For the well planned festival, I always have a very good time and we always encounter the nicest people who are always up for a friendly chat. Festivals have something for everyone: food, music, dancing, a play area for the kids, classic cars and of course an array of vendors. I like the festivals that are north of Alpharetta and at least an hour away because the drives are always peaceful and beautiful. After planning my weekend activities, I needed an activity for Saturday and this one fit the bill. We have actually visited the town of Ringgold but only explored its history and Civil War connection. I was excited to go back, to visit the local merchants and attend their annual festival now in its 40th year. I enjoy being able to actively join in the fun, singing along dancing and making merriment. Yes, I love to whoop it up. If you are lucky, you will also get to attend a parade as we did today. This was a small town parade that featured little kids riding their tractors or little convertibles, and hustling candy on the side. I loved this parade because we were not required to be positioned on the sidewalks and could actually reach out and touch parade participants if we wanted to. This made the experience more personal and I really enjoyed being able to say thank you directly to the vets who participated in the parade. Even though Ringgold is a small town, residents and sponsors did a great job of organizing this festival because they had several stages featuring different performances such as just music, dance and contests. Even the outdoor stages had chairs provided. You had a nice choice and one of the venues was in the historical depot where you could actually cool off. The town is small enough that you could park at one end and easily walk to each venue. They were even smart enough to place the business/service vendors on a side street so it kept things all about the festival and did not disrupt the flow of energy. The people attending and working the festival were super friendly and I love just chatting up the vendors and those showing their classic cars. One of my favorites was Rodney S. who had purchased a '55 Chevy wagon and restored it with his brother, (over three winters, because he has to bale hay in the summer). I was just amazed at the quality of work that went into this vehicle both under the hood, and in the interior. Neither of them have professional skills in restoration and they did not use a professional garage to complete the work. All of the work, (stripping, fabricating and painting), was done in the brother's garage. What a beauty! Please check out the photos of the yellow wagon. The classic cars were all just beautiful and I especially love the trucks and tractors. The lady saw me really admiring the classic tractor up for raffle and asked me if I wanted to take a photo. Before she could even finish, I had climbed into the seat of that tractor (dress and all), and directed my husband to take various shots. It was awesome! There were several food vendors and I appreciated seeing unique choices such as gator on a stick and healthy options like the grilled chicken on a stick. Unfortunately, we did not get to sample any of the food because we had eaten a solid breakfast and decided that we wanted to sit down in a cool restaurant for lunch. I would definitely recommend this festival for good clean, family fun and just for anyone who enjoys a nice relaxing time, with great music and good people. There is still time to enjoy this festival because it goes on until 10 pm tonight.

This was my first year at CounterPoint.... and of course OutKast brought me here…read more (Quite naturally I would like to give anyone involving 'Kast a 4 or 5, but let's be honest they as a group are just touring this year and headlining just about every festival. So that has more to do with the artist than festival) PROS: - I looooved that you could purchase tickets until the day of-- very smart move on their behalf. Very smart. Awesome kudos, and all of the above. - I liked the wristband and ability to add your c card to it, however I didn't like that once I tied it on I couldn't loosen up... maybe that was just me though? - I really like there website, I loved all the options, they even did a living social deal once. The person handling that stuff this year did well. Oh, and it was great to see they were updating the happenings on social media, particularly the storm stuff. CONS: - Some of the employees/workers/staff... The reason for the 3/5 is because of the lack of training of the people working there. They continuously gave me and others WRONG information, specifically regarding the location of parking lots. Myself and several other people spent over an hour walking around in sticky thick mud because we were told the wrong directions to our parking lot. NO ONE knew where it was except for one guy... one guy out of at least 20 people asked. They didn't have or want to use their walkie-talkies to help us either. They kept saying there were shuttles for rides to the parking lot, but nope. We were told certain shuttles come every hour or so... huh? Every hour??? Thats just senseless. When we tried to hail a few down we were ignored -- complete and utter a$$holes. The ones that were stopped and parked we were told were for medic. When we finally got to our car the guys doing parking weren't letting cars out equally, causing tempers to flair. I saw one counterpoint employee yelling at some people in a car... it was just sad. He was just rude for no reason, I'm sure he was tired from being there all day, but when is it ever okay to yell into a car of women like that? - Lack of communication. I sent an email to the festival to request certain information I couldn't find online and no one got back to me, even though it promises a response within 24hrs or so. - Waiting in a never-ending line of cars for about an hour. We sat in our cars inching up every few minutes... we probably spent the same amount of time in our car trying to park that we did just driving down there... crazy huh, lol. You seriously have to gas up. - The rain = MUD and MUD and more MUD. You can toss your shoes to the game. But I'm not gonna blame the festival for that. Thats just mother nature... she's gonna always do her own thing. LOCATION: "Kingston Downs" In Rome, Georgia. In the country, with rolling hills, and lots of bugs, and fresh air. Seriously though you are in the country, we passed a bunch of cows and farms on our way. Its a scenic route depending on how you come. (same place as the steeplechase) ARTISTS: They had a great mix of diversity this year. Outkast, Foster the People, Janelle Monae, Pretty Lights, etc etc.. NON-MUSIC OPTIONS: Lots of booths, carnival rides, and hippy type activities. SUMMARY: All in all I'm happy to have our very own outdoor music festival of this type in Georgia. I'm looking forward to seeing the growth.

Picking up will call tickets and parking passes was very simple and painless. Parking was easy as well and there were no lines to get in. Lines for bathrooms, vendors and food/beverage were minimal too. Most everyone accepted credit cards which also made it convenient. There are 3 main stages with different genres. We were able to get as close as we wanted or stay back when we wanted really easy, everyone was very curtious. Overall very enjoyable. Make sure to bring a few layers for when the sun goes down, it gets pretty chilly

I went here for a Q&A panel dinner for a training class I was participating in for work out there…read morein Rome, GA. It's located in a beautiful area near the river and definitely reminded me of old world southern country club when I arrived complete with foyers, sitting rooms, chandeliers, fireplaces in several rooms, and a full staff in uniform. I gave it 3 stars because it is so old fashioned that it's pretty outdated and the chairs were banquet style and pretty uncomfortable to sit in for several hours. We were in an upstairs room and were served buffet style. The food was average and included some limited salad options, chicken breasts done piccata style, but there was no pasta to pair it with which I found odd. Instead there was a bland herb rice. There was also some kind of beef dish that I don't know if it really has a name, it was pieces of beef in a dark sauce, but it also didn't have much flavor. Other sides included: very dense mashed potatoes, steamed green beans with almond slivers, and steamed veggies (squash i believe). The staff was very nice and the room was effective for the Q&A panel but I was really unimpressed with the food, and would have rather had the Q&A in the classroom we were using because the chairs were a lot more comfortable.

IT'S FALL FESTIVAL SEASON!…read more Festival season is now underway and this year I have decided that we will attend a new crop of festivals that we have never attended. Our first fall festival happened to be the The Great Locomotive Chase Festival in Adairsville. The festival commemorates the great chase of "The General" after it was stolen, (by a group of Union soldiers), during a layover at the Kennesaw Depot. It traveled through Adairsville before being abandoned near Tunnel Hill. This festival features carnival rides, arts and crafts booths, food vendors, entertainment on a couple of stages, a parade and fireworks. It takes place over three days, (full days Friday and Saturday and half of a day on Sunday). Saturdays are always the biggest days and have the greatest amount of attendees so this is obviously the best day to attend. Admission is only $3 and allows you to attend all three days. Parking was only $3 and less than a block away from the festival. Festival day is very important so you start preparing the night before. Get that uniform ready, get a good night's sleep, have a plan for breakfast and make sure you have all of the pertinent information regarding time, place and weather. You want to leave early so that you can get there early because the vendors will. Many of the items such as jewelry and art are "one of a kind" so you definitely want first choice. This is the ultimate Yelping opportunity because it allows you to "shine the light" on small businesses that otherwise go unnoticed. Many of the vendors will offer unique items and this is the perfect time to start thinking about Christmas gifts. Adairsville was the perfect town to host this festival because of its historic roots, small town status and community spirit. Small towns really make the best festivals because of the "warm" people, family friendly atmosphere and great parking. Also, you not only get to experience the festival, you also get to explore the town, its history and local shops. This festival while not as large as other festivals was perfect for us. It was held at the center of Town along the Public Square with the town's historic buildings as the backdrop. The vendors were nicely spaced and there was a separate food court that including picnic tables for sitting and eating. During many festivals, you have to either stand and eat and find your own limited seating. We actually ate before arriving so did not purchase food from the court. When you travel to the smaller towns, you always encounter interesting groups like SOC, (Sons of the Confederacy,) and Georgia Carry, (Second amendment restoration). Don't presume to know what these groups are about. Step up to the table and ask them about their group or cause because they don't bite. These guys have always been very courteous and very informative while providing plenty of written information. Whenever possible, go to the source for your information instead of allowing others to interpret it for you. You will definitely be enlightened. I was happy that they started the music at the start of the festival (instead of hours later like some festivals). Browning Automatic was the group that performed this morning and they were great. I loved the classic rock tunes and was surprised at how talented these guys are, they really surprised me. We were able to sit on the bleachers to listen to them and enjoyed hearing them while we walked around the square. Today's festival included a parade which was the typical small town parade. It included the local sheriff and local community based sport teams and their little cheerleaders. It was cute to see all of these little athletes following along behind the high school football players. The parade route went right through the square, (no barriers) so it not only allowed everyone a close view, but made for great photos as well. The biggest surprise of the day was the local high school band which obviously spends a great deal of time practicing with a talented director because they could compete with any college band! They were great!
